The Mage with an Existential Crisis (Hololive Fanfic)[Under Rewrite]

A story of old, wherein demons, magic, and all sorts of supernatural exists. A story that told about the truth of the world, uncovering its myths and mysteries. A story of an all powerful mage searching for his purpose in the vast world, searching, for a place to call home. A story where Hololive Idols are more than just idols. +----------------+ A/N: Yahallo! I have decided to post this here as well, since its what I'm currently writing upon. As for those who have read my previous books, whichever it is. I still haven't found a single ounce of motivation or ideas in my bones to continue them for now. I'll occassionally write on the drafts, but for now. I present you my latest work, I haven't seen much Hololive fanfics around, so I decided to make one. I don't own Hololive, the idols, or anything that may came along them. I only own my OC, and probably the plot(?). For those who are wondering if this is a harem or not. Big no. I can't write harems, as simple as that. Some Idols, or hololive girls might be a bit OOC/out of character since I'm not that good to perfectly imitate how they act. Hope you guys enjoy.

Enma's POV

"Domain Expansion! Elemental Synergy!" I slammed both of my palms down to the ground and enveloped everyone in my domain.

Pointing at Gura and Ina, I pulled them apart by shifting the ground underneath them. I sighed in relief before turning to the side, I met the torrent of water cascading towards me.

Grunting, I rotated my palms to the side and twisted to a circle. The magicka essence in the water followed my palm and circled me and formed a huge dome of water.

Snorting through the pressure of so much water magicka essence, I squatted and slowly brought both my hands to each other. One from the top and the other at the bottom.

"Vaporize!" Pulling my palms abruptly, the water circling me exploded and turned to water vapors.

I panted before suddenly lifting my right arm to the side to block a blow from Gura's trident.

"Gura!" I growled angrily at her before shifting my weight to the side abruptly. Just in time to dodge a tentacle from behind.

The tentacle hit Gura, launching her quite far. Gritting my teeth, I summoned Pietra, twirled around, and slashed.

Ina screamed in pain as a tentacle got sliced into strips by Pietra.

"ENOUGH!" The domain trembled before two mountain giants formed from the ground and fought Bloop.

Bloop roared in anger as he was brought down and dispelled. The ground trembled for a while, making everyone stumble.

A minute later, Gura and Ina both glared at me.

I snapped back a glare at them.

"So that's how you want to play? Fine." Throwing Pietra to my pocket space, I disappeared from my spot and appeared behind Ina.

She noticed it immediately and ordered her tentacles to attack me.

Her tentacles tried to get ahold of me, I scoffed before I pointed my finger at them and igniting the fire magicka essence around it, they caught fire and exploded within seconds.

Ina once again screamed in pain, this time much louder as a bunch of her tentacles is reduced to ashes.

"You damned magician!" She shrieked at me and I winced at the loud sound.

"You are annoying!" A kick to the chin silenced her up and sent her spinning and flying to the air.

I had to bring my arms up to summon an earth shield immediately as Gura's trident flew through the air and towards me and Ina.

Ina was safe due to me kicking her up to the air prior, as for me. The trident wasn't able to penetrate the earth shield and got stuck.

However, Gura wasn't giving up anytime soon. Immediately following the trident, the moment it got stuck on the earth shield she jumped on its shaft making it bend lower.

I groaned when she shot up in the air and followed Ina.

"Stubborn brat!" Pumping my legs with enhancement magicka, I snorted before jumping. The ground cratered as I flew through the air.

Gura immediately turned around pointed her open palm at me before closing it and bringing it back.

My eyes contracted before slapping air beside me, an explosion of air pushed me out of the way as Gura's trident soared just past where I was earlier.

Gura snorted, her eyes still clouded with anger and hatred as she turned back and faced Ina.

Sighing in frustration, I made two water whips while flying and taking ahold of Gura's ankles. Once that's done, I immediately made an air platform and stopped.

