Chapter 48: Lost Idol

I left Felix on his chair while I went to make the arrangements for his execution. I felt sorry for him, I really did. It really was a shame that he was incapable of experiencing Jessica’s glory. Even more so because I understood that Jessica wanted him to. It really was sad.

At the same time, I couldn’t deny I felt a certain level of satisfaction at the idea of having Felix killed. He had tried to come between me and Jessica once before. He never would again.

Speaking of Jessica, Linc should be getting back with her soon.

Our goddess would certainly require some soothing leading up to and probably after the execution, but she would understand that this was what was best for her soon enough.

I frowned as another thought occurred to me.

Jessica’s followers that Linc had recruited had gotten here over an hour ago. While I’d wanted Jessica and Felix brought back together, even if Linc was bringing her separately, she should have only been a few minutes behind.
