The voice

Frantic pacing in her room she thought about how this can be clues to her mother's disappearance, " who was that man" she thought, " could he have known my mother" she continued finally lying on the bed staring at the ceiling while multiple scary, mysterious and questionable thoughts run through her head.

She woke up early the next morning as usual but this time she felt different, she didn't have any dreams last night, she looked puzzled but instantly brushed it off. On her way to work was for some reason a longer trip than usual, when she got to work everything seems to be going perfectly well, " well this is uncomfortable" she thought. The day ran by, but Nate was still thinking a lot about her mother. Nate and her brother were to meet up that very afternoon, when she saw him she immediately ran up to him for a hug, she hugged him so tight he can barely breathe, " too tight" he choked out, " I miss you too" he said as she finally let go of his body, " you grew up so well, are you okay?" she said looking at him holding back her tears, " I tried to eat well as you told me sis" he said smiling, he seems so happy which made her feel at ease. They spend the whole afternoon together catching up and drinking coffee and ice tea at her favorite coffee spot, she didn't want to bring up anything about her mom cause Max is usually sensitive about that topic, so she kept everything to herself.

After sending Max off she went home feeling an emotion she haven't felt in years, Nate was feeling happy, she misses her brother dearly and she finally met up with him and found out he has been well. Walking up to her room to felt this sharp pain in her legs, which went away immediately so there was no need to worry, she sat on the bed and took the necklace out of her bag, took the necklace from her neck to see the resemblance and she was right it is the other half, she matched it out of curiosity and the necklace, which was shaped like full moon with a beautiful blue pearl in the center, lit up the room so bright it caused Nate to shut her eyes.

She opened them after hearing her mother's voice, coming from the bright light she couldnt see anything just her voice saying " Nate if you find this recording I'm already gone, taken, there is a lot I wanted to say to you but I don't have much time" she said breathing very heavily, " the stories I told you were all true, well at least most of it, I really hope you and your brother can both forgive for the things you're about to go through" she continued. Nate sat there with tears in her eyes in shock when a voice she heard before said "it's time", in the background" am sorry, I love you" her mother's voice said cryingly before then it ended and the light dimmed down, "mom mom" she called out but she was already gone, she cried herself to sleep that night.

Nate woke the next morning with the necklace still in her hands, she couldn't cry anymore it was like her tears have dried up, she put on the necklace still attached, and she felt hopeful that her mother could still be out there alive. But who was that voice?
