An Unexpected Meeting

"You know the rules of the Mortal Kombat tournament. You can't start anything here." Kung Lao tells them.

Jade prepares her staff, but Katana stops her. She then looks at Liu Kang for a moment.

"I only came to talk to your champion. You have my word, we are not here to cause any trouble." Katana says.

Liu Kang smiles, causing Katana to look away and blush. He then puts his hand on Kung Lao's shoulder.

"Could you give us a moment?" Liu Kang asks.

Kung Lao looks at Katana and Jade for a minute, then walks away.

"Jade. Leave us." Katana demands.

"As you wish, Katana."

As the two are left alone, Katana stands near the balcony. She watches the monks and his friends below and thinks to herself.

"You were... very impressive against Shang Tsung."

Liu Kang grins and bows.

"Thank you."

Liu Kang then stands next to her.

"Honestly, I was hoping we'd meet again."

Katana blushes and looks away.

"Why is that?"

Liu Kang leans in close and puts his hand on top of her's.

"I wanted to get another chance to do this."

The two then stare into each other's eyes. Katana feels the same warm feeling that she felt when she met him. She then gets flustered and walks away from the balcony.

"I tried to kill you. I am fighting directly against Earthrealm. I am the daughter of the Emperor, Shao Kahn. Why do you still look at me like that?"

"Like what?"

"Like... I matter to you? Like you actually care?"

Liu Kang looks at her with a kind smile and stands infront of her. He then puts his hand on the side of her face.

"Because I believe that you are worth it." Liu Kang says.

He reaches to take off her mask, but Katana stops him by grabbing his hand. The two stare at each other for a moment, as Katana let's go, allowing Liu Kang to take off her mask. When he sees her face, he is stunned by how she looks.

"You're... beautiful." Liu Kang tells her.

Katana smiles at him and holds his hand. Liu Kang then leans in for a kiss, but Katana pulls away.

"I'm sorry. I must go."

Katana starts to quickly run away, putting her mask back on.

"Katana!" Liu Kang yells, reaching out to her.

She stops running for a moment, then turns back to Liu Kang.

"I'm...glad that we met again. Under different circumstances."

Her and Jade then go through the portal to outworld. Liu Kang let's out a sigh and smiles, happy about what she said, but a bit sad that she's gone. He then looks up at the sky and stares at the moon.
