The Last Transmigrator

Love transmigration? What about fantasy? Characters who range from humans, dwarves, elfs, to gods? A world where everything that’s alive has at least a small speck of magic? “The Last Transmigrator” is a story about a college student who loves to run and read. After his death, he transmigrates to a novel called “The Elven Hero”. He gains a power called ‘anti-magic’, which did not exist in the novel. His main goal is to not get swept away by the story and get killed; however, that proves to be different since he wakes up close to Aekodora – the kingdom which is ruled by “The Elven Hero”s main character – Kyros. ———————— Disclaimer!!! I am a new author and this is my first work ever, so there will be mistakes here and there. I’m writing this story to learn and explore what I like, so feedback is always welcome! :)

"Anti-magic?!?!"

Neoma couldn't help but exclaim loudly as he saw the word 'Anti-magic'. As far as he could remember, there was no such thing as anti-magic in "The Elven Hero". Even though darkness did go against many other elements and subelements due to its nature, it was still magic. Darkness was part of nature and part of life.

However, anti-magic was completely different from any other element or subelement. Each element and subelement could fight against the other or work with one another. Anti-magic was something that didn't even fight magic. It has the ability to completely destroy it by nullifying it.

'How could this be… This wasn't in the novel, I'm sure of it.'

After a few seconds of pondering, Neoma mumbled under his breath, asking Alvis about the reason why he had received such powers.

"Alvis… Did I get anti-magic because I'm not from this world?"

Precisely! Since your body doesn't abide by the laws of nature of Airi, you weren't compatible with any element or subelement!

Neoma, even though he was surprised by the appearance of an unheard power from before, he had also noticed how the system, Alvis, was very expressive.

'He seems… Excited.'

After another sigh escaped past Neoma's lips, he stood up and dusted off his clothes. He finally noticed what he was wearing. His clothes were very simple and looked like something a commoner of the medieval times would wear. He wore dark brown pants with a loose white shirt and a robe draped over him. His shoes were made of the cheapest leather and had yarn for laces. Even though his clothes were simple and cheap, they were clean. They had no dirt on them and no tearing.

After analyzing the clothes he was wearing, Neoma began to seriously observe his surroundings. He noticed the blue trees and their glowing fruit which pulled down on the branches because of their weight.

'This must be one of the restricted areas of the elven kingdom. How was it called… Ah, right! The Forest of The Crescent Moon.'

Neoma at first seemed quite excited about his discovery; however, it didn't take long for his smile to drop. He furrowed his eyebrows as he cautiously looked around.

'There's no need to be so excited about this… This forest is a restricted area for a good reason. I need to find the exit before the sun goes down.'

With those thoughts, Neoma began to make his way through the forest, heading towards the direction where the sun was setting. The forest was in the shape of a crescent moon, hence its name – The Forest of The Crescent Moon. This place was a restricted area because of the dangers which arise at night time.

…..

Meanwhile, somewhere in the royal palace of Aekodora…

"I promise! I will be back before the sun sets."

A vibrant woman's voice filled the entire throne room as she stared at the man sitting on the throne. The throne was embellished with gold and maroon coloured gems. The man who sat on a throne rubbed his temples as he looked at the elf in front of him.

"You will go even if I tell you no… Fine. But you must come back before the moon rises. Otherwise, I will send a search party to look for you."

The man mumbled the first sentence to himself.

"Deal!"

The blue haired woman answered with a bright smile on her lips.

…..

"Al, how do I level up my stats?"

Neoma whispered as he walked through the forest, not wanting to attract anyone's attention. His goal was to get out of this forest as fast as possible and hopefully exit the territory of the elven kingdom – Aekodora. He did not wish to meet Kyros.

As soon as he whispered the question, the blue screen appeared right before his eyes again; however, this time he didn't jump out of fright.

You can level up your stats by completing missions!

Those missions will be assigned by Alvis.

The rewards of the missions can range from obtaining points, which can be used in "Alvis' Antique and Boutique Shop" to buy various sorts of goodies and leveling up your stats, to obtaining relics and items during the missions themselves!

Of course, there is also another way to increase your stats! And that is… to work out, train, and practice!

'This is starting to look more like a video game…'

Yet another sigh escaped past Neoma's lips after he finished reading the text written on the blue screen. He didn't even stop walking when he read, afraid to lose out on precious daylight.

As Neoma walked through the dense forest, he began to think about his situation and his future plans.

'My speed and stamina stats are higher than anything else. This must be because of my past life… Is there a max to what level you can reach? How high is level 4 and level 3? I should start working on my stats if I want to survive in this world. Even if I manage to avoid meeting Kyros, that doesn't mean I will be able to avoid danger overall.'

'I should try to find Disea. All kinds of species are welcome there and the city of humans – Perton, is too far away from the elven kingdom. I need food, water, shelter…'

Similar thoughts filled Neoma's mind; however, his thought process soon came to a halt as he heard a voice behind him.

"Stop right there! Turn around with your hands up!"

A woman shouted as she stood behind Neoma, holding her bow in her hands with the string stretched out and the arrow pointing right towards the youth's heart.

Neoma immediately stopped once he heard the shouts. He slowly turned around while holding his arms up and both of their eyes met. The woman had a visible frown on her face as she looked the youth up and down.

'Impossible… He has no magic whatsoever in him. Is he just a walking corpse? No… Even the corpses controlled by necromancers have dark magic in their bodies. And how did he cross the borders without triggering the activation of magic barriers? Did someone let him in? But why is he wandering around in one of the restricted areas…'

The woman's mind was racing as she observed Neoma, not letting go of the string just in case the human in front of her will decide to attack.

'Blue hair, green eyes, the bow…She must be Elin. The princess of Aekodora.'

Neoma came to the conclusion after quickly looking the woman up and down. He was sure she was Elin because of her striking physical features, the weapon she was pointing at him, and because she was the only elf who was brave enough to explore the Forest of the Crescent Moon.

"State your name and the purpose of your visit."

Elin spoke with an authoritative tone. Her voice was loud and clear, slightly deeper than that of an average female elf's voice. She showed no fear in her eyes or in her voice, however, she was deeply worried. She had never heard of, read, or seen such a situation. It was impossible for any living being to have no magic in them. Even flowers had magic running through their stems.

"I'm Neoma. And I apologize, but… I can't remember anything else. No, I cannot remember anything at all despite my name."

The youth answered Elin's words as his arms began to tremble. His pupils were shaking and his voice was low.

Neoma decided to lie and pretend to be scared. He couldn't just tell Elin that he died, transmigrated into this world which was actually just a novel on Earth, and woke up in the middle of the Forest of the Crescent Moon to find himself having anti-magic powers.

Elin frowned slightly when she heard Neoma's words. She slowly pointed her bow down and took the arrow off, putting it back in her quiver. She concluded that the human in front of her wasn't dangerous.

'He has no magic at all… He can't attack me if he doesn't have it. But it still is strange… Just what happened to this poor boy?'

The princess of Aekodora began to feel pity for Neoma. Her mind immediately began going wild. She had many different hypotheses of what could've happened to the human and how he ended up with having no magic in his body and no memories. Most of her thoughts ended with her assuming that Neoma must've been tortured and experimented on to end up like this.

"My name is Elin. I am the princess of Aekodora, the kingdom of elves, as well as the one and only commander. I will lead you back to my kingdom, since it will soon get dangerous here. Don't worry. I am not planning on harming you."

The blue haired elf smiled at Neoma. Elin was one of the few elves which showed no prejudice towards humans, unlike the others of her kind.