I twisted my waist to right and pulled. Not letting Gura react fast, I turned, flipped, and sent her careening towards the ground.

Gura only somersaulted and landed softly to the ground, before glaring up at me.

I turn my head back to Ina's spinning figure before crossing my arms to defend myself from a tentacle slapping towards me.

I channeled magicka into my arms and braced the impact of the tentacle.

I grunted as I was sent flying towards the ground. Tensing my muscles yet again and filling it with magicka, I braced for impact for my feet to hit the ground.

The moment it did, the ground suddenly felt like mud as it sank to my knees and I slid a few more meters before coming to a stop. From my feet towards a few meters in front, a trench was formed.

Looking upfront, Ina descended softly to the ground while Gura immediately thrust her trident towards her and clashed with her once again.

"Women are really a pain in the ass when they want to." Grumbling to myself, I pulled my feet from the ground and stretched my body.

I narrowed my eyes and stared at Gura and Ina's clashing figures. Exchanging blow from blow, tentacles to trident.

The land ruptured around them as Gura's trident bashed it from missing Ina's tentacle. Ina's tentacles continued to pierce and make waves upon waves of attacks from the ground below and from the air above.

I sighed in satisfaction as the magicka essence coursed through my veins without rest.

'I can't fight these two head-on. Regardless of how they look, they are surprisingly strong enough to throw me around. I need a spell that can go toe to toe against these two. Something with superb defense to tank blows and fast reflex to dodge vital attacks. Aha!' I smirked as I remember an old man from before, one who coats himself with lightning magicka essence and can topple a mountain with his body alone.

Taking inspiration from that old man who uses lightning magicka as if a part of himself, I made a spell to imitate his form and technique.

'I really need to thank that old guy. To think that you can overload your body with lightning and give you superb defense as well as fast reflexes. But this will render me unable to use lightning magicka for a while.' I thought to myself as my Grimoire floated in front of me.

"Lightning Magicka..." I muttered slowly as I approached Gura and Ina.

Neon-orange lightning started to spark and dance around me in arcs as the magicka essence became erratic.

Thick dark and grey clouds formed above the heavens as dragon-like orange lightning flashed every now and then amid the ominous clouds.

Gura and Ina immediately noticed the change in the atmosphere and backed away from each other. They both simultaneously stared at me in vigilance.

I looked at them coldly as a cold smirk made its way to my lips.

"You don't want to listen? I suppose a little roughhousing can make you listen." Gura snarled at me.

"Why are you getting in my way?!" I chuckled.

"Oh, now you decided to talk to me, Gura." She snorted distastefully.

"Stop being like an annoying fly! You should be helping me! She killed my parents and Sky! The ones who treated you as our family! WHY ARE YOU STOPPING ME FROM KILLING HER?!" I winced slightly at her accusing tone as well as her voice cracking.

"I---" I frowned before sighing and leaning to the side. A tentacle erupted from the ground behind me and glanced past me.

"Enough talk!" I turned my head towards Ina who is sneering at me.

"I'll explain later Gura. For now, please cooperate with me." Gura scoffed and childishly stomped her foot.

"NO!" I groaned at her answer. Not that I blame her, but this is not the time to explain things when the enemy is just right in front of you.

'Anyone who does that is stupid.' Shaking my head, I concentrated on my spell as it slowly but surely grew complete. Ina must've noticed this immediately and laughed madly.

"Yes! Show me your true power, Arch-Mage Enma! SHOW ME!" I blankly stared at Ina while her face distorted to one of great madness and euphoria. I snarled inwardly as a sliver of despair flashed deep beneath her crazed violet eyes.

'Hang in there, it will be over soon.' I took a deep breath as the lightning arcs became thicker and thicker. I felt it jumped and snaked around my skin as a familiar feeling of lightness made its way through my whole body.

I closed my eyes for a bit as the powerful feeling filled my whole being before finishing the chant.

