The Only Leveling System

Nobody on Earth expected monsters to suddenly rush out from portals that appeared out of thin air. What happened was what would only appear in novels, mangas, or animes. Everything seems surreal. Unfortunately, for those who are in denial, none of this is a dream. This is REALITY. Rem’s "peaceful" life was shattered on that day. Many years had passed since then. Rem somehow ended up being the last human alive on Earth. She succeeded in defeating the Demon King. Despite all the rewards she received, Rem didn’t have the will to live anymore. Suddenly, a man in a white robe appeared before Rem. "I'm Alchit, the God of Light. Congratulations on your victory." 'What is there to celebrate? My family, friends, comrades... Everyone but me is all dead!' "What kind of god are you??! Alicht, the God of Light? More like A SH*T, the God of all sh*ts!!!" "HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! This is the first time anyone has insulted me like that. For that, I'll tell you a little something...!" Alchit leaned over to Rem's right ear and whispered: "This happened because I find things like this entertaining. You're simply a CHARACTER I took interest in. That's how you survived for so long." Before Rem could process what she just heard, Alchit ended her life ruthlessly with his blade. Was Rem going to die just like that? Yes! Of course, she is. Not even plot armor can protect her from this. How can a mere human survive any sword that pierced one's heart without dying? At least her death was quick and probably painless, right...? After dying, Rem got reincarnated into another world. The only problem was, she was reincarnated as a MONSTER. A monster that's the size of a CAT. Actually... Make that two problems. Rem can’t remember anything in her past life except for her first name, the day the portals appeared, some knowledge about the monsters she met before, being brutally murdered by Ash*t, and her immeasurable hatred for Gods. Having an annoying yet somewhat helpful system barely helps in the situation Rem’s in. "Why am I here, just to suffer?” Let's look at the bright side. Rem has another chance. A chance to get revenge in this new life of hers. Nonetheless, her priority right now is to survive. How will Rem survive in the current cat-sized monster body she's in? Will she ever succeed in getting her revenge? Can she get her memories back and uncover the truth? Join Rem on her journey and see for yourself! ——————————————————————— Tags: Adventure, Fantasy, FemaleMC, FemaleProtagonist, GameElements, Magic, MedievalWorld, ModernWorld, Monster, Monsters, Nonhuman, Overpowered, Portals, PowerfulMC, Rebirth, Reborn, Reincarnation, Revenge, System, Transmigration ——————————————————————— TOLS = The Only Leveling System ——————————————————————— ^Please note that everything in this novel is made up and isn't real. What A Mess...

"Everyone, prepare yourselves! At midnight, we'll be attacking Orthio City. If one comrade is down, take their position and fight! No matter what, never stop fighting! Kill every living being in sight, no matter what size they are. Remember that we MUST win! FOR OUR KING!!!" A high-ranked demon yelled, standing above all the others.

"FOR OUR KING!!! FOR OUR KING!!! FOR OUR KING!!!" The crowd of demons chanted.

"It sure is noisy here." A male demon without any scars in sight stated.

He has two large, slightly round, curved horns on his head and two large, thin, dark red wings. He has black hair and blood-red eyes. He's wearing a black, somewhat torn cape, and a suit of armor with the Demon King's crest on the top left side of the armor engraved on it. While holding a spear that he held using his right arm and leg, he was crossing his arms as he laid his back on a tree casually. He spun his spear around as if it was a toy, staring at his weapon with bored eyes.

"Why can't I join this fight??? Watching at a distance is painful...! Those demons are weak. Last time, I had to see them fight. They only killed a few. in the end, they even RETREATED. If I could join the fight, I could have killed every last one of them." The same demon claimed, using his spear to stab the ground.

Now, there was a deep hole in the ground from the spear.

"Calm down. I'm bored as well, but we have to be patient. Soon, we can kill as much as we want. Wait for a little longer... Okay, Igor?" A female demon said, looking at the male demon.

The female demon looks similar to the male demon. She too has the same features as the male demon, except she seemed calm and collective.

"Fine... If you say so, Jaelyn." Igor sighed, kicking his spear.

"We'll get what we want in due time," Jaelyn stated, leaning on the back of a tree, the same tree Igor was leaning on.

...

'This must be where the naiad lives...' Rem concluded.

"Why did you help us?" Rem asked bluntly.

