chapter 4
I woke up early the next morning, so I won't get insulted by my boss again, I took a bath quickly and wore a black pencil skirt with a white blouse, I put on some light makeup and made my way downstairs, mia already left for school and she cooked breakfast before leaving, I gobbled everything up and left the house in a hurry and got into my usual morning bus, I'm pretty sure the driver knows me by now. It took 30 minutes to get to the office it was already 8:00 when I got into the building, I took the normal elevator to the 1st floor and ran into the office, the CEO usually comes at 8:30 so I had enough time to prepare his schedule for today, I quickly sorted everything out and before I could even take a minute to admire my work the doors flew open, I stood up immediately and turned to look at who was there, my boss then emerged from the doors looking dashing as ever, no I can't be thinking of my boss like that, as he walked towards his desk, we briefly made eye contact I followed after him, he turned to look at me, and then I realised what I was doing.
" uhm good morning boss" I greeted him, he just gave me an 'hmm', how rude I mean he only speaks to me only when he wants to scold me and that's all , I quickly went back to where I was sitting and reviewed his schedule, he had a meeting with ANDERSON CORPORATION at 9:00 and it was already 8:45, I went up to his desk and stood still.
"sir you have a meeting with ANDERSON CORPORATION at 9:00" I reported, he looked up from the documents he was reading and looked up at me, like he was waiting for me to do something, but I just stood there not knowing what to do.
" miss tessa I suppose we aren't going to walk there" he said in disdain, I quickly got the hint and called the company driver to get a car ready, I turned to him but he already stood up and started walking towards the door, I trailed behind him, we got into the executive elevator and went down to the car that was waiting for us, he got into the backseat of the car and I got into the front, i looked up at the company as the car zoomed off, I quickly got the files needed for the meeting and passed it to him and briefed him about the meeting, he studied the files till we got there, I came down from the car and opened the door for him, he got down from the car and walked towards the company with me trailing behind, it was as massive as the company I worked in, I didn't have time to admire the office with how fast my boss was walking as if he just wanted this done and over, we walked to the conference room as we were about to enter, I felt someone's arms around me in a hug, I was shocked and so was my boss, he was glaring daggers at me, i pushed the person off me and got a look at the person's face, my mouth dropped instantly.
" x-xavier" I stuttered and he smirked at me
" in the flesh" he said and smiled broadly and hugged me again, xavier's my childhood freind he was always there for me I'm pretty sure that without him and his family me and my sister would have been dead by now, he pulled away and realised how much he had grown and how handsome he had become, he was always handsome but now that he had grown he looked even better, his brown eyes looked as bright as ever, his features were sharp and his jawline was chiseled to perfection, I was about to say something when.
" miss tessa" I heard my boss's cold voice resonate in my ears, I turned to him and I realised that me and xavier weren't the only ones in the room, I looked up at him and quickly went to where he was, he gave me a quick glance and entered the conference room, I gave xavier a warm smile and followed my boss into the meeting.
It was boring beyond words, I just stood there, pretending to listen and giving the boss any files he needed for the contract, the meeting lasted for 2 hours but it felt like weeks to me, my boss left the room me towing behind, I was so tired and just wanted to go home and sleep.
" tess" I saw xavier walking up to me, I looked at my boss who was standing by my side, xavier came in front of me completely ignoring my boss's presence, I don't know why but the temperature in the room felt cold, I shivered a bit.
"hey" I said and smiled at him, my boss quickly left there and I tried to trail behind me but xavier grabbed my arm, I looked up to him and he smiled.
"I missed you a lot tess" heqxasaid and gave me another hug
"xavier I've got to go I'll call you later, I promise " I said and got out of his grip, I ran towards the exit but there was no car there anymore, I looked around but there was nothing, i checked the garage nothing still. He left me.
