Cruelty of the world

A few months later, Nora's life changed dramatically. Constant brutal training conducted by Vladimir heavily loaded and mentally traumatized him. He gave him impossible tasks, the non-fulfillment of which was followed by insults and painful beating to unconsciousness. But every time Nor regained consciousness, Vladim immediately appeared to continue training. Due to frequent insults and beatings, Nor began to hate his abuser and vowed to take revenge when he became stronger. Unfortunately, the beatings and bullying became stronger and stronger, turning his life into hell.

The only people who helped and supported him during these times were baby Gustav and a beautiful kind girl named Elizabeth. Nor already knew that she was the daughter of the caretaker of the North Gate and the man who had brought him here. Nor did not hate Urug for his suffering.

From what Elizabeth told him, initially her father wanted to take him as an apprentice, but due to his injuries, he temporarily transferred Nora's training to his close subordinate.

Elizabeth told her father many times that Noram was being treated very cruelly, but her father did not listen to her, saying that this could not be. For her, Nor was like the younger brother she never had, and she helped him as much as she could. Several times she tried to stop Vladimir, but he ignored her.

In a decorated study, with several shelves against the wall, on which rolls of parchment were neatly laid, Urug was sitting at a large wooden table on an armchair covered with animal skin, he was holding a piece of parchment in his hands, which he was carefully reading. Although his appearance betrayed a little fatigue, he was honored with an abundant amount of energy.

Vladim stood in front of him with a stern face, he was dressed in a set of black linen clothes, with a copper sword hanging from his waist. Previously visible bandages were replaced by visible scars.

- How is his training going? - Without taking his eyes off the parchment, Urug asked calmly.

After a short silence, Vladim began his report. - The training takes place according to a planned plan, according to my assumptions, if the training continues at the same pace, it will take him a year and a half to reach an enhanced person.

- Well, how much has he become attached to Elizabeth, and do you think it's worth moving on to the next stage? - Urug asked again.

After thinking for a few seconds, Vladim answered. – His affection for Elizabeth is growing day by day, I think that in a month we should move on to the next stage.

- I see, keep up the good work. - Urug said.

- That's right. - Having bowed, Vladim left the office.

Urug sitting at the table sighed sadly. "This is necessary in order to tie him to his family. I will also need to send for a doctor, although Elizabeth is trying to hide it, but I see how her energy is getting weaker every day."

After a month of suffering, Nora, one fine morning, going to the training ground, he saw a frowning Urug standing, and Vladim was standing in front of him on his knees. Having called Nora to himself, Urug apologized and said that from today, he takes over the training. As for Vladimir, he will be put under house arrest for a while.

So months passed, after a month of Uruga's personal training, Nor noticed his kind attitude and became closer and closer to him. Urug taught him not only the use of weapons, but also taught him to read and write. Half a month later, he was appointed Elizabeth's personal bodyguard.

Spending time in training and talking with Elizabeth, he got closer and closer to her. But spending so much time with her and thanks to rashu scanty sensitivity, Nor began to notice that Elizabeth's energy was declining and she was weakening.

This scared Nor very much and he shared his concerns with Urugu. After listening, Urug calmed him down a little, said that he was already aware and sent people to bring a familiar doctor.

This statement calmed Nora down a little. A few weeks later, a healer arrived under the protection of 10 warriors. Upon learning about this, Nor and Urug took him to Elizabeth, who had been in bed most of the time.

After checking her condition, the doctor said that he had no way to help. His only assumption was that the child was to blame and if they could get rid of him, then maybe Elizabeth could survive.

Upon hearing this statement, Elizabeth immediately opposed him. Urug, although with inner pain, was also against it. The only one who internally disagreed was Nor. During the time spent with Elizabeth, he felt a feeling unknown to him before, and this feeling did not allow him to come to terms with her loss.

But hearing her reluctance, Nor could only watch again as the second person close to him slowly dies. This feeling of powerlessness fueled his inner feeling to become stronger, and he began to train even harder.

Time passed mercilessly and a few more months passed. In a decorated bright room, a girl was lying on a wide white bed. Her blonde hair spread out on the bed like a waterfall, but if you looked at her face, you could see how her previously beautiful face had become like a skin-covered skull. Under the body covered with a thin sheet, one could see a bulging belly.

Next to her, holding her thin hand, sat a young black-haired teenager, an incredible sadness could be seen on his slightly handsome face. Suddenly the girl squeezed her thin hand, this brought Nor to himself, and he looked at her sharply. Seeing a wet spot in the lower part of the girl's body, the teenager abruptly jumped up from his chair and ran out of the room.

Running out, he quickly ran into the next room, in which the doctor had been living for several months. After learning about the beginning of labor, the doctor, quickly grabbing a leather bag, went to the patient accompanied by a teenager. Upon entering, the doctor instructed the teenager to support Elizabeth and not to interfere with him.

After a few tens of seconds, two people burst into the room, one of them was the girl's father, Urug, and the second was his devoted subordinate, Vladim. Their faces were full of apprehension and a little hope.

Nor cast a look full of hatred in the direction of Vladimir, but a moment later turned back to Elizabeth encouraging her. The healer took out of his leather bag several strange plates made of some kind of monster's bone, connected by a strange string. Dividing the plates, he placed one part on the girl's vital organs, and the rest on her stomach. After that, having tied his hands, he sent rashu into them. The plates lit up with a faint green color.

(I'll skip the birth scene because I don't see the point in describing it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

A few hours later, a child's cry was heard from the room. A tired healer, wiping the child with a wet cloth, allowing everyone in the room to see the appearance of the child. The most noticeable feature of the baby was short white hair and bright blue eyes. Seeing the child, everyone in the room fell silent, but then Nor, who was holding Elizabeth's hand, heard her quiet voice.

"G-give it to me, p-please."

Hearing her, Nor quickly jumped up, carefully took the child from the doctor's hands, put it next to Elizabeth. Looking at the baby, she reached out a trembling hand and stroked his head. Lyxing next to the mother, the child closed his eyes and fell asleep. Elizabeth herself said wearily and quietly.

- I... t-thinking for a l-long time, w-what name to g-give you... and t-think this name was b-best suited, Albin. - After which, turning her sunken blue eyes to Nor, she said plaintively. –I h-have no r-right to ask y-you to, but, p-please, take care of him." I-I …

At that moment, the green energy in the bone plates disappeared and before she could finish, Elizabeth fell silent, and the hand stroking the child stopped moving. Nor, who was barely holding back tears, began to cry and, approaching Elizabeth's body, hugged her, shouting to himself.

"For what, what have I done, why are all the people close to me dying."

Behind him, Urug and Vladim stood with their heads down and clenching their fists. Although Urug looked more or less calm on the outside, deep down he was celebrating the incredible pain of losing his only daughter. Looking in the direction of the healer, Urug saw that he had almost fainted from the loss of rashu.

After a few minutes of crying, Nor turned his gaze to the baby and, under the gaze of Urug, took him in his arms. Looking at the sleeping baby, he clenched his jaw and said.

- I promise... I... I'll take care of him.
