The Mutant Siren

Humans seem simple. Mutants seem complicated. To humans, mutants are like gods. To mutants, humans don't understand the responsibility of power. In a world where half of the global population is made up of mutants, a myth becomes reality. One that has been passed down through the generations of mankind, human and mutant alike. It's always the most simple things that are complicated. (Revised Edition) (The universe in this book will be the basis of stories to come. There are sectors of mutants within themselves, like vampires, elementals and such. However, I don't wish to cram it all into one book. Hence this book hopes to explore mutants as a whole, and in particular, this myth that has become reality.)

Ch 2

There was a myth among people of a siren. It was said she encompassed the power of a mermaid but walked on land. Her beauty would not be outmatched by any other human being. She had the power to reach into the most strongest of minds with a whisper.

This was a myth of the ages. Passed down from Feudal times all the way to modern society.

No one thought much of it. Even the most stoic of shamans and fortune-tellers gave it much thought.

No one expected a young woman living in Pennsylvania, USA to embody the powers of a myth and a legend.

Summer 2012 . A teenage girl named Hannah Vogue was prepping to receive the exam results. She was a studious one. Almost every minute of the day, she was either crunching numbers or making up a new formula. Hannah had an affinity for science and took several exams in biology. Her father was Johnny Vogue. He was a prominent senator known across the country. He stood out because he truly cared for the nation. While his peers usually made empty promises, he'd work tooth and nail to keep his promises. He was married to a fashion designer, Alexei Giovanne. She had her own fashion label, and was in fact Johnny's clothing supplier.

Johnny and Alexei were both mutants. Johnny had the ability to manipulate the air around him, which he had tried so hard to hide from the public. He used to be afraid that they wouldn't take him seriously if the public saw him as 'just another mutie in the ranks'. That was when he met Alexei. She didn't care who saw her powers or what they thought. She taught him, "Why shun what's in your blood? It belongs to you, so only you dictate what you do with it."

From then on, he outed himself as a mutant. He never hid his powers from anyone again. He promised himself to never let his children feel ashamed of having powers.

So she drops out of school. What now?
