Chapter 13

I walk into my room stumbling to my bed. Laying down I looked over to see Nina, Yuki, and Lumi in their beds sound asleep. What time is it? I ask curiously.

"It is midnight Phoenix." Night says to me. I cover up myself, shivering. Why is it that DarkStalker picked me? I am a nobody. NightFlame is a fucking dragon.

"Father picked you because of our destiny. He looked into the Future and saw your destiny, and he looked into mine and saw I die early. He put the two of us together because in the future we are together in, neither of us die." he said. Rolling over onto my side, and staring at the door. Slowly I fall asleep.

I wake up to someone shaking me. Opening my eyes I see Lumi and Yuki.

"You were mumbling in your sleep. I waited until morning to wake you." Yuki said, staring at me kindly.

"Sorry, and thank you. I have been having bad dreams lately, mostly about my past." I say, smiling sadly.

"Your past?" Lumi asks, blushing.

"Yes, my past was a very pour one and my parents sold me to someone for money for food. That someone became my new mother. She taught me all about the world and all about how the world works. She even sent me here." I say. I can't even remember my original parents faces.

"That's horrible!" Lumi and Yuki say in tandem. I look at them and smile.

"Yes although I had a bad past I am happy right now. I love being at this school now. At first I thought it was only gonna take up my life and not do anything for me in return." I say, laughing.

My stomach growls and Lumi and Yuki both look at each other.

"Adenine?" They both ask in tandem again. Laughing I nod my head and walk to the door, opening it. Yuki and Lumi follow me as I walk about halfway to the kitchen. Stopping, out of breath I look around and see Nina walking towards the kitchen.

"Hey, you heading to the Kitchen too?" I ask. She turns around, seeing me she smiles.

"Yes I am. You guys heading there also?" She asks, looking at each of us in turn.

"Yep." Yuki and Lumi say in tandem yet again. It's as if they know each others thoughts. As soon as I said that Yuki turned to me and winked.

"Of course they can, they can also read yours for some reason." Night said, voice small as if he was very far back in my head. They can read my thoughts? How is it they can read mine but they can't read others? I ask, shaken. Walking to the kitchen and up to the counter. Knocking on the smooth metal I watch as Adenine stops what she is doing.

"Hi Wolf." She said, turning around. She smiled and walked up to the counter. "I see you brought your friends, the usual?" She asks. I look at the others and they nod at me. Looking back at Adenine I nod.

"Yes we will take the usual. Whatever you make will be good enough for me." I say, smiling at her.

"Yes Mrs. Adenine whatever you make is always so good so that's what I get every time." Nina says, smiling nervously. The twins just nod, not saying anything. Apparently the agree with us or they would have said something.

"Coming right up." Adenine says, chuckling. She walks back to a huge pot and grabs a ladle of the rack. She then walks over to a cupboard gabbing four bowls. She walks back over and scoops up some stew putting two scoops in each bowl. Handing us each a bowl she smiles.

"Enjoy my beef stew. It has carrots, celery, potatoes, beef, some pepper, and a pinch of salt." she said, smiling. I turn around and walk to our usual table sitting down snarfing down the stew. Once I was done I set my bowl down.

"So how have your classes been doing?" I ask everyone, trying to be social. Yuki looks up from his bowl looking at Lumi. She shrugs so he looks at me.

"I don't take any classes so I wouldn't know. Lumi here is the one who takes classes." He said, scratching his head.

"Why? Are you doing advance training?" I ask. He stares at me shyly.

"No, my power has to be trained before I can use it around people, so Master Zelen teaches me how to control it. Lumi here has been training for a year and is finally deemed okay to go to classes." He said.

"Wow, he said to me if I wasn't able to control my power by the end of the semester he would tutor me." I said, remembering the deal I made with DarkStalker.

"Wow, he rarely offers to do that." Nina said, looking at me with interest.

"I'll be back." I say, getting up with my bowl. Walking over to the counter where Adenine was waiting.

"This was amazing as always." I said, placing the bowl on the counter.

"You always enjoy the food I make. I think your the only person who comes here everyday just to have my food." She said, taking the bowl and putting it in a sink of hot steamy water.

"It's because it's so good that I come here everyday. I have to go now, I will come back for lunch." I say, turning around.

"For lunch? This will be the first time I will see you at lunch." She said, turning back to cooking. Soon after that the others finished and gave Adenine their bowls.

"Thank you for joining me, Yuki and Lumi." I say, walking up to them.

"No problem Wolfe." Lumi said, smiling kindly. She turns towards Yuki.

"Go to Master Zelen, I'll be there after your training to walk with you back to our room." She said.

"Wolf hurry or you will be late!" Nina yelled, laughing as she watched me jump.

I run to my classroom, leaving the others behind.
