Ruthless King

In the very heart of the Deneb Kingdom, the castle of Deneb, the place where all the richest nobles and the king himself who rule Deneb resides.

The king himself asked for the presence of Letisha.

"Letisha, it has been days since the execution of Lucas the rebel, General talius should have been back here 2days ago but I hear no explanation." said the king with a deep calm voice but still gives fear and terror.

"Y-your highness we've already sent 5 spies to the fortress to see what's going on, P-please give me a few more days so I can investigate this matter" Replies letisha while Kneeling and trembling with fear in the presence of King Regal.

The king went silent for a few minutes, but the atmosphere went heavier and heavier for letisha even when the king is silent, she was doing her best not to puke from all the pressure that she could feel.

The king smirk with a grim look on his eyes and said, "I shall allow you to live for a few more days, I expect good outcomes from this, this is your only chance to redeem yourself worthy to serve and live for the kingdom, you may now leave"

"T-thank you for your kindness m-my king, I shall now take my leave" Replied letisha while feeling a bit of a relief to finally be able to leave.

Walking down the hall feeling all frustrated and angry she wanted to make sure that whoever caused this problem should pay.

In the fortress where the rebels are supposedly executed, 4 Spies from the kingdom are roaming around the fortress trying to see what is inside the fortress, they don't want to carelessly enter the fortress because they don't know if it's already captured by an unknown enemy force.

They split into 4 different location in, One in North, East, West and South end of the fortress respectively.

They noticed that the fortress is already reinforced and there are signs that the walls are repaired, so they knew that it must have been attacked.

The layout of the fotress is shaped like a Square, the Gate itself is in the East End Protected by a Gatehouse with a drawbridge which is quite unusual because it wasn't there before and there are no waters in the surrounding. In each four corners of the fortress are Round towers, each round towers are connected by a curtain walls.

They also find it strange because all the towers that was supposed to be in the middle part of the fortress are all gone now, instead it was replaced by a Keep, and what made them more suspicious of the surrounding is that, there are some under construction wall that is 300meters away from the wall, it's as if they are making a Killing field.

(A killing field was an area between the main wall and a secondary wall, so when the first wall was breached the attackers would run into the killing field to be confronted by another wall from which soldiers bombarded them. Soldiers would be positioned atop the second wall and armed with any variety of weapons, ranging from bows to crossbows to simple rocks.)

After a few moments of looking around, someone came out of the Gatehouse,

(A gatehouse is like a Round tower or a lookout tower, connected in parallel to the gate)

The Lookout guard is wearing the same armor as the Deneb soldiers.

Lucas knew that Deneb kingdom will soon try to send spies on their location, so it was a good countermeasure to have a camouflage.

One of the Spies made a signal to the Guard in the gatehouse, while sounding a little hesitant.

"H-hey lower down the drawbridge, we are here to send some reports."

The Guard turned around for a bit, it seems like he was talking to someone else, after a few seconds, the Guard shouted.

"We need you to show the Royal Decree first, and how many people do you have out there? we were attacked a few days ago, so we are having safety measures, if we are are to find out that the number that you gave me is not the same number of people in the vicinity, we are to execute them on sight."

The Spy Sounding a little nervous raised his hand showing up 3 fingers.

"There are 3 of us right now, I'll ask them to show up"

the code of the spies is to not let anyone know whoever it is the exact number of their personnel because dead man tell no tales.

After a few seconds the Spies lined up together, the one in the middle raised up his hand and showed his royal decree.

"Here's the Royal Decree by the King himself"

The Guard raised his voice and said

"Come Closer we Can't confirm it.

After walking a few more meters closer, they were already in the Kill range.

Suddenly a shade of shadow can be noticed from their feet, it was a rain of arrows, Just enough to cover up the sunlight and produce a shade, even tho the spies tried their best to avoid, it was a futile resistance.

"Arrrgghhhhhhh"

and just like that they breath their last.
