The Boss Room

He didn't have any skills related to magic or so he thought, Baton Smash was a physical skill and the same thing applied to Flash Movement- which prompted him to exert his body to the limit to be able to gain such speed.

The only other skill which might have led to him unlocking Magic was the Murderous Intent skill, and now that he thought about it, That couldn't be a Physical skill.

Usually in this world, If one wanted to be a Magus, they had to be awakened. This meant their bodies would be charged with the same magical essence that flooded the Dungeon.

Magus stones were created for this reason, they contained magical energy and once a magus stone was consumed, the magic that lay inside was instantly released into the body as the stone dissolved into nothingness.

Only a 15% of tested people were able to become Magus, and the elements and skills they would gain upon awakening are random.

Rem hadn't felt or seen murderous intent in play before but he felt it was a powerful Skill.

It had already been two days of traveling through the dungeon, So far Rem has gotten used to the crew at hand.

The dungeon stretched on and on but Rem didn't get tired, Rather he was excited to absorb more monsters.

Throughout their time at the dungeon, they had only met two kinds of monsters which were the Goblins and the Death Wolves.

But Rem at least learned something about the Monster Monarch System, With every 3 souls he devoured after collecting the skills that the souls could offer, they add 1 to a random stat.

"This is tiring," The Healer said.

Rem couldn't blame him, Walking for two days with little rest had taken its toll on him too but he knew better than showing weakness to the people around him.

The bulky Cavalier, who Rem had come to know as Drew raised his eyes at the young man.

"You're a man, you know and no one's going to take care of you forever," Drew said, taking a swing of the can of water in hand.

"If it was a woman saying that, I'd feel sorry for her but you are a man, Soon you'll have a family and see how lazy you are,"

Rem sweat dropped slightly, for experienced hunters, Walking for two days straight was similar to a walk in the park but for people like this healer here which was a Magus.

There was absolutely no way for him to gain such a build.

"Look at the Earth Mage, she's still steady on her feet and I can't believe you're being outdone by a Kid," Drew said, his eyes flying wide in sheer mockery as he gave the boy with emotionless eyes a small nod.

They didn't have any time to continue the argument further when howls of Wolves quickly enraptured the entire parry.

Drew quickly called the shots as he was more experienced in stuff like these.

"Cavaliers, Stand your ground at the front line," Drew said and brought his hand to the sheath on his waist. He pulled it out dreadfully, letting the steel glisten in the dim lit cavern.

"Magus, take the position behind us and cover the healer!" Drew spoke again, "And the little boy too, prioritize his safety,"

The Squad Leader and Earth Magus nodded as the Healer stood behind them.

"Healer, cast Support magic so we have a better chance of taking them out quickly!" Drew ordered and the Healing Magus jolted back into reality.

He made a small chant and golden aura exploded around the bodies of the Cavaliers, signifying their enhanced combat capabilities.

Rem was behind the support of a big rock, He didn't care whether powerful mages were going to protect him.

The hordes made themselves known and Drew counted them.

'There are 14 of them,' Drew thought.

He thought about using Convergence but that would drain a lot of his energy and he felt like there were more of them in hiding.

'Convergence will be saved for later,' Drew thought with a grunt as he brandished his Magic Iron blade.

"Today, We advance!" Drew cried out, moving forward within the blink of an eye. The first Death Wolf in his sight was immediately slashed,

The head soared into the air, coated with blood as the onslaught between the Party and Monsters began.

The arena was bloodied, the Cavaliers made quick work of their opponents, each slash connecting and dealing gruesome damages to the enemies.

But the monsters were relentless, more death wolves emerged from the shadows and continued their barrage.

Rem was not inactive through his time here, as each monster kept dying, He kept on collecting their soul essences.

#####

"Convergence!" Drew cried out.

Black and red lightning burst into existence around Drew as he moved forward, his crimson eyes were filled with determination as he sliced through the battlefield, leaving destruction in his wake.

Rem could never get used to seeing Convergence, the way Drew who was far more taller than anyone here became a flash was a mystery to him.

Rem still collected the souls of the dead monsters and he felt his strength increase once more, Drew was still exhausted after using Convergence but that was expected.

Seeing that the Cavaliers armed with the buffs from the healer, Rem prepared to give his mandatory can of water to everyone.

"Don't move," Drew warned.

Everywhere fell silent as Drew gave his warning, He stood up and smiled.

"We're finally here, The Boss Room," He finished as the darkness vanished, revealing thick wooden twin doors.

All of the Party members gazed at the door with surprise and awe, well all except Rem who was cautious.

He could feel energy beyond that door, energy unlike anything he had ever felt before. The energy beyond that door felt domineering but again it was just a monster, A D-rank boss nonetheless.

"If you want to take time to gather yourself before the final battle against the Dungeon takes place then feel free," The Squad Leader said, "Take some elixirs to replenish your magical energy from Rem, because once we enter the Boss room, there is no turning back,"

Rem moved forward and handed Drew an elixir.

"He said you can take some to replenish your energy," Rem said.

Drew nodded, To Rem, their best chance were the Magus and Drew.

The other Cavaliers were strong but not as strong as Drew.

Drew was faster and even had a skill to boast off, Convergence.

With that move in play, Rem was aware that they stood a chance of defeating the boss.