"Lightning Heavenly Body!" I clenched my fist as a thick bolt of lightning struck from the sky and bathe my body in an ethereal glow.

I opened my eyes and watched in slow motion as Gura's trident rips through the air and heads towards my chest.

Meanwhile to the side, Ina's tome started to emit a black and violet glow as dark abyssal portals slowly conjured behind her.

Finally, I looked down at my hands and found them surrounded by a deep orange magicka essence.

I clenched my hands into fists as a surge of boundless power filled me from within.

'I can't maintain this for long, I'll finish this as fast as I can.' Nodding to myself, I flashed forwards towards Gura's trident and took a hold of it.

Gura's eyes widened when she saw me holding her trident nonchalantly.

"Surprised?" I didn't give her time to speak before I batted her away with her own weapon.

Smirking, I turned around abruptly and punched. Ina's painful shouts echoed out as a dense collection of her tentacles that tried to sneak attack me, we're blown to smithereens.

"Aren't octopuses supposed to be fast or something? Why are you slow like a snail?" I leaned back slightly, making my back parallel to the ground as Gura came flying over from behind.

Her right foot extended, and her expression is that one of shock as I slowly turned my eyes to her.

"Hello there." I grabbed her extended foot before slamming her to the ground.

"Agh!" Gura shouted in pain as she got stuck in the ground.

Smirking, I snapped my fingers and manipulated the earth to form a bind around Gura's limbs.

She growled angrily at me and tried to get free from her restraints. I shook my head before bitch slapping towards my back.

A horrifying shriek sounded out as a combination of a rat and a sea urchin went flying into the air.

"Disgusting." I wasn't however, able to react on time when two claws erupted from the ground and grabbed my ankles.

Grunting, I tried to pull away but Ina's tentacles immediately attacked from all sides.

I sneered before flaring my lightning armor and took every attack with minor injuries.

'Phew, if it wasn't for the armor. My body would be heavily injured now.' I sighed internally.

I then pointed my left hand towards the ground and chanted a spell.

"Earth Magicka: Fissure!" Another horrifying shriek echoed from the ground below as a wide ravine formed just beneath my feet.

I saw from the corner of my eyes that Gura is gaping at the large ravine that was just formed just beside her.

I floated in the air right above the ravine and examined the mole-like abomination from below.

After a moment or so, I shook my head and turned my head to the side, from the corner of my eye, I saw Ina summoning more abominations from those violet-black portals.

"Thunder Thrust!" I faced Ina and brought back my right arm that is holding Gura's trident.

Lightning sparked and danced around the shaft and the tips of the trident as I took aim of Ina's figure.

Harrumphing and grunting in effort, I threw my right arm forwards and sent out a thick spear of lightning towards Ina.

Ina chuckled to herself before summoning abominations from the portals behind her and used them as meat shields.

More screeches are heard and I'm getting annoyed by those things.

Ina chuckled and let the trident fly past her, bringing along two abominations, and buried itself inside a hill.

"I suppose it's the perfect time for him to show his might. After all, he is my partner." Snapping my fingers, a bolt of stray lightning fell from the sky and hit the ground below me.

A magicka circle sparked to life as Zinogre's monstrous form surfaced.

"ROARRR!" I patted his head as he stood right below me.

"Go, deal with those pesky abominations for me bud." Zinogre snorted before dashing in lightning speed towards Ina's summons.

I floated down to the ground before turning around and catching a fist.

Behind that fist, Gura snarl's at me before twisting and landed a roundhouse kick to my temple making me stumble slightly.

'Damn, even with lightning armor, her hits are still heavy. Are you sure you are a child Gura?!' I questioned before punching out.

Gura's fist hit mine and a shockwave was emitted from the clash. The ground ruptured as we both stumble to regain our balance.

"Can you give it a rest?" I muttered to myself before somersaulting up and dodged a low sweep from Ina's tentacle.

