Demons

The demon towered over her, it stepped closer, pushing Servare back. It was a giant minotaur, holding an equally large sword.

Servare knew she couldn't defeat this beast; she looked over to the school staff, who were standing on a pile of dead demons. Servare rushed over to them and the demon slowly followed behind, shaking the ground every step.

The school staff looked over to Servare and the beast following her, they jumped up in surprise and ran to the side as to not get hit by it.

Servare was hoping that the school staff would do all the dirty work, and weaken the beast, then she could hit it at the last moment, stealing the kill, but it seemed the staff were just as scared as her, even more perhaps. She ran around but her stamina depleted faster than she was running, soon her only choice would be to fight, but if she fought it straight on she would stand no chance against it.

"I can't run away from it forever, I need to think of a plan."

"Wait, my EXP bar is almost full. If I can level up I'll receive some points, which I can then distribute. If I succeed in doing that, I might have a better chance at winning against that abomination."

"But, once I do, which stat do I spend them on?"

"Hm, strength or agility, it's between those two. Luck would be good, but I'll only receive 5 points. I don't think 5 luck would be enough to guarantee my safety, of course, neither strength or agility can do the same, but they already have one point, which is not that much, but in this kind of situation, I'll need every point I can get. Plus, having my faith in my own hands means I can actually do something to change it, instead of leaving it to luck and hoping for the best.

She looked around and dashed towards a sharp-looking rock.

"But between strength and agility? Which one can help me the most?"

After thinking for a bit she finally came to a conclusion.

"Although its skin is though, it isn't impenetrable; earlier, when I smashed a rock into its leg, although the rock sustained heavy damage so did its leg. Its defense and agility are probably not that high. Its attack is what's scary, but even that has a weakness; everytime it attacks, the weight of it's sword slows it down, making it unable to immediately attack, meaning, I can damage it without the help of extra strength. What I need is an opportunity, an oppening; making agility my best bet."

Servare ran around, looking for something to kill, then a demon underneath a pile of it's dead brethren, squirmed out, basically presenting itself to Servare.

"There."

She rushed towards it, and pounced on it, aiming the rock in between it's two, beady little eyes.

Servare extended her hand and reached for the screen, but just before she made contact, she tripped forward and slammed through the screen, luckily she catched herself with her hands and avoided landing straight on her face.

She lifted herself up, rolled on her side and onto her back.

She sat up and tried to stand, but the floor shook and knocked off her balance. She fell to the ground, and as the floor shook harder she started to panic.

"Shit...!" She looked around to find anything useful in her vacinity, she grabbed some dirt from the ground, and as the demon lowered its sword she threw the sand into its eyes, making it miss, though only slightly.

Servare then rolled to the side and once she got far enough from it, she dragged herself up and stood up. She looked towards the gigantic beast, and saw it trying to rid the sand, she took this chance and immediately summoned the menu.

"There we go. Now I should at least stand a chance against it."

She knelt on the ground, like she was preparing for a race. When the demon got near enough she planted her feet deeper into the ground, right before kicking with all she had, she placed her arms above her head and readied to impale the beast.

She looked for an opening and aimed there, the demon swung his sword to the side, Servare quickly ducked and avoided being sliced, although the same could not be said about her hair, the end of Servare's hair got cleanly chopped off, now her hair only reached to her back.

The beast dragged its sword back up and readied to attack, but it was already too late, Servare reached to its side and sliced it open with the rock she was holding. Blood splattered everywhere, including Servare's clothes, which were now both dusty and bloody.

The demon's pained roar echoed throughout campus as heaps of blood dripped from its wound. Servare stepped back and dropped the rock, which had crumbled from hitting the demon's thick skin.

"Shit, shit, shit! I'm running out of stamina. I need to end this quick!"

She picked up another rock and ran towards the beast, this time putting all her strength into one attack. She aimed for the wound she had made and hoped for the best.

The beast looked down onto her, and moved slightly to its right, the rock grazed the demons flesh, barely making contact. Servare fell forward, and onto her hands, she turned around and in front of her the demon's blade only a few inches away, but just before she got hit the blade suddenly stopped and the beast fell to it's knees, Servare took this opportunity to move back and get out of its range.

The demon dropped its sword, and fell to the ground, revealing a sword stuck in its back as well as a blonde haired man who held the sword. He placed his foot onto the beast's back and pulled out his sword, along with some blood and guts.

Servare rushed towards the demon and checked if it was still alive, luckily it was, although barely. While the blonde-haired man celebrated his victory, Servare took a rock and continuously bashed it into the demon's skull, dealing the final hit.

As soon as the man offered Servare to become his apprentice the people around them started murmuring.

"Leo's getting an apprentice?"

"Oh my god, what an honor that would be!"

"Imagine all the things he could teach you!"

"He's so hot! I'd say yes just for his looks."

Servare looked around and after a while she spoke.

"M-me? Your apprentice?"

"Oh, no need to be nervous, since we're going to be spending time together you should be more casual with me."

"I'm sorry, but who are you?"

The man's proud grin turned into an awkward one.

"Don't you know me? I'm Leonardo."

"I'm sorry, still not ringing any bells."

Servare walked back to the dorms, and locked the door behind her.

"My hoodie's all bloody. I should change."

She walked towards her bag and started searching it, after a few seconds she pulled out another hoodie, this time, black. She took of her hoodie and threw it beside her bag.

"Thank you, although you don't have to do that, I don't really mind."

She grabbed the new hoodie and put it on. She then turned around and sat back down.

Once Servare equipped the box, small white lights started gathering in her hand, they kept gathering until they formed a square, after a while the light disappeared, revealing a small golden box, no bigger than her palm.

She lifted the lid and inside more lights appeared, this time they weren't white, but instead black. They floated up and onto Servare's other hand. They kept merging until they formed a pitch-black sphere. Servare lifted it up and looked at it; it emitted black smoke and oozed black tentacles. After holding it for while servare's hand started feeling cold, she put the sphere down and unequipped it.

"Uh, what is this? Is it bad? It feels really cold."

The orb of darkness

When thrown, the orb will spill black liquid, anyone stepping on it will immediately be trapped by black tentacles. The black liquid is impossible to remove unless light is shone onto it, which it will then evaporate; If inhaled for long enough the poisonous black gas emitting from the black liquid, will kill you; all items dropped in the black liquid won't be retrievable.
