"ugh"i sighed trying to stop my annoying alarm clock from making noise, so I could sleep but it wouldn't stop, I came out from under my blanket and looked at it, holy shit!!! it was 9:30 I'm so fucking late I came down from my bed immediately and stripped from my pajamas into a towel as I was about to get into the bathroom when

"hey sleepy head I hope you know you are late for work" my younger sister, mia yelled from downstairs.

"I wouldn't have been late if someone had woken me up earlier" I retorted.

"wow I can't believe that even at twenty-four you still have the attitude of an eight year old and that's coming from me" she yelled back, I decided to ignore her and went to go take a bath , i hurried up so I could at least have some spare minutes to eat and still be late Ugh why was my alarm clock so late, I came out of the bathroom in a matter of minutes and quickly got dressed into a navy blue suit and put on some light makeup, I took one good look at myself in the mirror and decided I was good to go, I grabbed my bag and phone and quickly went downstairs, I saw mia in the kitchen cooking up something, I realised I was hungry but couldn't wait for her to finish, I checked the time on my phone and realised I definitely couldn't wait for her to finish up, I walked towards the door and as I was about to leave

" hey where are you off to without this " she said and handed me my lunch bag.

" ahh thank you much mia you are a life saver I was so hungry" I said and wanted to leave then I realised something " why aren't you dressed for college" I asked

"well the school gave us a little break that's all" she said with a shrug of her shoulder

"ok then bye " I said and left I practically ran to the bus stop and thank goodness there was still a bus going, I quickly got in and paid the fare I really need to get myself a car, I sat down a seat and the bus zoomed off, I got my breakfast from the bag and started to munch down on the toast she made it was good

In the next 30 minutes we were at my office I quickly got down and ran into the huge building, I stopped running when I saw people looking at me weirdly I guess it was strange for them to see a woman coming laye to work I went to my cubicle and prayed to God that my boss didn't notice my absence, I sat down on my chair and at that moment someone yelled at me

" miss tessa, I hope you know how late you are " it was my boss , the manager of the company

" sir something came up i ...." I tried to explain well lie I couldn't tell my boss I was late because I overslept I'd look incompetent

" spare me the explanation I have something to discuss with you please join me in my office " he said and started to walk to his office I followed him into the office, he offered me a seat and I sat down

"miss tessa the CEO would be returning today from his trip and would be coming directly to the office " he said

" and the thing is well he needs a new secretary his old one just got fired and he needs a ne one ASAP " he continued talking and I started getting ideas which I hoped they weren't right

" so with this short notice I'd like you to be his secretary " he said and I looked at him wide eyed , oh no oh no I'm not gonna do it , I haven't met or seen said CEO but from the rumors he doesn't sound like well someone I'd like to be a secretary for , I heard he was ruthless and cold hearted of course I didn't want to work as his secretary

" sir with all due respect I'd like to decline " I said

" Decline ??" he said with a questioned expression "but miss tessa we really need you we couldn't get a secretary on short notice so we really need you ok to convince you I'm giving you a raise " he said sounding somewhat defeated

" sir a raise seriously " I asked he nodded an answer, I needed that a raise could seriously help me and mia after much contemplating I finally agreed, which made the manager's face light up a bit

"Thank you miss tessa you can move your things into his office today your cubicle will be on there" he said and I finally left his office knowing I scored myself a raise and a meeting with my new boss the ceo.