I glared at Ina from while in the air and brought back both my arms.

"Thunder Cannon!" Sending out multiple thrusts, the air compressed and made out a rumbling sound before reaching Ina.

Ina just sneered at me as her tentacles wrapped around her. I smiled at that.

"Looks like even when it comes to intelligence your brain suffered. That's a sound attack bitch. The air cannons were just a side effect." The attack hit head-on and a thunderous roar echoed out along with Ina's screeches of pain.

My pupils contracted suddenly when I felt a hand rest on my foot. I looked down and saw Gura smiling ferociously at me.

"Uh, mercy?" She grinned savagely before throwing me down to the ground, hard.

I winced in pain before jumping out immediately from the crater I made.

I watched as Gura made it bigger when her feet smashed down. I then paled when the realization sinks in that she accurately landed in between the position of the legs in the crater.

"Oi oi oi! Are you trying to ruin my future, Gura?!" Her hand reached out from the crater and she jumped out.

"What do you think, Enma-nii?" I backed away a few steps as she stared at me with her head tilted to the side.

Her blue eyes glazed over and her expression blank.

"Bad Gura, bad!" I flashed my way over behind her. Gura tried to turn around but she was too slow.

I elbowed her from behind and sent her flying, I tapped the ground lightly and followed suit.

I looked back towards Ina and saw her recuperating from my earlier attack. I channeled lightning essence to my arms again and prepared another Thunder Cannon.

Zinogre however, has other ideas. The sound of thousand birds chirping filled the air as Zinogre zoomed in from above and landed a devastating blow to Ina, zapping and paralyzing her, while simultaneously sending her flying to the opposite side.

She was sent far away, with Zinogre upon her tracks. I stopped channeling magicka essence and focused on Gura's flying figure.

"You should to never aim for a man's scrotum!" Flashing above her, Gura's eyes widened in pain as my right foot made contact with her stomach.

"That's his future we are talking about!" Gura screamed in pain as she was once again sent flying towards the earth and crashed down heavily.

"This time, stay down!" Landing lightly, I clapped my hands as a big hand made of earth surfaced and took hold of Gura.

She snarled and shouted at me in anger as I placed my palms on the hand.

"Sealing Magicka: Silence." Gura went slack as she noticed her magicka essence rapidly slow down and stopped enchanting her body.

"No, please! Let me go! I have to... I have to avenge mom and dad! I have to... I have to avenge them!" I deactivated my lightning armor and softly patted Gura's head.

Her tears flow down freely as she struggled weakly, begged me to let her go.

"Gura... That's enough, let me do this. You are no match for her, or whatever is trying to control her." Gura sniffed and looked at me in confusion, as the anger fades away from her azure eyes.

"Control? What do you mean?" I swiped the tears from her cheeks and looked back at Zinogre and Ina clashing together.

The ground around them is ruptured, scorched, turned upside down, and even cratered.

"Look into her eyes Gura, deep beneath those crazed eyes. What do you see?" Gura did as she was told before gasping.

"You see it don't you? She is in pain just like you. Whoever is controlling her must have also taken everything she ever loved away from her. Just like what it did to you and me."

"She... I... What's her name... Enma-nii?" I smiled softly as Gura's voice lost its anger as well.

"Ina, a friend of Amelia Watson. Someone like those girls from before." I subconsciously gripped my hands tight.

"I want to save her, although she had part of killing auntie, uncle, and Sky due to her having that Tome and unleashing whatever it is that is controlling her. We have to catch her and save her from it before everything is too late."

I turned to Gura and found her staring at me helplessly.

"What are you looking at?" She chuckled weakly at me.

"It's creepy when you are all heroic Enma-nii. It does not fit you, go back to being a sarcastic assho- mhmhmh?!" I covered her mouth when she was about to finish her sentence and glared at her.

"Oi, I already told you, I'm not a hero. Also, where the hell did you learn that word?! Ow!" I looked at my hand and found bite marks.

