At first, it was a good kingdom building story but the author suck at math and kept making wrong number. I was still compromising for this case, but the moment mc, who was depicted as a logical person who can think straight and charm proof suddenly helping a girl to buy luxury house in city(chap 55~) without asking anything, i am done with this novel
I found this Garbage With a shit lot of racism If you arent chinese as only china Has a good enough history and is old enough and is better than every other country with a rapist mc who at some point is fucking someone nearly every 10 chapters and way too nationalistic with a bullcrap amount of misinformation about other countries and the rape And kidnapping is just too much.
Well then... What should I say about this novel? ALERT!!! at the beginning: Do not be fooled by the high rating! There are issus to this novel, that are not part of the evaluation criteria! Let's start! First and foremost: I like the story quite a bit BUT there are some major issuses in the writing. The problem is not the translation, but the original source I assume. In other words, there are scenes that simply sucks! Not really in the construction, but in the description. When half of a chapter is about lights of different colors and powers of different origins (which are not better defined than by a simple naming sense) clashing and merly saing "it is powerfull" and so on, that is NOT a good scene description and certainly a waste of wordspace. And believe me, this sickening trend for word-count is a major issu in this novel and not so rare, at least in the later chapters. Heck I would have less to coplain if every second paragraph would consist of 100 "blub" for the word count, since I would know what to skip without missing a detail that might be relevant!!! To give a bit of a positive, the idea and bachground story is nice and I liked the development that is put on display quite a bit. That consists of kingdom-building, world-background and even character-development... but that only applies to the beginning some 100s chapters. Later on it gets a bit monotone and to say the least, frustrating when there a battles about colors and names of different powers or starts which are not even discriped in their differences. It might work in a visual, but not a novel. To the characters: It is interessting since the setting gives a lot of possibilitys for historical figures and important personal and at the beginning I like that. The connections between the characters get more and more interesting, but somewhere that is lost... Later on there is no further interaction between characters, that gets above a scene description with more than 2 paragraphs and even MC is often lonesomly on the road and not greatly interacting even with accompaning characters (those tha already read furhter know what I mean, but I do not want to spoilers here). To sum it up: Great story-idea and I would LOVE to read it further, BUT... Nearly verything that makes the read enjoiable ends after a few hundred chapters and it becomes tedious... it remindes of the DBZ fights in the anime where half an episode cosists of them roaring to power-up and nothign more. It feels like I have to WORK by reading in order to follow the story further and that is definitly NOT a good sign for a novel. Good ideas! Good start! Nice characters! Great world-building! Interessting setting! ... but loosing everything in unncessary word-count and repetetive descriptions in the later chapters.
Story starts with great promise but got rotten very quickly. World building is actually good, but plot got so bad you won't even notice it. MC has character development in the sense you won't understand when his character changed, and it definitely didn't change in a good way. Although intended for Chinese readers, nationalism is quite hard to swallow in this novel, and it's hard to see MC raping women of his defeated foes not matter if it's mother/sister/wife. And they don't even protest and fawn over him as well. Power system is redundant as we don't really understand why MC has special powers and MC's power increases by having sex with powerful women. It basically shows Chinese culture is the best and others don't qualify. It went from good to bad and then complete wish fulfilment. MC seems to only think with his dick and every woman praises his dick. They are nothing but shallow meatbags who don't have any purpose other than f*cking MC.
This story starts out strong and devolves into someone's DBZ mast*rbatory fantasies. Couple with pay per word chapter costs and it starts to feel very underwhelming when a 'chapter' is actually 1/3 of one of those aforementioned fantasies consisting of little more than 'BOOM', 'this sword light', 'that sword light', 'oh no x individual coughed some blood', and you can read about how all of it was very domineering. If you want one chapter of legitimate plot development, you can expect at least 5 chapters of useless words inserted to consume your money. Don't get me wrong. I like the STORY. There's just very little of it to be found here amidst so much dross.
You ever wondered what will happen if "The World Online" took some crack, then ****ed with the DBZ-Franchise, then the child would be taken away by nazi child protective services, raised by a psychopathic narcissist on a powertrip before living in the woods for a decade? This story has you covered in the same way Shadow Hack has covered the general cultivation-novels. You have a system, just enough of it to make it look like there is some kind of higher power observing/judging what is going on. Ding! You have kingdom building, just enough to show you a justification for the MC to lead armies in the millions against his enemies. You have a MC who gets all the powerups whose repercussions are kind of a reward in themselves. "heavenly celestial art, only way to cultivate is to **** lots of women...HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM" You have plotarmor so thick 15 planes couldnt melt those plotbeams. You have female characters as either soon-to-be-harem-members, harem-members or...wait, thats it. You have enemy factions so bland and repetetive, the only change seems to be the number of 0s they put behind how many cultivation(stage) X soldiers they send against the MC. You have an overarching story so drawn out and without any details to guess at you might even think this novel is going somewhere, before the author railroads it however he wants anyway, ignoring glaring potholes. You have faceslapping, young-master-killing, woman-stealing and the usual powerfantasies of a 15-year old raised on an educational diet on 4chans /b/ board. The translation-release-schedule is stable, 2 chapters a day. Except when issues pop up with Qidian, then its full-stop. Nope to that. The worst part? You cant stop reading. Its like potato-chips. No substance, nothing to nourish you, nothing to learn, no deeper insight. Yet you cannot stop yourself from grabbing another chapter just to see what kind of over-the-top **** the author is coming up with now. If you like to feel like 5 chapters couldve been written as 1 but like to turn off your brain when reading from time to time to just enjoy the pure OP-ness of the MC and no real stakes-style DBZ-battles for sometimes up to 10 chapters this is the story for you! Dont pay the stones tho, read the comments first. Usually they say whether a chapter is worth paying for. Word-count-padding is real in this one.
