The Kitchen and Room of Requirements Part 1

Getting up and looking around, he found himself in the boys' dormitory of Hufflepuff.

The Hufflepuff dormitories were designed as individual rooms, with each person having their own cubicle. Although the cubicles appeared small from the outside, the space inside was surprisingly spacious.

His trunk had already been brought in and was placed on the windowsill, containing two glass cages with South African red spiders.

Jon walked over, took out a few dead mealworms from a small box beside the cage, and threw them into the glass cages. He didn't really care about the "pet" spiders' well-being, as long as they could survive until Halloween!

After a quick wash and putting on the black Hogwarts robe, he went to the Hufflepuff common room.

No one was here at the moment, as it was around 6:15 in the morning. Warm sunlight streamed through the windows, illuminating the plant specimens placed in the common room, which were arranged by Professor Sprout, the head of Hufflepuff.

Jon didn't plan to stay in the common room for long. He passed through the circular underground tunnel and emerged from the barrel, returning to the ground floor corridor of Hogwarts.

Hogwarts rules prohibited wandering around the school at night. Jon didn't have any powerful tools like an invisibility cloak or a Marauder's Map that would allow him to explore the school at night with ease.

However, that didn't stop him from taking a stroll in the quiet campus early in the morning, which was neither against the school rules nor too dark.

For his first stop, Jon chose the kitchen next to the Hufflepuff common room.

He wanted to have breakfast first, but at this hour, the dining hall would certainly not be serving meals.

"Gabriel mentioned yesterday that the kitchen is on this corridor..."

Muttering to himself, Jon observed his surroundings.

Soon, he found it—a portrait depicting a silver bowl filled with fruits.

Jon extended a finger and lightly scratched the green pear in the painting. The pear wriggled and giggled, suddenly transforming into a large green doorknob.

Passing through this door, what came into view was a room almost the same size as the dining hall. The stone walls were piled with many shining copper pots and pans, and at the other end of the room was a large brick fireplace.

"Sir... Hello, sir..." a small creature rushed towards him: "May I ask what your orders are?"

It was an unpleasant-looking "house-elf," a domesticated house-elf. It had two bat-like ears and a pair of tennis ball-sized, protruding green eyes. Even though Jon was somewhat prepared, he was still startled.

"Hello!" Jon adjusted his emotions slightly and extended a hand to the house-elf. "I'm Jon Hart, a student from Hufflepuff. Can I get breakfast here?"

"Hufflepuff!" the house-elf suddenly exclaimed, "Welcome... very welcome... my honor..."

While screaming, it anxiously held Jon's two fingers with its trembling hands.

Immediately, six house-elves hurriedly ran up from behind, each carrying a large silver tray with a large cup of milk, a glass, and a plate of cookies.

"Thank you, thank you so much... Actually, I don't need this much!" Jon said seriously.

"By the way, I don't know your name."

"I'm Klein, sir..." the house-elf said while wiping tears,

"It is our honor to serve the students of Hufflepuff!"

More and more house-elves gathered around, stuffing bread, cream cakes, and pies into Jon's hands.

"Enough, enough, I can't eat all of this!" Jon said while redirecting his gaze to Klein.

"Wait, why do you emphasize Hufflepuff?"

"A thousand years ago, the lives of our house-elves were very miserable... Lady Helga Hufflepuff brought our ancestors to work in the Hogwarts kitchen, ensuring that we had worked and were not mistreated. She made us live better than all other house-elves in every other place..." Klein choked out, tears welling up.

"Protecting Hufflepuff is the mission of every Hogwarts house-elf..."

...

...

Ten minutes later, under the gaze of over a hundred house-elves, Jon stuffed his robe pockets full of food and left the kitchen.

It seemed like choosing Hufflepuff was not a wrong decision. At least he would be able to eat and drink his fill at school from now on!

And he seemed to understand why there were no anti-intruder spells set in the Hufflepuff common room, and why the common room and dormitories had not been invaded by strangers for almost a thousand years... because the house-elves were constantly monitoring the entrance of the Hufflepuff common room, and any unauthorized intruders would be driven away by them!

He didn't return to the Hufflepuff common room, nor did he rush to go to class. It was only half-past six in the morning... he walked towards the upper floors of the castle.

The staircases in Hogwarts were complicated, but fortunately, he could ask the portraits for directions, and most of the portraits were happy to guide him... navigating the stairs, Jon climbed all the way up to the eighth floor of the castle.

After spending more than ten minutes, he found the wall opposite the tapestry on the eighth floor of Hogwarts Castle, where the club-wielding troll was depicted.

Walking back and forth along this wall three times, a gleaming door appeared on the wall!

The door to the Room of Requirement appeared before Jon... He reached out, turned the brass handle, and pushed the door open.

Inside the room, there was a dining table with a complete set of cutlery arranged on it.

"Wow, it's really magical!" Jon took out all the cookies, cakes, and bread stuffed in his robes and placed them on the serving plate. Then he picked up the cutlery and began to enjoy his breakfast.

"Perhaps I should test how much the Room of Requirement can provide," Jon pondered to himself.

Starting from the widest range and gradually narrowing it down...

Jon stood up.

"I need a strategic missile launch silo and an intercontinental ballistic missile carrying a nuclear warhead!" he silently muttered in his mind.

"It doesn't need to be too powerful, something like Dongfeng-5, DF-21, or Minuteman III would suffice!"