"Really?" She grinned smugly at me.

"Just promise me... I'm still skeptical if she is possessed or not, promise me this. If she isn't, please... For mom, dad, and Sky." I smiled fondly as I determinedly nodded.

"Don't worry, I'm not wrong this time. I know those eyes all too well... I've stared in countless eyes like those eyes enough to make me puke. I can never be wrong about that." I thought the latter part to myself before getting distracted by a pained roar.

"Zinogre!" I whipped my head towards Ina and found Zinogre pinned down by twenty ugly abominations.

I growled before activating my lightning armor again.

"Be back in jiffy Gura. Stay here." I patted her head before tapping the ground lightly.

"Lightning Magicka: Hermes Boots!" Lightning magicka converges on my feet before forming into a pair of boots with wings of lightning at the sides.

"Lightning Magicka: Lightning Arrows!" Snapping my fingers, I closed into Ina and Zinogre. Behind me, I felt the spell do its work and created hundreds of lightning arrows.

I pointed towards the abominations and launched every arrow at them. Meanwhile, I used Hermes Boots to fly over to Ina.

"Oi girl with a weird tentacle fetish. Heads up!" Landing just a few meters away from her, I brought back my arms and launched several Thunder Cannons at her.

"Those damn things again?! You won't fool me a second time, Arch Mage!" Ina drew several magicka circles in the air as she dodged the Thunder Cannons.

I narrowed my eyes and smirked.

"I'm not stupid like you. That was just a distraction, now Zinogre!" I watched as her eyes widened and she turned her head to the side and found Zinogre's open jaws.

Around him are the dead carcasses of the ugly abominations, scorched and coated with lightning sparks.

Lightning magicka crackled in the air as they condensed above his mouth.

"Have a taste of Zinogre's Thunder Beast Ray Beam!" I snapped my fingers as Zinogre released his attack.

A highly concentrated beam of lightning and magicka directly hit Ina. Her awful and pain-filled screams and screeches got drowned out by the sound of thunder that accompanied Zinogre's attack.

I squinted my eyes carefully to see what is happening inside that beam of lightning.

'I can still feel her magicka essence, no wait. What is this?! This dark and ominous aura is this the thing possessing her?! Is it finally going to show its true form?!' I motioned to Zinogre and we both backed away to Gura's place.

"Are you sure you are trying to save her, and not kill her? Because from my standpoint Enma-nii. That is overkill." I glared at her, before noticing Pekora, Hoshimachi, and Amelia beside her and waved at them.

"She regenerates too fast, and the only spell that came to mind that will incapacitate her and not kill her is Zinogre's, Ray Beam. But right now, I think we did more than just incapacitate her."

"That thing that is controlling her is going to show its true form anytime soo- it's here!" My eyes widened when a huge tentacle, easily dwarfing the previous ones, appeared. This time, the coloration of the tentacle is dark grey, unlike the earlier violet.

Slowly but surely, a huge figure appeared and the domain shook intensely.

'Shit, my domain won't show this kind of reaction unless...' I felt a hand tap my shoulder and I turned to Pekora.

"Enma, your domain, its peko-cracking peko." She pointed upwards and I immediately noticed the glaring crack that runs through the fake sun.

"Is that bad?" Amelia asked.

"Very bad, Enma-nii's domain is a derivative of a God's Divine Realm. Basically a mini version of it. Anything under Divine cannot affect the domain from the inside and the outside." Gura elaborated as she was released from the earth hand.

"Wait if it cracked now then doesn't that mean..." Hoshimachi blanched immediately. I nodded grimly as the huge figure gradually became corporeal and familiar.

"That's a God, and I have a feeling I know which one this is..." I gazed blankly at it.

"Cthulhu..." I muttered under my breath in disbelief at seeing something that counts as a children's fairytale, one specifically used to scare kids from doing naughty things.

