Chapter 3

Maxwell

I watch Anna stand and look around then all I see is a black figure rush past her and grab me. I don't know what grabbed me. While this figure has me all I feel is writhing in pain. Eventually I black out from the pain. When I awake I'm laying by the entrance of a cave with a giant black wolf laying next to me. I try to move away but the wolf wakes and looks at me. I look at the wolf as it stands. I stand and look up at it. "Hllo, My nam is Zane and I am you pat" Zane says. Zane puts one leg underneath him and lowers his head into a bow. I look at the wolf confused.

"W-w-what?!" I say surprised and confused. "I am you pat" Zane says "Sorry me english no good" . Zane licks my face and his tongue is bigger than my face and feels like sandpaper and oddly smells like vanilla. I try to make sense of everything that has happened in the past few days."Its ok Max, don't think too hard about it"  Alla says. I shake my head and give up on thinking about it all. "ou ar talking ths ell" Zane says curiously

"I've learned to roll with the punches." I reply " Life is an ever moving roller coaster and we need to work on your English"

    I stand up and look around. I walk in the cave and look around and Zane follows me. As I walk deeper I feel compelled to keep walking deeper into the cave. I look at my gold and silver watch and it's waterlogged. As I look at it the water starts to drain from it and it slowly starts to go backward in time. I take off my watch and show it to Zane."Tme fows bakwrds har" Zane says like it's the most normal thing ever. I start to walk deeper into the cave and Zane Follows me. Zane sets a sword in front of me."Tis belongs to ou" Zane says. I pick up the sword and look at it. On one side of the sword it has a dragon along the side of it and on the other side of it has a falcon along it and it's white with a white sheath.

"What am I supposed to do with this" I ask confused "Put it on" Zane replies. I put it on and the strap doesn't bother me.I keep walking when we run into an ape looking thing. I step on a cherry and it pops and the ape looks at me. The ape gets mad and charges and without thinking I drew the sword and make an upward slice and the ape slowly falls in half. I jump back as the ape falls in a heap at my feet. Did I just do that. Looks around and sees blood everywhere and I puke. I stand back up as I notice that there are more apes. They start charging and I subconsciously begin to move the sword like I've done this before. I start ripping through their bodies with no emotion and I watched as the blood flows from there bodies onto the floor. After a while I finish killing all of them.

"What just happened" I ask scared and confused. Looks for Zane but he is nowhere to be found. I start to feel a unanonymous feeling coming from deeper within the cave. I start walking deeper and I hear a scream. I start to sprint towards the scream. As I run I can feel the effects of time going backwards. Suddenly a searing pain tears through my body like nothing I've ever felt before. When I round a corner I see my sister that has been dead for almost ten years and I ran up to her. When I touch her she turns to ash and then two more of her appear and I start crying.She starts asking the same question over and over.

"Why didn't you save me Max?" She asks in a sad tone.He notices her spirit floating around and then I start running. I look around as I run her spirit keeps following me. He stopped just before a cliff and I look down and there are big crystals. I mean like fifty to seventy foot tall crystals. Her spirit gets close to me and pushes me off the cliff.As I'm falling I see images of places I've never seen and places I recognize but don't know where. Then I see the girl from when I left home and she's Hugging me and I don't understand. When I hit the ground gut wrenching pain tears through my body like I just was hit with a sack of bricks. I lay there writhing in agony and go unconscious.
