Wang Yue stopped drinking her water and put the cup down on the table back. Her eyes were deep on Xiao Muchen as her thoughts turned messy inside her head. 

"What do you mean by that? Ai's life? Is she still in danger? Is it related to her father's work? Why is she in danger?"

Wang Yue held the napkin tightly as her thoughts took her to previous incidents where she saw unconscious Ai tied up with the ropes. But then Xiao Muchen's warm hand was placed on her hand that was holding on to the napkin. 

"Mr and Mrs Smith have a very interesting story. Would you like to know?"

Xiao Muchen's lips slightly curved in a soft smile. Wang Yue of course noticed the soft smile plastered on Xiao Muchen's lips that only lingered for seconds before completely disappearing. 

Wang Yue just nodded in acceptance and Xiao Muchen held her hand to take her out somewhere. 

"Have you finished with the food?"

He asked standing in his place and Wang Yue nodded her head again, he looked at Aunty Su to gesture to her something with just his head. Where Aunty Su smiled looking at the duo and turned back to go inside the kitchen. 

He held her hand tightly as they walked towards the backdoor of the house where it opened to the garden which Wang Yue saw from her room's gallery. She walked along with him each step looking at his face that was so serene for no reason she could find at that time. 

They stepped inside the gazebo soon and Wang Yue felt so cosy with the feeling of being with Xiao Muchen like that that her heart warmed in seconds. 

Her face lit up looking at the white lotus in the pond and Xiao Muchen turned to look at her. The glow of her face tugged his heart with unknown emotion but he ignored it effortlessly. He just walked near her again and held her hand.

"Let's sit here. I will tell you what is going on with them."

Xiao Muchen made her sit on one of the chairs that were placed inside the gazebo and sat beside her. 

"As you can see you must have understood that Mr and Mrs Smith are from different countries and belong to different cultures. The first time Mr Smith came to China for holidays, they met on that tour and fell in love. But they never realised it until they went back to their home."

Wang Yue who was trying to think what could be the reason behind all the mess, suddenly felt something tugging at her heart. The warmth of emotions feeling her up with happiness.

"Then what happened? How did they meet again?"

"Then Mr Smith decided to come back to China. He looked for all the information he could gather about her and one day went to her home unannounced. Her family too welcomed him as they introduced themselves as friends."

Xiao Muchen then got up from the chair and went to look at the pond keeping the silence which made Wang Yue worried a bit.

"What happened then? Why are you silent, Xiao Muchen?"

She asked and as if on cue he decided to turn back to look at her. She was about to get up from her chair but sat back when he turned to her. Xiao Muchen leaned against the railing of the gazebo and pulled his hand around his chest.

"There he got to know she was going to get married to her childhood friend in the next seven days because he proposed to her. It was heartbreaking news for him thinking that maybe she was also in love with her childhood friend but he decided to try his luck."

Xiao Muchen smiled sarcastically but it sounded weird to himself. Wang Yue was curious to know what happened next, pouting unconsciously seeing his face. But unknown to her she churned something inside Xiao Muchen's pit. 

He suddenly removed his hands from his chest and spun back to see the pond.

"What happened then?"

Wang Yue asked and got up from her chair. She walked near him and stood at arm's length from him.

"He got rejected. Mrs Smith knowing her family background told him to get out of her life. Almost making him feel guilty for thinking bad about what he did that time. But then he decided to stay until she gets married to her best friend."

Xiao Muchen stopped and smiled at Wang Yue.

"It must be very painful seeing the person you love loves someone else and you can't just stop loving them?"

Wang Yue has it worse, there was no way she could tell him how it was so painful for her when she learnt that Xiao Muchen was in love with someone else before they got married in her previous life. 

When the first time she got know about it from Xiao Hui it was like an earthquake, her whole world collapsed knowing that when they were getting married, he was still mourning the death of his girlfriend.  

Though with her new theory it was one possibility that Xiao Muchen never had a girlfriend and it was all Xiao Hui's plan to get them separated very easily. But the devastation she felt at that time was beyond any pain in this world.

Her relationship with Xiao Muchen was already at its last breaths and when she learnt it, she was completely broken along with her heart because all she understood at that time was that Xiao Muchen was not ready to forget about his dead girlfriend and move on with her. 

So, finally, she decided to let him go out of the relationship that was like a binding to him. She voiced out her decision 

She asked him for divorce telling him that she is afraid of him because she knew Xiao Muchen will never let her go just because he doesn't want her. He would have gotten ready only if she wanted out of their relationship, not the other way around.

A lone tear then escaped from her left eye but she quickly wiped it without letting Xiao Muchen see it and smiled which was sad looking at him. 

"Maybe it is worse than dying. But I can just say he was very brave that time and that he was ready to see her going to become someone else. Very few people dare to let go of their love so easily. He must have loved her from the bottom of his heart."

Xiao Muchen eyed Wang Yue and saw the saddened expression on her face. That made him frown and he went to stand beside her. 

"You know so much about breakups. Has someone broken your heart?"