'I didn't know that the myth about you is true and you are real. This is going to get ugly real fast.' I slammed my hands to the ground and made three lava giants and made them stall Cthulhu. I then felt a wave of anger once again before I turned to Gura who walked a few meters in front.

She just stood there, glaring at Cthulhu's gradually emerging true form. My eyes widened and I stood up immediately and dashed towards her. My body shivering as she bit her lip.

'Gura whatever you do, don't do it!' I prayed in my mind as I gradually drew near to her. Extending my arm, I reached out to her.

'DAMNIT! Why do I feel so slow right now?! Is the lightning armor no--.' I stared at my hand saw the lightning armor fading and flickering and a thought crossed my mind.

'I won't make it...'

Those few centimeters apart seemed so long when Gura looked at me with tears in her eyes. I panicked even more when she mouthed the words "Sorry".

Then she disappeared from my sight, my fingers hung into the air for a split moment before a creeping coldness enveloped me. Flashes of images start to appear in my vision as time stood still.

In the vision, Gura lay in my arms, a gaping hole located in her stomach and chest. She was speaking but none was heard.

But then, Gura was replaced by another girl.

"Enma-nii... Don't cry, I'm okay see? It doesn't hurt."

"________ no... I-I, I can fix this. J-just, hang in there okay?! Please!"

"If you do that, then wouldn't those girls be dead too? I'll be fine Enma-nii. If you don't rescue them, then who will? Now go Enma-nii... Be the hero you always wanted to be..."

Something snapped inside me as the Domain shattered due to Cthulhu's ever-expanding size.

Summoning my Grimoire, I looked up and stared at a tiny figure rushing towards Cthulhu.

"I'm not losing you too Gura..." I muttered as I placed my left hand on top of a page in my Grimoire. I raised my right hand and focused solely on Gura's tiny figure.

"Vacuum." Green magicka circle alighted and form in front of my open palm as a terrible suction force was emitted from it.

I watched as Gura's figure slowed to a drawl before stopping entirely.

"Come. Let your big brother deal with this." I whispered fondly as the suction force emitted a stronger response before pulling back Gura to my side.

I placed my hand on her neck before chanting a sleeping spell. I sighed in great relief as my shoulders felt more relaxed than ever.

Looking up, I saw Cthulhu crushing the lava giants I made earlier before looking down at me.

I looked back apathetically as Pekora's presence approached behind me.

"Take her far away from here, along with Hoshimachi and Amelia. I have a bone to pick with this guy." I felt Pekora flinched to the sudden coldness and apathy in my voice before taking Gura's sleeping figure and jumped away.

"But we can help!" I looked back at them with dead eyes. All of them flinched, Hoshimachi and Amelia more so.

"That thing! Cthulhu or whatever his name is, have my friend! I'm not just gonna stand back and do nothing! Why did I learn and trained to be a magician if I will not use my magicka?!" I sighed as Amelia stood in front of me, her eyes glazing in determination.

I looked to the side and stared at Hoshimachi, she only smiled weirdly and brought out her golden axe.

"Pekora you-" My eyes widened as Pekora slammed her lips against mine suddenly.

"I'm staying peko, you can't just have all the peko-fun to yourself peko. Plus, I've been meaning to test out Pekodam for a while now." I scratched my head as I stared at the three of them.

"Stubborn girls, why am I surrounded with you lots?" They only just grinned at me. I shook my head and turned back to Cthulhu.

"Now then---" I stopped mid-speech as a cannonball impacted Cthulhu's face.

Blinking in surprise, I turned my head to the right and found a huge Pirate Ship floating in the air. At the figurehead, a lady dressed ina pirate's captain attire stood.

"Enma Boya~, the first thing you come in my city and you already brought trouble. You really are making it hard for this lady." Hearing that voice made my creeping apathy recede and a small smirk crept its way into my lips.

"Marine, you horny pirate, you really know how to pick the perfect time for an entrance do you?"
