Convergence

"Heal me!" The Burly Cavalier cried out.

From the calm serene scene of a party that Rem had entered with, he had gotten to see the other side… Despair.

The party had been attacked by a group of Goblins, 14 in total. If it was only the Goblins that were their only opponents, Rem was sure the group would have exterminated them easily but a pack of Death wolves had made an appearance too.

The Cavaliers were taxed with dealing the Death wolves while the Mages were to deal with the Goblins but it was not as easy as they had expected, since the Death wolves were much faster opponents than expected.

The Female Earth Magus screamed out as two Goblins bashed her with their wooden bats.

"I call upon the full force of a well of flames, Ensnare my opponents within it, I call forth Flame Vortex!"

The Squad Leader brought forth a swirling tornado of flames, aiming to protect the Earth Magus but was cut short as a Death Wolf which had bypassed the Cavaliers instantly appeared in front of him, biting into his right hand.

"Heal!" He cried out, prioritizing the safety of the Squad Leader before that of the Burly Cavalier as a healing aura covered the Flame Magus instantly, A Cavalier rushed forward and stabbed the Wolf that attacked the Squad Leader.

The Magic Iron Sword went through and the Wolf let go instantly, it's face going pale as it dropped to the ground lifeless.

Rem on the other hand being the intelligent young boy that he was eyed the Fallen Goblins and a small smile tugged at his lips.

Rem was hidden behind a rock with the equipment, determined not to get in their way.

Rem tapped on the Yes and their green aura flew toward him, colliding and submerging within his body.

Rem nodded slightly, it made sense that he would not receive the same skill of before. But this was surely strange, Instead of getting a new skill, He got 3 points to his STR stat.

Rem took note that he had seen that STR stat before, when the Purple screen had given him a Numerical representation of his 'Status'.

He felt stronger than before, and to solidify his claims, he lifted the heavy bag. It felt a lot lighter now.

His eyes went to the fallen wolf and they let off a green glow as Rem took note of the soul, the flickering aura was a lot larger than the aura that Goblins exuded.

Rem hit the Yes button and the aura shot toward his body, merging with him quickly. A series of tabs appeared in front of him and it looked like he got a new skill, something that was actually useful for combat.

Rem could only guess Flash Movement was the skill the Death Wolf used to bypass the Burly Cavalier, moving so fast that a D-rank Cavalier couldn't even keep up.

'At least I gained something other than Baton Smash,' Rem thought as the Healer finally healed up the Burly Cavalier.

"Finally," He muttered and Rem's eyes widened, his Magic Iron Sword seemed to blacken as his crimson gaze remained unfaltered, penetrating the eyes of the Death Wolves.

"C- Convergence," He muttered and moved forward, faster than Rem's eyes could see.

Black and red flashes of lightning covered his entire body as he appeared behind the Wolves, blood rocketing into the air.

The show of strength left Rem in awe but the Burly Cavalier quickly bent onto one knee and started breathing erratically.

'Such a technique,' Rem couldn't help but wonder in amazement.

For a moment there, The Cavalier shot forward, enveloped in black and red lightning and then he couldn't keep up anymore but the pack of Wolves were dealt with, there were 5 of them, their corpses mangled and decapitated.

Rem clicked on Yes and their green aura came shooting into his figure, the amazement of getting stronger was still there.

'Murderous Intent?' Rem thought, he didn't have time to ponder more on it as the Burly Cavalier let out a gruff sigh.

"Kid, are you still alive?" He asked.

The other Cavaliers had dealt with the remaining two Goblins and Rem quickly absorbed their souls, giving himself 1 Added point to his Strength stat.

"Yes," He replied, carrying the Equipment bag behind him.

Not only did this bag contain equipment but it also contained Healing potions, food and the sort. A party could spend over a week in the dungeon as venturing to the Boss room would take a lot of time, and if they lost their food along the way, they might as well become victims of the Monsters that they were trying to kill.

"Good," The Burly Cavalier said, sitting on the ground and then turning to the Healer, "What the fuck were you thinking?! If you healed me first before the Squad Leader, I would have been able to deal with the Wolves far much earlier and my fellow Cavaliers wouldn't be as exhausted as they were,"

"Magus are more important," The Healer said, his blue eyes narrowing at the Cavalier, "If I had hesitated for even one more moment, The Squad Leader might have had his hand ripped off!"

His voice was hoarse, it was clear that Rem and the Healer were in the same position- This was their first Dungeon raid.

'But this boy…'

Rem handed the Burly Cavalier a can of water.

"And so what?!" The Burly Cavalier let out after taking a really generous sip of water, "All you would have done is spend relatively more MP to heal him, besides if one of my Cavaliers didn't kill the Wolf, your Healing would have been in vain,"

The dungeon was silent as everyone was left to contemplate, Rem quickly handed out cans of water to the other Raiders, he was quite aware that being a Dungeon raider wasn't an easy job.

Rem took a seat on the ground, a little bit far away from the group and decided to open the Purple Screen.

[Monster Monarch System]

'Monster Monarch System? So it's not a Purple screen,' Rem thought.

It made sense, if he was able to absorb the souls of Monsters then it would be something related to monsters.

He tapped on the tab and a larger screen appeared.

Rem quickly tapped on Status and his status was revealed.

Rem's eyes widened in surprise, The last time he had seen that MAG – Magic Stat, it was in 0… but why, Why was it in 1 now?
