CHAPTER 30: SYSTEM UPGRADE

Arianna had been so busy as a student, but that didn't stop her from carrying out her daily missions. And going to school counted as one, and thanks to her commitment to being a good student, Arianna had accumulated enough points to upgrade the system. If she upgrades the system, her chances of getting something better will increase, and she was in desperate need of that right now.

Arianna had made significant progress while attending school and carrying out her missions when she was at home in the system space. Not only did she make newer and better handkerchiefs for her entire family. She even started cooking something new because, as a future wife, she needed to know how to cook well.

Arianna had been working very hard on that aspect, and she had progressed from slicing radishes to cooking simple meals so many times that she had become an expert, and if she is given the opportunity to stand in the kitchen, she will astound everyone.

It was unfortunate that she wasn't allowed in the kitchen due to her overly protective parents, but it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. She was going to wait until she could cook proudly for her family.

Arianna was driven back to the mansion by the driver after a long day of school, but not before she had a pleasant conversation with her new friend Freya. After spending a few days with Freya, Arianna realized she wasn't all that annoying. The other girl had good intentions, and listening to her was actually refreshing.

Freya learned things she could never have imagined and didn't feel lonely at school as a result of her. Freya was the first friend she ever made on her own.

Arianna didn't trust her predecessor's decisions because her own choices had led to her demise. Amy was already such a nut case that she didn't want to think about her, and as for the other friends she had avoided like the plague since starting school, she wished there was a way to make them completely disappear from her sight, but she knew that things had to be taken slowly or else someone would become suspicious of her, and she didn't want to see that happen.

Arianna went straight to her bedroom as soon as she entered the house and gave strict instructions not to disturb her. She quickly undressed and changed into some casual clothes before sitting comfortably on her room's bouncy bed. She summoned the system interface, which appeared in milliseconds.

"System upgrade!" Arianna gave the command, and the mechanical voice in her head responded quickly.

[3000p has been deducted. The system upgrade has begun. The system upgrade will take exactly one hour to complete. Please be patient.]

Hearing that the upgrade would only take an hour put Arianna in a good mood because she didn't want to wait a couple of days to see the results.

Her cafes were already taking shape, and the only thing she was missing were the recipes; there was no way in hell she was going to offer only one type of refreshments or snacks.

She wanted to do something significant, something that would make a significant difference in the lives of others. This is why, despite knowing how competitive the market was, she decided to open a café.

She wanted to provide health services, and she wanted to help others in a roundabout way because she couldn't advertise her existence like the system did.

If anyone else found out, not only her but her entire family would be in danger, and she didn't want to be the cause of her family's demise. She had a feeling that if those people found out, she'd be locked up in some basement where a slew of scientists would experiment on her in order to discover her secret.

She didn't get a second chance just to be dissected by some crazed scientists. She simply wanted to make a difference, even if she will remain anonymous.

Arianna fiddled with her phone as she waited for the hour to pass. And when she heard that voice again, she was so overjoyed that if the system was a real thing, she would give it a few smooches to show how happy she was.

Arianna quickly opened the system store because that was her primary concern. She certainly wasn't let down; having the store upgraded was the best thing she could have done after earning so many points.

Previously, she could only obtain a limited number of pills and other items, but now she had a large selection to choose from. Arianna had some extra cash after upgrading the system, so she could still buy a few things.

Arianna quickly looked up recipes, which had been bothering her for a while. She smiled brightly as soon as she saw the recipes. They weren't much, but they were sufficient for her.

She even discovered some recipes that restaurants would kill for, but she didn't need them right now because she didn't plan to open a restaurant. She simply wanted to concentrate on her cafes for the time being, and when she has more money to fund her projects, she plans to open another.

Arianna spent over 500p on two recipe books, which she began flipping through the moment they were in her hands. She took her time studying the recipes, and a smile never left her face.

With this, she knew her cafes would be a hit, but she didn't want to overdo it, so she decided to write down the recipes and give a few to Leah, who will then pass them on to the people in charge. In order to protect the recipes, she will have Leah have the confectioners sign contracts that will prevent them from leaking them. If they breach, they will have to pay the price. In the long run, it was impossible to keep things secret because there are so many business people who are not afraid of committing industrial espionage.

Arianna quickly photocopied six recipes in total, three for snacks and three for drinks. And, as time passes, Arianna will add new items, depending on how the business is doing at the time.

Arianna placed copies of the recipes in a C4 envelope before sealing it. She decided to give them to Leah when the time was right, but Arianna had a bigger problem that required the services of a lawyer.

She didn't trust herself in that area, so she planned to ask her family for one, but who should she ask? She decided to go with the flow and ask Marylyn for assistance if she became stuck. She will undoubtedly be delighted to assist.
