THE DEAL

"So Shelly you said that you want to enter into the entertainment industry mainly into music and your parents want you to study a course related to politics like your brother right," John said. "Yes, so what's the idea," she asked.

"It's like using one stone to kill two birds"' he said further. " Go on," she said eager to hear what he has to say. "You'll tell your parent that you'll study what they say you should study after you finish from music school," he said.

"You're trying to say that I'll have to study two courses. That is I'll go to a music school before studying politics" she said. "Yes, you're right" he answered.

"I think it might work," Billion said. "Since I don't have any other choice I think I'll give it a try but I hope it works," she said. "It's up to you, can you go to college two times or can you study both courses at once," Billion asked. "I'm more than capable" she answered. "Then I think it might work," Billion said. "Thank you," she said to John. "You are welcome" he answered.

"Since it's all sorted out, I have to go. I have a flight in an hour from now" John Billion said standing up. "To where," she asked. "I have an appointment," he said. "Thanks for your time, for coming to see me regardless of your busy schedules," she said. "Anytime and when I come back we'll discuss working together," he said. "Sure, when will you be back," she asked.

"I'll be there for four weeks, that is a month," he said. "Okay bye," she said. "See you when I see you," he said, shook her, and walked out.

"Are you going home now?" John asked Shelly. "No, I'm hungry, I need to eat," she said. She called the waiter and both of them ordered something. In less than a minute what they ordered was brought to them.

"This looks delicious," she said as she was about to eat. "Prayers," he said. "Oh, yeah," she said and prayed a short prayer. Shelly wanted to eat when John stopped her. "What is it again, I have already prayed," she said murmuring. "Let me feed you," he said. "No, no, no, I can eat by myself," she said. "I insist," he said as he tried to put the food in her mouth.

She refused to open her mouth. "Shelly come on, do this for me," he said. "People are watching," she said as an excuse. "Look around you, everyone is minding their business," he said.

"Look at me, I'm wearing a brimmed hat just to come out in public, being here is not safe for me, you don't know people might be watching since now everyone knows I'm the President's daughter" she explained. "I still don't care," he said.

He brought the food close to her mouth and she had no option but to allow him. She ate the food and hid her face in his shoulder. "Shelly, why are you shy," he asked and she was still hiding her face in his shoulder. "You were not like this, why do you get shy anytime you're around me," he asked and she removed her face.

"I don't know maybe it's because I like you," she said. "But you did before," he said. "That time you didn't know but now you know," she said calmly. "You have to get used to it," he said laughing. "You can laugh all you want," she said and picked up her spoon and started eating but this time he did not stop her.

When they were done eating, they came out of the restaurant. She wanted to walk so she did not bother to call her driver. They were walking and talking then Shelly stopped when she got to a supermarket.

"Why the sudden stop?" he asked. "I want to get some packets of candies and biscuits," she said. "What do you need them for," he asked. "My room snacks are finished, I ate all of them this morning when I refused to go for breakfast," she said. "Okay then," he said and they entered the supermarket. It was a fun experience for them, they licked ice cream and ate some burgers before they went home.

He wanted to follow her home but she did not allow him. So he went home and she also did the same. When she entered the house it was around 6 pm, she entered the sitting room and saw her parent watching TV. "Good evening dad, mum," she said as she sat down on the couch facing them.

"Good evening and where are you coming from," her father asked. "I went to see a friend," she said. "Why didn't you inform us that you were leaving, you made us worry and we thought you won't come back," her mother said.

"I would never do that and James knew I was leaving," she said. "James hum," her father said. "Have you and mum had dinner?" she asked. "Yes but you can go and eat," her father said. "No, because I ate out and I'm already filled," she said.

"What are you holding in your hand," her mother asked. "Oh, these are my room snacks," she said. "What happened to the one you bought last week?" her mother questioned. "Yeah, about that, they're finished," she said. "You have to minimize the way you eat these snacks they are not that healthy if you eat too much," her father said. "Yes dad" she answered.

"About yesterday, I shouldn't have shouted at you the way I did," her mother said. "It's okay, I'm sorry for the way I acted," she said and went to hug her mum then she went back to sit down.

"I've finally made my decision," she said. "And," her mother said when James came down the stairs and sat on one of the couches. "James I thought you said you didn't know where Shelly went," her father said. "I wanted her to come back and explain herself" he answered. "Silly boy' her mother responded.

"As I was saying, I've made my decision and I've decided to study what you want me to study after....." she was saying when her mother shouted "yes" in joy. "Let me finish mum," she said. "Sorry honey" her mother answered. "After I finish music school" she completed her statement.

There was silence in the room for a while. She saw her parent murmuring things to themselves, she knew they were deciding on what to tell her.

"We've concluded that we'll allow you to do what you said," her father said. "So it's a deal," she said. "Yes" her parents chorused. "Thank you, dad, thank you, mum," she said and went to embrace them.

After some time, her parent left the sitting room and she was left with James, then she went to sit with him. "What do you want," he asked. "Just some few questions" she answered. "What is it this time," he asked.

"Hum, I got to know that Diamond is dating Princess, while Jessy your younger...sister is with Jimmy. What about you?" she asked as she put some stress on the word younger. "No one" he answered. "Don't lie to me" she said tickling him and he laughed. "Okay, I give up," he said. "Go ahead I'm all ears," she said.

"Her name is Kelly, Kelly Adam. I met her when we were studying" he said. "Why does that name sound familiar," she said. "I don't know but you have not met her," he said. "When can I see her," she asked. "When she's back, I'll bring her home," he said. "Looking forward to that day" she answered.

After their discussion, she went to her room and lay down. She called John and told him that his plan worked. He was very happy, they talked for a while before she ended the call.

She felt butterflies in her belly as she finished talking to him. She knew the rest part of the term would be a happy one.
