Chapter 26 - Xander

I have never been this stressed in my life. Trying to pretend that i don't mind the suspense is just killing me. i want to ask her but i can't allow myself to look desperate. The worse part is that she pretends as if everything is ok. Can't she see that i can hardly sleep. I want to think that i did a bad move proposing early but she was so happy just like i was. I wish i didn't rush into saving Dana that day but she is family. "Hey man, you look like crap. When was the last time you slept?", Nick asked me and i couldn't even reply, i just wanted to drown myself in whiskey like i have been doing the whole week. "She still hasn't said anything has she?", Dana asked sitting next to Nick who opens his arms for her. The near death experience has been a wake up call for my little brother, he has changed. I see that even Dana is happier. "Noup...and it's driving me insane", i said drowning the rest of the whiskey in my throat. "Slow down man, what if she walks in here and sees you like this?", Nick said making me think about it but then again, she hasn't made that kind of effort the whole week so i doubt it. When i started pouring another glass of whiskey the door opened and speak of the tiny devil, my Lola walked in with Tank right behind her. "Hi guys!", she said to Nick and Dana in a cheerful voice. "Hey there, what are you so happy about?", Nick asked making me concentrate on Tank to see if he will give me a hint. The dude was blank. She walked towards me, going down on one knee and pulling up a velvet box. "Alexander Tan, am sorry that i have been avoiding you. I promise to stand by your side from now on and always be the person you can count on... Always. Will you marry me?", she opened the box and i see the ring i got her making me smile. I kneeled infront of her, pulling her face to mine kissing her with everything that i've got. When i was satisfied, i pulled back and looked at her swollen lips pecking them one more time. I took the ring out of the box and put it on her finger. "I swear your way of saying yes is very very sexy", she said pulling me in another kiss.

"We are home!", i said from the front door. "Kitchen!", dad said making us follow his voice. We found him making dinner with Amanda sitting on the kitchen counter wearing what seemed to be dad's shirt. "Smells amazing in here", Lola said siting on one of the chairs. I ran my hand through my face and felt the beard and moustache, i hated them so i figured since dinner was not ready i could go freshen up. "Am gonna go take a shower real quick", i said kissing my Lola on top of her head. I walked to the bedroom to find a suit waiting on the stand for me with a note attached to it.

Dad, he was one of a kind, it was a dark blue tux. My kind of suit. He knew me better than anyone so i was happy that this was happening. I looked at myself in the mirror and i looked horrible. I wondered what she sees in me. I don't deserve Lola, but am happy that she chose to go through with this because i was loosing my mind. She is my everything and i will make her happy always. I took a shower and shaved, finally looking like myself. It felt good. I was getting married so it was only wise that i step up. When i returned to the kitchen i found Amanda trying to convince Lola to do make up, this was something that i really wanted to see. Lola was a natural beauty, her chocolate skin colour was a thing of nature. I have only seen her in lipsticks unlike Amanda who has a glam squad too. I don't blame her though, she always looks like a model so go figure. "Xander, please tell her that i don't want any make up. Please!", she whined. "Amanda, please focus on your own wedding and leave us be", i said making her huff and Lola smirk. "Ok, ok cut it out, time to eat", dad said placing the ribs in the middle of the kitchen table along with some fries and cheese sauce. Nick and Dana joined just as we finished saying grace and we were all happy again.

"So Xander, i kind of asked your dad to walk me down the aisle. i hope that is ok", Lola said looking everywhere but in my eyes. She was nervous, i don't blame her. "Baby girl, it's ok. He is your dad too just not officially yet", i said pulling her in a much needed hug. I missed being with her like this, not doubts, secrets just being us. "You are amazing Xander, thank you", she said kissing my chest making me groan. "You are amazing too", i said and kissed the top of her head. When she entered the bathroom to take a shower, i stepped out of our bedroom. I called the priest and confirmed the wedding and venue, then texted Tank telling him, he will have to pick up Lola and Amanda taking them to one of the beach hotels where we will be getting married. Amanda assured me that everything was ok and i trusted her. Events was her thing so all i had to do is sign the cheques. I released a breath and returned to the bedroom finding Lola already waiting for me between the sheets. She opened the sheets the moment i closed the door revealing the most tiniest and sexiest lingerie i have ever seen making me lick my lips. "Oh baby girl you know just how to make me loose my mind", i said walking towards her slowly earning a giggle.
