Chapter 92 - Dr. Oguruma

After greeting each other, Lev and Dyaus Pita already started fighting each other. They have been exchanging blows for quite some time now and when you look at it closely, Dyaus Pita was slowly being forced to fall back and couldn't get the upper hand against Lev.

'Pita. It surely has gotten stronger than before. However, it wasn't that much.' Lev thought before smirking seeing that his strength had now surpassed Dyaus Pita and could now probably kill it.

Meanwhile, Dyaus Pita also understood what was happening however, it didn't yield and got angrier instead as it suddenly roared and revealed its wings at the same time.

"It's no use!" Lev said before throwing out a dagger to the sky and below Dyaus Pita. He was sure that it already knew the gap between them and was now using its trump card however, he was already prepared for it seeing him disappearing in his position and appearing several meters above it.

Following that, Lev then started accumulating power in his right hand before seeing Dyaus Pita looking at him. Falling down, he saw Dyaus Pita unleashing lightning bolts to attack him midair however, he just smirked at it seeing him disappearing again, and teleported right beside the other dagger that he threw beforehand.

"I told you that it's no use. 25 Ren Kugi Punch." Finding a good spot, Lev then said before punching Dyaus Pita with his accumulated power. With that, he then immediately retreats a distance not wanting to be careless.

Following that, a moment of silence then occupied the place, but it only lasted for a while before Dyaus Pita suddenly roared nonstop as its body continued to fly back while hitting all the ruined buildings, etc. on its way.

Lev, on the other hand, didn't want to let the opportunity as he knew that Dayus Pita wouldn't die just like that. He then immediately threw two daggers in its direction and once again started accumulating power but this time with both hands.

Dyaus Pita roared twenty-five times and flew back at least several meters away before stopping. Despite getting a clean hit, it still tried to stand up as it looked at Lev who was holding his direction with hatred. Knowing its situation, it then shifted his attention in another direction.

Lev noticed the sudden change of Dyaus and then looked in which direction it was looking just to see Alisa on the other end. He couldn't help but grit his teeth wanting to rush forward however, he was already late seeing it roar loudly and unleashed several balls of lightning toward Alisa's direction.

"Shit." Lev cursed upon seeing this situation. If he only had the cold heart to abandon Alisa, he could kill Dyaus Pita once and for all. He looked at the Dyaus with dead eyes before looking at Alisa who was looking at them with blank eyes.

Seeing that Alisa really wasn't in the right condition, Lev gritted before canceling out his skill and stretching out his hand at her casting another skill 'Bansho Ten'in' while being tormented by the backlash.

Following that, Alisa then was pulled by an invisible force toward Lev and safely evaded the attacks on time.

Lev, after catching Alisa in his embrace, immediately looked back toward Dyaus Pita just to see it already running away from the place. He could only sigh and shake his head before a making painful expression on his face as the consequence of not unleashing the built-up power started rebounding.

Not long after, Sia, Shio, and Kanon, then safely arrive at Lev's location after they've done their work.

"Master, are you okay?" Sia worriedly asked as she knew that his opponent was the same Aragami that he couldn't kill before. She then immediately looked into his body and sighed in relief after not seeing any injuries.

"I'm fine, but Alisa might not. I will leave her in your care. I want to check something really quick." Lev hurriedly said as he jumped to the nearest establishment before jumping from building to building towards the tallest one in the place.

Hearing Lev's words, Sia and the others then looked at Alisa who was shaking on the ground. They don't know what was happening to her but seeing her condition, they then started talking something to make her comfortable and calm down.

Following that, Sia and the other then just talk to each other and look after Alisa while waiting for Lev's return. Kanon, on the other hand, was completely mesmerized by witnessing Lev's power and seeing how he forced such horrible Aragami to run away.

On top of a building,

Meanwhile, Lev could be found looking toward the direction in which Dyaus Pita had run away. He could still see its shadow in the distance and might even catch up to it, however, he still decided to stop for now and let it just run away this time.

'It was unfortunate, but I will kill it next time for sure after all, I have already branded it with my imprint.' Lev thought upon seeing that it was getting farther and farther before he jumped down from the building wanting to see Alisa's current condition.

Seeing the time they took in the wasteland, Lev looked at his unit members with relief before staring at the shaking Alisa while murmuring something. It was only then did he realized just how traumatic Alisa's experience really was seeing her becoming inactive just by seeing Dyaus Pita.

"Let's head back and rest." Lev then said as it was already late and was about to get dark. He then just looked at Sia and the others telling them that he would leave Alisa to their care. Following that, Sia and the others nodded as they helped Alisa get back to their vehicle and finally left the place.

