The necklace

Hoping that her thought was wrong Nate began boxing her brain for all the possibilities, her mother was so kind and sweet and loving that she would never do something like that. The News Reporter cut her train of thought as he announced that it was a thirty-five-year-old male who died from drowning, a sigh of relief came over Nate as she sat there. She didn't think anything of it as she just confirmed it wasn't her mother she was relieved but also worried, about where her mother could be.

Later that day after work upstairs in her room doing her nightly routine, Nate had a flashback of the News earlier that day but brushed it off as she said" that isn't my mother". Again tossing and turning the night was cold and the moon was bright, Nate finds herself by a lake, looking around and finding nothing but just trees she called out " hello", still looking around when her eyes picked up on something in the grass near the water she saw a necklace, "Mother" she called out as she jumped out up from her sleep.

Nate held her pillow as she sat on the bed sweating. It was already morning and it was a Saturday so she washed herself up and proceeded to her chores. Being that it was a normal Saturday she usually stays in but today Nate was eager to know what that dream meant, so she spent the rest of the morning researching to find a location. Nate was searching high and low for information but she was having trouble until "neterpolis" she says as she remembered. All the information on the dead man pop up and Nate got the idea to go check it out, she got ready and made sure she told one of her housemates where she was heading to, clearly she had to make up a reason cause who would believe something based on dreams?

It was an hour's drive to the lake, and immediately Nate realize it was the same as the one in her dream, a chilling feeling came over her as she walked through the woods no one was in sight. Finally reaching the lake she started looking and in a split second she found the necklace in the exact spot where she saw it in her dream, she started to panic as the thought of her mother being dead crossed her mind, she was terrified, as she picked it up she started to cry as that was the other half to the necklace her mother gave her as a baby. Nate sat by the lake for a few minutes crying when she heard something in between the trees she immediately stuffs the necklace in her pocket," Hello" she called out but no one answered, wiping her tears she decided she should leave. Walking through the woods she heard another stick break that making her walk faster when suddenly a man walked in front of her, " you shouldn't be here" he proclaimed scaring Nate in the process. He wasn't wearing any shirt which made her uncomfortable, " umm nothing" she said walking away, she stopped in her tracks as she saw the tattoo on his back, the same as her mother's, but she kept on walking as the man glared at her, trembling she ran into her car. Panting and sweating she screamed "FUCK".
