CHAPTER 3 - A MOTHER SON BOND.

COLIN'S POV.

He was nervous. I could tell. Every step we took he griped my hand tighter and snuggled closer into my forearm. I knew he was worried my mother was going to do something but I was with him.

"Hey, look at me Jules. It's alright. She won't harm you again because I'm here. Don't be scared." I was trying to be as reassuring as possible and make him feel more comfortable.

Hell, he was in my house.

He gave me a light nod and we continued on to the dinning room. The first face I saw was my sister's, Catherine and her daughter Diana. I met face to face with my mother.

She had a long sleeved black mermaid dress and a veil in black to cover her face. She kinda gave witches a bad name with the way she dressed sometimes....

The minute she saw me she stopped eating and she walked up to me and hugged me. This was shocking. I thought she was going to throw a tantrum again.

"I'm so sorry for the way I acted yesterday son. You were right. I should have let this petty anger go a long time ago. I'm finally ready to accept you and your link." Okay, this was odd.

Even for her.

One minute she wants to kill Julian and the next she's ready to accept him...? What angle was she playing at? I knew her inside and out. She was up to something.

'Just play along. Find out the angle later. As long as she doesn't hurt mate anymore.' My wolf told me. He also thought something was fishy.

I hugged her back and everyone watched as the scene played out. Even Julian. She let go of me and she took Julian's hands in hers.

"I hope you can forgive me Julian. Don't blame my son for all my shortcomings. I realised yesterday that I don't want to loose my son again. I lost him for sixteen years and it hurt like hell. I've accepted that your with him now. Will you please forgive me?" I watched in awe as Julian stared at me as if waiting for my response to all this.

"The past is the past Mrs Bradshaw, I've already forgiven you. I'm so happy that you and Colin are okay now!" Julian embraced my mother and she reciprocated. This scene was so touching but I still couldn't excuse my mother's actions. Something was off. I wanted to know what.

We all sat down and ate breakfast in peace when I thought we would fight about one thing or another. My mother would occasionally ask Julian a few questions and he would answer politely.

'Don't be fooled Colin. She's up to something and we can't trust her...We need to make sure she's really okay with this.' My wolf just gave me a wonderful idea...was she really okay with me acting queer around her?

"Julian you have some food on your lip, here I'll get it." I leaned in close and wiped it of his lip and I had to taste his juicy peach lips.

The kiss was deep and some tongue involved but I really liked it. My eyes darted to my mother and I could see the cringe in her lips. Her eyes had already changed colour to purple. She was mad.

I pulled away from Julian and his face was flushed. Even his ears were all red. I should have crossed the boundaries sooner but this was making me all got and flustered.

I picked him up princess style and my sister stared at me shaking her head. My mother just sat there with nothing to say.

"If you'll excuse us Catherine, mother. Thank you for the lovely breakfast but I have to take care of something." The stupid smirk on my face just got her even more angry.

This was the kind of relationship my mother and I had. Fractured and broken. This was our mother son bond.
