The Tattoo

"Hello good morning everyone" Nate greeted as she entered the office, it was her first day at work. Everyone greeted her with kindness that was overwhelming but different because Nate has always encountered bad luck in her life as she calls it, but she was pleased with that moment.

The rest of her first day passed by as quickly as possible, it was already 4 pm. Nate was on her home, she can't remember the last time she smiled or felt a sense of happiness in her life but she never complained, "I Am Home" Nate says as walk through the door and head upstairs to her room, "am tired and not hungry" she says quickly dismissing her housemate in the kitchen.

It's been ten years since her mother disappeared, it's been difficult for Nate, with so much trauma she choose to shut herself out from everyone. Nate quickly ran the computer to open her emails, it was a message from her little brother Max, who was adopted after their mother disappeared. Nate and Max never knew their father so they were forced into the foster care system and that's where they got separated. Nate never stopped looking for her brother, in fact, just recently they got in contact with each other via email, he is now fifteen years and going to school but misses his sister very much.

Its already 11 pm and Nate's tossing and turning," No mama "a little girl's voice exclaims as a skinny blond woman walks in the water, "Noooooo" Nate jumped up from her sleep drenched in sweat, she held on to her pillow and started crying, she has never had a good night sleep in years one dream after the other. She doesn't know what her dreams mean just only that the blond woman resembles her mother and that makes her very sad. Nate had trouble sleeping for the rest of the night but woke up early the next morning.

Nate woke to feel her usual dispirited way and went along with her morning chores. She lives in a shared apartment with two people, it's not where she wants to be but she doesn't have a choice. Nate usually eats breakfast at a nearby café, "body found near the Neterpolis river" the news reporter announced which quickly got Nate's attention, looking up from her paper and sipping her coffee she saw a picture of a tattoo that looks just like the one her mother had, she suddenly felt this knot in her stomach, " could my mother have gone off to do drugs and just right now Oded"
