Chapter 3

Petra Abena Wilson, a seventeen year old young lady has began her journey of surviving the storms after high school and has assure herself to be determine and diligent throughout her endeavours. Life might throw her some hard balls but she is not going to be stealthy. The ball of fire is going to be on her mind. Life in her previous life was very devastating and had plan not to go back to that disheartening moments back again.

Children brought up without proper supervision run away from homes to fend for themselves and some as a result of broken homes or death of either one or both parents. At a very tender age did Abena learn to fight and to be strong as her mom used to tell her before her departure to join the ancestors sadly. Staying strong and learning to survive and standing on her own to face her fears would take her far and get her where she want to be in the years to come.

So was Andrea Coffie alias Bouncer also started. Brought up by her only mother as a result of broken home needed to flee from home due to economic hardship. Life in village was very disheartening. Children at a very tender ages were left to face their own hustle. She leaving with no other option had to come to the city to find greener pasture.

School children mostly teenagers drop out of school to work for their basic needs and also school needs for survival. The extent of poverty striking about 80% of people in the rural areas is unmeasurable. Most parents become irresponsible as a result of poverty.

Unemployment rate is high and standard of living is also high. This makes a vast number of young adults run away from hardship. The rate of people booming from to the capital cities is alarming all because of poverty. Rural-urban migration has made the urban centres to be overcrowded with immigrants from both inside and outside of the country all in the name of finding reputable jobs to do but with the few resources, can the jobs in the urban centres meet the demands of the over populaced?

"Bouncer, wake up" Abena called. The young lady lying on a very tattered student mattress woke up after a few taps on the shoulder.

"Yes! What says the time?" Andrea asked as she finally got up from her sleep.

"It is 7pm prompt. You said I should wake you up at this time" Abena said.

Andrea stretched herself to the full length of the bed. She seemed to be very exhausted but she got no other option than to wake up for her night business. She went straight to a wooden built bathroom near their small house to freshen up. In that hour, Abena was wondering the kind of job that her new found friend was involved into.

Still in anticipation, Andrea came back from the bathroom and entered their room. It was one room which was divided into four sections. The bedroom itself, a hall, a dining room and a kitchen so anyone could imagine how both of them were living in such a small room. Scattered clothes here, utensils there. Abena was even the one making sure that things in the room were set in order. And also does the cooking and cleaning in the house since Andrea had no intention of arranging her things due to her so called busy schedules.