Rem, Alex, Izel, and Chloe are currently at the bottom of the lake. Surprisingly, the bottom of the lake was clear, only it was a little darker than when they were at the surface.

'There's coral, seaweed, and I think those are some kind of fish...? Everything looks similar to the living beings back on Earth. Is there a connection?' Rem wondered, waiting for the naiad's response.

"I helped you guys because I wanted to." The naiad finally answered.

"Then why did you want to help us?" Rem asked another question.

Alex, Izel, and Chloe stayed still, not saying anything. They were still bewildered by this situation they're in.

"I simply wanted to help. That's all." The naiad claimed, staring at Rem.

'Wanted to help? There's no way. Why would anyone help anyone without gaining anything from it???'

{Some people are like that.}

「This is one of the reasons why I hate angels and everyone who serves God.」

'I don't understand...'

Rem furrowed her brows.

"After those people who are trying to find you leave, you may get out of here." The naiad said, swimming towards a tunnel.

"Wait... Give me a clear reason about why you're doing this." Rem demanded.

{I never knew you were this stubborn...}

'Be quiet.'

{As usual, you're rude.}

The naiad looked back for a second, then went back to do what she was doing.

'She... Ignored me?'

Rem stared at the tunnel in disbelief.

'Ah, what's wrong with me...?'

Rem shook her head, facing the other three.

"We'll be staying here until we're out of danger." Rem announced.

"Okay," Alex replied.

"Oh, uh yeah. Sure!" Chloe responded.

"Izel will explore this lake," Izel said, pointing in one direction of the lake.

"Alright, just be on guard no matter where you are. Come back before the afternoon." Rem said to Izel.

Izel nodded, beginning her exploration.

"Um... I-I don't know how to s-swim!!!" Chloe yelled, panicking.

Even Izel, who she met when she first came to this world didn't know that Chloe couldn't swim.

"We're at the bottom of the lake. Walk like how you usually do." Rem calmed said, demonstrating it herself.

'This bubble keeps you dry, and you can breathe in it too.' Rem noticed, amazed.

'Anyways, while Roy stays at the Elven Kingdom and gathers information, we might as well leave to another kingdom or city. That disgusting man from the other day said there's a City towards the West. What was that city called again?'

{Leroy City.}

'Right... Give me a short summary of that city.'

{Leroy City is a city that's located in the largest desert in this world. It has one of the highest tourist attractions because of its unique culture, food, and buildings. There are many races from all around the world. Of course, everything is expensive in that city. They have a female ruler. The people there are known for their abnormal strength.}

'Kind of like egypt?'

{I don't know what you're talking about, but slaves are legal in Leroy City.}

'No wonder... It sounds like a harsh journey. I'm glad I have a resistance to the cold and heat. There shouldn't be any problems... It's a different story for those three though.'

Rem opened the system's shop, searching for the materials she would need for the journey to Leroy City as Alex and Chloe argued with each other.

...

"This isn't good... There are so many people who are injured or dead from the battle the other day. Where are all the healers?" Karina asked, not having the energy to yell.

She was tired from all the healing she had to do. She chose to help, but all this healing made her worn out. She didn't eat nor get any sleep. There were dark circles under her eyes.

"There aren't many healers in this city." One of the knights claimed.

Karina sighed, taking a seat on a bench.

"You should rest a little," Kaito suggested, giving Karina a bottle of water.

"Thanks... I don't think I have any energy left to do anything... I guess I have no choice. I'll take up on that offer. By the way, what are the others doing?" Karina asked, taking a sip of the water.

"As always, Yukino isn't speaking. She lays on the bed all day while Yukio keeps on training. Oliver is just... I guess you can say he's fooling around and having the time of his life. Look at him, munching on the fries over there."

Kaito pointed at Oliver who has his mouth stuffed with fries.

"Oh, gosh... I don't think I've ever felt like this before."

Karina sighed again, putting down the half drank, bottle of water.

"I want to get Arka City back," Kaito said quietly.

He said those words so quietly that only a small whisper could be heard.

"What?"

Karina didn't hear what Kaito said. She faced Kaito, tilting her head slightly.

"It's nothing."

Kaito sat next to Karina, looking up at the sky. None of them expected a larger disaster to come their way at midnight.

It's messy, isn't it?
