Chapter 16: Traitors

"Rose!"

"Rosemary!"

"Can you hear us, Cipriano?"

Ughh... Who? Who is calling me? 

Damn it, my head hurts so much! What happened?

"Rose?"

"... I'm here... don't worry!"

"Thank God you're alright!"

"You scared us..."

"I know, and I'm sorry, but for now, I'll need you two to go with Leviathan and meet up with the other team, got it?"

"What? Why?"

"No! You are injured, we can't just leave you here!"

"Emily is right! We are staying here with you. And that's final!"

"You two are coming with me and that's final!"

"Bu-"

"Emily, Emma! Just go already! Unless you two want to see us to die!"

"... Fine, but you better come back to us!"

"Emma is right! We'll be waiting for you to return by our side."

"Alright."

"Promise us, Rosemary!"

"I... I promise that I'll do my best in returning to your side!"

"Let's go."

Finally. I almost thought that they won't go. I hope they'll be alright if I won't be able to return to their side. Furthermore, I know that they might not forgive me for possibly breaking my promise to them, but unfortunately, I might end up dead between these ruins. 

I hope that they'll be ok and that they won't have to deal with those monsters anymore, but if they will encounter them, at least I hope that they'll meet with those three before-

"Are you sure that this will go as planned?"

"Of course! After all, we created these monsters and unfortunately for them, the only way for them to control them is by using Leviathans affinity over feline demons on those living mutated corpses, but not only that, they'll need someone with an affinity over the dead and undead to work in complete sink with him in order to be able to stop and control them."

"Hmmm... Easy but not so easy... what happened here?"

"Seems like they have already met our little pets. Let us hurry before we are seen. As long as no one doubts us, we can go on with the plan, per masters wishes. To think that the once mighty Angel's and now rulers of Hell, didn't even notice anything before it was too late."

"HAHAHA! It is indeed hilarious!"

"I can't imagine how they will react to our true creations, and not these little failures! That, my friend, shall be one Hell of a show for us to enjoy! For now, let us hurry to our rooms."

"Very well, to our rooms."

I see, no wonder there weren't any alarms going off due to the intrusion. Those things were in the castle to begin with. Lucky me, the pieces from the destroyed walls and ceiling are covering me perfectly, plus the fact that I thought of hiding my presence.  At the very least they aren't too smart to check to see if someone is around but hiding... it maybe they are...

"I'm telling you, I can sense that someone is here!"

"Look, under all those pieces of walls and ceiling, is just a dead body!"

"But-"

"Let's go already! I can hear someone coming this way. Hurry!"

"Okay..."

Hmm... maybe they aren't such big losers after all.

"Just call Lucifer and the Strategists and tell them that... the Commander of the Heavenly troops is... well... stuck under the pieces of rocks..."

"Very well... Do you also require medical assistance?"

"Maybe later since I'll need to get to the others as soon as I'll be able to stand up."

"Ok. Master Lucifer told me to tell you that they are on their way and will be here soon."

"Ok. Also... check to see who wasn't in their rooms until recently."

I just hope that they headed of for their rooms, though... I could identify them from listening to their voices.

"Anyone stuck here?"

"... You... you-"

"Calm down! Both need to get angry, we'll get you out of there soon enough."

"Freaking finally!"

"Already on it!"

I can feel him using his telekinetic powers to lift the pieces that are keeping me from leaving, but at the same time, I can also feel the steel leaving my back and wings, causing me further bleeding. Damn it all the way to Heaven. Had I known that I would encounter such damned creatures, I would have had brought my holy weapon with me. After a few minutes, I can finally feel myself free, and I feel that I can move freely.

"What in the Seven Hells happened to you?"

"Well... long story or short story? Thoughts, I can't guarantee that the short story has all the answers you need."

"What happened?"

"Apparently you have traitors in the castle, but fear not, I will be able to recognize them the moment I hear their voices. The things, living corpses, or whatever they might be, have also been created within the castle walls together with some other things and I learned how we can control the living corpses thanks to the traitors not being careful enough."

"That's good to hear, but you haven't told me what happened to you!"

"... Nothing?"

"Are you asking me?"

"Ok... well... I took the hit in Leviathans place, but don't tell him that even though he might know. But I knew that if someone could take Emily and Emma to safety, that would be him!"

"This doesn't explain why your wings are in this state!"

"It was the only way to make sure that my heart or anything else important was hit..."

"And so you thought to practically render you wings useless?"

"They will heal like always! It's not the first time this happened to me, ok?"

"Lucifer, as much as I don't have a problem with you two bickering, we need to hurry, or else, we might be too late."

"Fine! Kephu!"

"Mhmm?"

"Stop her bleeding and make sure she folds her wings properly back into her back!"
