Chapter 4: Akesha's Responsibility

She woke up in an unfamiliar room. The color of the wall was maroon, she groaned as she felt pain all over her body. She woke up suddenly as she remembered everything that happened earlier.

"Hey! Everything will be fine." She was surprised when Alexa touched her shoulder, she moved away from it.

"Don't be afraid." Alexa told her but she was very scared. Because shee witnessed everything. She just cried.

"I want to go home."

"You Can't be Akesha." She looked at Andious who was holding a two-year-old child.

"The baby? The wolf?" She asked Alexa and Andious in a panic.

Shee suddenly remembered what happened, they were attacked by monsters.

'She just closed her eyes and waited for her and the baby's death, but after a few minutes, she didn't feel any pain, so she opened her eyes, only to see the wolf on the floor without its head and scattered blood on the floor.'

When she looked up, she saw Andious, his eyes were red, and when she looked down at his hand, he was holding the wolf's head. That's when she lost consciousness, but before she completely lost her consciousness, she felt Alexa's arm, caught them before her body fell to the floor.'

She is still crying. "I want to go home."

Andious handed the child to Alexa before he faced the crying Akesha. "You have a responsibility to fulfill Akesha."

Andious is referring to her mother's debt. "Mama owes the debt and not me."

Andious sat next to Alexa before he answered her. "Then, should your mom be here now and not you?

If mom was here and she witnessed everything, would she be able to handle it?

Her mom is old so she knows, she can't handle everything. But is it right that she will be the one who owes it to the Draven family? And what debt is that they must pay?

"Do you know what awaits you Akesha? You are blessed because you are the chosen one."

Is she really lucky? People like her are not lucky but unlucky.

"I can't do anything else but pay our family's debt to you but then I'm leaving and you can't stop me."

The couple smiled at her.

"Then take care of Ant." At the same time, Alexa reached out to her, holding the child in her arms.

She stared at the baby in confusion.

"How, how did this happen? Didn't I just sleep for one day?"

Andious answered her. "Two days, and don't be surprised because this is the phenomenon of a vampire, it grows fast but it stops when he is taller than you."

Her jaws dropped. 'It's like I only saw it in a movie.'

She pinched herself, that maybe she was just dreaming, because she only saw events like what she was witnessing now in the movie. But because of the pain she felt she knew she was awake.

"It's like a movie."

Andious laughed. "How do you think they made that story in the movie if there is no basis for it? How can you make a story if you have nothing to base it on?"

"What should be done to pay off my family's debt to you?"

She held the child well. 'It's heavy.'

"Take good care of him until he grows up. Don't worry, you'll only have to wait about a month."

"And I can leave after one month?"

Alexa answered her. "Depends on Ant."

It depends on the child, who has strange colored eyes.

The couple said goodbye to her, so they left the child in her room.

She laid the child on the bed and talked to him like a madman. "Don't make me suffer."

He touched her face. She messed up his curly hair.

"You're really cute, even though you're different from me"

He just stared at her and smiled.

"Hey, don't smile at me like that, you won't be able to take me to your cute ones. You're still a baby but you know how to use your charm."

Ant held the fingers of her hand.

"Don't surprise me with your changes baby Ant, I might not be able to handle it."

She was still amazed to hear the first word that Ant said.

"Ba-by. Ba-by."

She laughed. "Yes baby."

Baby yawned. She squeezed his bulging cheeks.

"Are you sleepy baby?"

She hugged him and held him while singing softly to him.

When she noticed that he was sleeping, she put him in the crib, she didn't know when that crib was placed inside her room.

She lay down on the bed and because her body was tired and sore she immediately fell asleep.

'Akesha! Akesh!'

She hid in the cabinet, her whole body shaking. The faceless monster shouldn't be able to see her, but she only knows one thing, it killed everyone in the mansion. But where is Ant, she didn't see him earlier when she ran.

It's scary, blood dripping from its mouth, and long fangs. She could hear his footsteps.

'Got you!'

She stopped screaming when she suddenly woke up. She was panting and sweating profusely.

"Bad dream baby?"

She surprised when someone suddenly spoke.

"Oh devil!"

She even heard his weak laugh. "A handsome demon baby."

She turned and spoke. Her eyes widened in shock.

"Who are you?" She did not wait for his answer. She quickly approached the crib. When she didn't see what she was looking for. She sat on the floor

"Last night you were two years old and now you look eleven years old."

He laughed at Akesha's reaction. "Amazing right baby?"

'Baby?' Akesha's cheeks reddened what he called her.

"My name is Akesha. Sister Akesha."

He approached it and sat facing it.

"That's what I remembered. And we are not siblings. So why am I calling you sister?" He is right, why would he call her sister if they are not siblings.

She frowned. "That's called respect."

He touched her cheek. "Smile baby. I mean sister."

He smiled, it was so cute that he couldn't help but pinch it on the cheek.

"You grew up so fast."

He stood up. "When I woke up earlier, I was like this."

"I won't be surprised if you are taller than me tomorrow. So that means my job and our debt will end immediately."

He brought her face closer to him. "As far as I remember, that depends on me. So don't be happy baby because I have no intention of sending you away."

She didn't answer, because he left.

Akesha's heart beat faster because of what Ant said to her. Anyway, Ant hasn't done anything scary yet. So she will not be afraid except for its rapid growth.
