A/N. I've been really excited about this chapter! Sorry about the last couple of chapters being short, they were more filler chapters. <3

Chapter Thirteen

This week has gone by in a blur. I managed to do well on my tests, for which I'm extremely grateful I didn't screw that up. My presentation for biology went well as well. Me and Ashton did not mess it up, which I was sure I'd probably do. But we received a B on it.

Luke and I were back to normal, and he invited me to go to his party which happens to be tonight starting at seven.

At the moment, it was half after six. I had no idea what you were supposed to wear to high school parties. I didn't want to show up too casual or too fancy. I decided to just stick with a nice top matched with a black skirt and boots to finish it off.

Good enough.

I left my hair as is, and did very light makeup. Luke's was only a block away so I just planned on walking there and. I planned on leaving around seven-thirtyish so I wouldn't be excessively early.

I head at exactly the time I wanted to and start the fifteen-minute walk to the party. I can hear music as I turn onto Luke's street lined with cars. People were out by the entrance talking, some people passed out on the lawn. The party just started and people are already wasted?

I traipsed through the bodies and made my way to the kitchen for a drink. Everything seemed to be mixed with vodka or some other liquor so I just grabbed a water bottle behind the beer in the fridge.

The loud music blasting through the house will take some time to get used to. I wander through the house knowing I'll probably end up lost by the end of the night.

Many corners and people making out later, I found Luke playing a drinking game with some guy I hadn't known of yet.

There's a couch in the corner occupied by a couple, but there's a good two-thirds of it unused, so I make my way to sit down, holding the water bottle upright between my legs.

The music is dulled a bit by this room, and I could see myself making camp here for the night, or at least until I feel otherwise.

Luke ends up winning the game making the mystery boy groan as he has to chug another cup. Luke sees me and instantly lightens up.

"You came!" He exclaims running up to me while I stand. Clearly he's had a bit himself.

"Wouldn't miss it." I smile up at him.

We end up talking for a bit, and Luke ends up introducing the mystery boy as Calum. He goes to hug me but loses his balance and falls into the couch making the room erupt in fits of laughter. Beer pong will do that to you.

Luke disappears to go mingle with his guests and I'm left with a giggling Calum who's messing with my bracelets. He's like a small child when he's hammered, and I can't help but wonder what he's like sober.

"There you are!" I hear as someone enters making his way to me and Calum.

"You!" We both say at the same time. Of course crazy hair would be here.

"When will I stop running into you?" I sigh at him pretending it's the worst thing.

"You secretly love it... He smirks,

"How much have you had to drink?" He asks now focused on his friend.

"Mm, I don't know." Calum slurs. Too much if you ask me.

"Let's get you somewhere you can't make a fool of yourself." It was then I realized I didn't know this guy's name. On the occasions we'd meet, it never came up.

"Okayyy Mikey" Calum says smiling up at who I now know as 'Mikey'.

As soon as he's up and stumbling, Calum feels the need to address me.

"Bye Emmy, I had a fun time with you!" I cringe at his nickname for me but wave back at him. He'd most likely forget he ever met me tomorrow morning.

I decided to look around for Luke after being alone for a bit. Water bottle in hand, I set off in random directions in the hope to find him.

What has to be ten minutes later, I've gone to many rooms and have had no luck. I had stumbled across some people passing a joint in a circle though, they hadn't even noticed my presence before I left.

Giving up, I sit upon the stairs out of people's way of going up and down. Talking about a drink of water I hear Luke's laugh come from a near distance followed by a girl's.

I follow the sound to find Luke and Sophie making out, his grip around her waist nearly touched her ass, with her hands wrapped in his hair. My breathing hitched at the sight, he was in no hurry to stop it at all.

I storm off into the main area where most of the people were and try to calm myself. Why had I put so much trust in him? Had he really had a feeling for me or was it all lies?

All I could think about was how to numb the pain in my heart. Being surrounded by alcohol was not a good choice because I was seriously considering drinking some. Everyone else is numbing their feelings, why can't I?

"Fuck it." I say as I pour myself a mystery drink.

I take a sip, and I crinkle my nose in disgust. This tasted like rubbing alcohol mixed with juice. I don't get how people enjoy this. But for them again, people don't really drink it for the taste.

Many drinks later, I find myself dancing with random people. My drink in my hand sloshing in the cup as I sway my hips to the music. I can now see why teenagers act out like this.

After dancing for a while after finishing off my drink, I weave my way outside to sit out in the grass. I fall on my butt next to some passed out guy. His clothes were all disheveled with messy hair, he looked like a hot mess.

There was a cup full of some alcohol on the steps by me and I take it not even caring where it's been.

I start to sense how lonely I was and pull out my phone.

After a war with trying to unlock it, I stare down trying to read my contacts through my haze. I didn't want to call Alex and have him scold me for drinking, so I called the next best person I could read.

"Hello?" He answers, sounding like he just woke up.

"Heyyyy, Ashy," I say giggling remembering when his brother called him that.

"Emma? Have you been drinking?"

"Mayybee." I giggle,

"Mmm very lonely here." I grumble.

"Where are you exactly?"

"I'm at Luke's party, I'm next to some guy passed out outside." I look over at the guy next to me.

"Don't move." Is all he says before hanging up.

I sit back and watch a couple of people arguing by the bushes.

Ashton approaches me after a few minutes glaring at the house before him. I stand up, swaying as I try to find my center, I make my way to him, almost dumping my drink in the process.

"Jesus, how much have you had?" Ashton asks as he takes my cup away and throws it into the bushes.

"Why'd you do that!" I whine evading his question. He ignores my protests of him throwing my drink and steers me away from the party. I almost fall over after making a wrong step, but Ashton catches me, and I giggle at how flustered he is with me.

"You better not puke in my car." He looks at me sternly, and I laugh at him.

"Why so serious, Ashy." I say attempting to poke his check but he pushes my hand away.

"Let's just get you home." Home. I groan in protest.

"I don't want to go home, take me anywhere but there. Pleeeeasase." I beg Ashton. He sighs closing his eyes.

"You're lucking my mom is out of town for the weekend."

He leads me to his car and motions me to get in after he opens the door for me. Getting in was harder than I thought it was. My coordination is all off, I can't even see straits anymore.

I mess with the radio, enjoying pushing the buttons but my hand gets pushed to my lap to stop.

When back at Ashton's, he leads me inside with his arm around me for support.

I follow him to his room as he finds me something to sleep in. I fall on his bed ready to sleep. I'm awakened by a shirt and some shirts being thrown my way.

"Don't look." I try to keep a straight face but ultimately fail. He turns around.

"I need help." I mumble getting stuck in my shirt somehow.

He helps me out of the mess and guides my hands into the new shirt.

"You're absolutely hopeless." He chuckles lightly at me. I pout at him pulling my skirt down, not caring that he's here anymore.

I praise myself for wearing cute underwear today.

As soon as I'm dressed I lay back on his bed sideways.

"Why do you hate Luke?" I interrupt Ashton telling me where the bathroom is.

"What?" He asked taking off guard.

"You warned me about him and I didn't listen." I say bringing back tonight's events to mind. Tears threatened to spill but I rubbed my eyes ridding them.

"Is that why you drank? Luke did something didn't he." I just nod, not able to articulate any words in my saddened state.

"I knew this would happen." He sighs sitting down by me. Something must've happened to make him hate Luke so much. So I asked again,

"Why do you hate Luke."