Far East Branch Headquarters,

After Lev and his unit returned, Lev, as their captain, then didn't plan on keeping the secret and reported what happened seeing him already sitting in Johannes's office together with Dr. Sasaki.

"You said it looked like a Vajra but way more different than them in size" Johannes repeated after hearing Lev's report. He does not really show any interest in this kind of stuff, however, knowing that Lev could not kill it and even ran away from him, he could not help but get curious.

"Yeah. It was also more violent, and I also suspect that it has intelligence, unlike the others." Lev replied only the necessary information that he wanted to share not wanting them to suspect and get suspicious thinking why he knew such much information.

"Hmmm. I just found a similar case here six years ago in the Russian Branch database, but it has very little data and they called it Dyaus Pita." Dr. Sasaki said while reading what was written on the report on his tablet. He was looking at it seriously since there must be more to it than meets the eye.

"Is that what you saw, Lev?" Johannes then asked as he wanted to confirm if the two were the same Aragami.

"Yes, it is." Lev answered while pretending to look at the report.

"Well, that's all for today. I'm grateful for your presence and help here in the headquarters, Lev. I will tell Major Amamiya later that your unit could rest for the time being until Alisa turns back to normal." Johannes then finally concluded. He then stood up and offered Lev a handshake. There's actually no need to be that formal but thinking that Lev was still a mystery to them, he still remains cautious and observant.

"No need as I did it all for Aegis Project." Lev then replied with a smile and accepted the handshake.

Johannes looked at Lev with a smile on his smile. The gratefulness that he just showed was really genuine as Lev's unit really contributed a large number of cores every time they completed a mission. Thinking about his hidden agenda, he could not help but smile as it would be not too long before it finished.

Right after that, Lev then didn't stay any longer and bid his farewell leaving the two behind.

"I still can't see through him." Dr. Sasaki said right after Lev left the room.

"It doesn't matter." Johannes replied as what he was concerned about was the project that he was working on as all other matters were not necessary. Though it was a shame knowing that his blood couldn't help humanity, his service was more than enough.

"Johannes, are you still thinking about completing the Ark Project?" Dr. Sasaki then changed the topic and seriously asked as he knew this project all along and yet he hadn't shared it with anyone and even tried to stop him. However, just like him, he was also trying to come up with another solution to the problem.

"Paylor, I don't think I need to explain this again. You're free to stop me if you want but I won't stop it no matter what." Johannes replied while looking at the painting on the wall again not worrying if Sasaki would stop him.

"Johannes, truth to be told, Lev's sudden appearance in this place had given me hope. He was not the same to any one of us. And given enough time, he might be able to come up with another solution." Dr. Sasaki said his thoughts. He knew Johannes was doing this for humanity to survive but his methods also had demerits as they would also sacrifice a large number of human lives.

Meanwhile, Johannes did not reply and just continued what he was doing before Dr. Sasaki stood up and decided to leave the office.

"Let's talk another time, Johannes." Dr. Sasaki said before leaving.

"Future, huh." Following Dr. Sasaki's leaving, Johannes then murmured before the place was occupied with silence.

Cafeteria,

After reporting all the information that he had, Lev and the others then were now sitting at the table eating together but the atmosphere was really bad as Alisa wasn't around added by the fact that they didn't know what was happening to her.

"Did they know about something about it?" Kanon suddenly asked as she was really curious as to what kind of Aragami they really encountered since the time that she was chosen as a God Eater, never once did she see something powerful like that.

"Yes. They told me that a similar Aragami appeared in the Russia Branch six years ago." Lev then just repeated what Dr. Sasaki said back in the office.

"Russia?" Kanon asked after hearing the word Russia after she suddenly remembered someone who's connected from Russia.

"Yeah. The place where Alisa came from and the reason why she became like that is because it seemed like it was the Aragami that killed her parents." Lev followed while thinking about Alisa's condition. He was thinking about whether to visit her place and see what she was doing, however, he thought that it would be better to leave her alone this time.

Hearing Lev, Kanon, and Sia were shocked to the core after knowing the truth while Shio was just minding her own business as she was more interested in eating than listening to them.

Right after they've eaten, each one of them then leaves the place where Sia and the others decide to train after seeing Lev's fight while Lev surprisingly heads back to his room to clear his mind.

Lev's room,

Upon heading back to his room, Lev immediately took a shower seeing him letting the warm water shower his body while closing his eyes in delight. There were things that happened during the day and he thought that he really needed a day off.

Dr. Oguruma, on the other hand, didn't stop Alisa and just called someone and not before long, Alisa could be found getting carried by two people back to her room while unconscious.
