Midnight Haze

Ii was underwater, it was dark and terrifying. The sun was gone and the all the light had been drained, it was hazy darkness. I felt a slimy thing slither around me, they were everywhere, rubbing up against me, holding me down. I screamed but my lungs filled with salty water.

I jumped awake to the slow current of a boat bobbing back and forth. Nick was gone, and so was everyone else. It was pitch-black now, and I could only see because of one outdoor light. There was a note placed on my lap.

"We went inside to sleep. I didn't have the heart to wake you, after you spent so long trying to sleep."

I pushed myself into a sitting position, and pulled myself up. The blankets were still there, but it had gotten much colder and I was still in my wet-suit.

I grabbed all the blankets, and headed for the side door on the boat. It clicked open, into a small room. There were bags everywhere, and a couch. There was the smallest kitchen I'd ever seen, and two doors. One was a bathroom, and the other was the bedroom lined with bunk beds. I grabbed my bag and headed to the bathroom, slipping into warmer clothes. I pulled on a sweater, and sweatpants. My hair was almost dry so I let it down. It went down in ringlets. I grabbed my bag, and set it back on the couch, cracking the door to the bedroom open. It was dark, but I could see that Nick and Drew shared a bunk bed, Brooke and Joshua shared a bunk bed, and Jess and Caden shared a bunk bed. There was one empty bunk bed which I plopped myself down on. It wasn't very comfortable, but I wasn't as tired anymore. The clock in the corner read 12:47am.

I layed there thinking, for the next hour, until I finally fell asleep again.
