The Last Transmigrator

Love transmigration? What about fantasy? Characters who range from humans, dwarves, elfs, to gods? A world where everything that’s alive has at least a small speck of magic? “The Last Transmigrator” is a story about a college student who loves to run and read. After his death, he transmigrates to a novel called “The Elven Hero”. He gains a power called ‘anti-magic’, which did not exist in the novel. His main goal is to not get swept away by the story and get killed; however, that proves to be different since he wakes up close to Aekodora – the kingdom which is ruled by “The Elven Hero”s main character – Kyros. ———————— Disclaimer!!! I am a new author and this is my first work ever, so there will be mistakes here and there. I’m writing this story to learn and explore what I like, so feedback is always welcome! :)

"Hmm… Interesting, it seems like a few of my stats increased because of training. And I even managed to receive a new one… Weapon mastery. It's level 2 already."

Neoma read the table which was presented right in front of him on a blue screen. He hummed softly as he analysed his new stat levels. His eyes widened once he noticed that the level of intelligence had gone up as well by one.

'Huh… So reading books about magic here does raise your intelligence. Well, I did gain a deeper understanding on how the elements and subelements work. I didn't really pay much attention to it when I was reading "The Elven Hero".'

The white haired youth thought as he turned off the status window and laid back down in his bed. He had a small break to rest in between his training.

Before Neoma could close his eyes, the blue screen suddenly appeared right in front of him again. This time, it had quite a surprise.

╭────── • ◆ • ──────╮

Alvis has a mission for you!

Do you wish to accept it?

╰────── • ◆ • ──────╯

Neoma frowned slightly as he thought about what kind of mission his system had for him. After a moment of silence, he parted his lips to answer.

"Can you tell me what the mission is going to be about?"

The white haired youth asked as he looked at the blue screen before his eyes. He didn't want to take any unnecessary risks. He knew that he already intervened in the story and that there will be changes to the flow of it due to his actions. However, he didn't wish to get involved any further. He didn't want to completely change the story.

╭────── • ◆ • ──────╮

I apologise, Alvis does not have permission to reveal the details of missions until you accept them!

╰────── • ◆ • ──────╯

'What? He doesn't have permission? Is there someone else who's in control of him and knows about my situation?'

Neoma's eyes widened as he read the text on the screen. He was not mentally prepared to learn of this information. After a few seconds of being frozen from shock, he calmed down his fastly beating heart and shook his head.

'I'm an idiot. Of course there is someone higher up who knows of my situation. Alvis couldn't just appear out of nowhere. Someone must've created him and given him to me. But how do they know about the future and how the story will progress? As much as I can remember… There is no one in "The Elven Hero" who can see the future.'

"What will happen if I don't accept this mission?"

╭────── • ◆ • ──────╮

Alvis can't exactly predict what will happen, but Alvis can tell that at least one catastrophe will happen in Aekodora!

╰────── • ◆ • ──────╯

Neoma began to feel overwhelmed once again. A small sigh escaped past his lips as he reached his hands up and gently rubbed his temples. He felt another headache coming his way.

"Won't His Majesty be able to deal with it?"

The youth asked as he slowly sat up and leaned against the cold headboard.

╭────── • ◆ • ──────╮

Kyros currently does not have the strength to directly deal with the catastrophe and doesn't have a way to prevent it!

╰────── • ◆ • ──────╯

Neoma closed his eyes as he began to think of all the possible outcomes.

'If a catastrophe does happen and if what Alvis is saying is true, I definitely won't be able to be of much help. It definitely would be best if it was prevented. But… Isn't this supposed to be a period of peace in "The Elven Hero"? After that attack, there should've been a few months where nothing major happened and all that Kyros was doing was just training and getting stronger…'

"Fine. I accept the mission."

"WHAT?!"

Neoma exclaimed loudly as he shot up, now sitting with his back straight.

"The wind dragon? Even if I manage to find her, she'll just kill me for disturbing her."

The youth frowned as he told his system buddy, thinking that this mission is way too difficult and dangerous for him to complete.

After a moment or so of slight panic, he managed to calm himself down.

'At this point, I'm gonna age faster. I can already feel a new wrinkle forming on my forehead.'

"Did something happen to the wind dragon?"

Neoma asked Alvis. He could recall that even if the wind dragon, Anemone, wasn't in the main cast of characters, she definitely played a major role quite a few times. She was on Kyros' side and helped him fight against the Church of Inferno.

However, that only happened later in the story. Before Anemone joined Kyros and decided to help him, the elf had found her injured by the borders of the kingdom of Aekodora. Since the dragon was in her human-like form, Kyros failed to recognise that she's a dragon; however, he could tell that she was stronger than most elves, even himself.

Anemone was attacked by the Church of Inferno after one of the 'saints' received a 'revelation' from the God of Fire that the wind dragon must be hunted and killed. Of course, it wasn't that easy to kill a dragon, but Anemone barely survived. Their common enemy, The Church of Inferno, was the reason why the two began to work together.

In "The Elven Hero", dragons weren't just simple creatures. Some may even say that they were closer to gods rather than living beings. They weren't born like other creatures. Dragons didn't have children. Instead, they were created from nature itself. Each element and subelement had its own dragon. The kingdom of Aekodora was home to the wind dragon and the dragon of plants.

╭────── • ◆ • ──────╮

You will have to go and find this out on your own!

I will provide you with a location where the dragon of wind currently is!

You better make haste and not waste any time!

Good luck!

Another sigh escaped past Neoma's lips once the blue screen disappeared.

'It looks like I'll have to make another trip outside during the night. Hopefully it isn't far.'

Neoma was breathing heavily as he climbed up one of the bigger mountains near the capital of Aekodora. He stopped for a second to catch his breath, bending down as he placed his hands on his knees.

"Didn't my stamina go up by one level? And didn't I learn how to better control anti-magic? Why am I still struggling so much?"

The white haired youth whined as he continued on making his way up the mountain. Thankfully, there was a little path which he was able to follow with Alvis' help.

╭────── • ◆ • ──────╮

You have indeed learned how to better control anti-magic and your stamina stat did go up by one level!

However, that still isn't enough!

The amount of anti-magic you possess is quite large and your body keeps on generating more!

You are very lucky and very unlucky at the same time!

Keep up the hard work!

Neoma's lower left eyelid twitched as he read the white text on the blue screen.

'He is quite annoying sometimes with the way he words his sentences. But… I suppose he is quite useful and helpful.'

The youth thought as he continued to climb the tall mountain. The only reason why he was able to see right now in pitch black darkness was because of Alvis and his very useful feature – night vision.

'I guess it would be harder if I didn't have him… Why didn't he tell me about this when I was in the tunnels with Elin?!'

Neoma grumbled inwardly for a second before slowly nodding. A gentle smile formed on his lips.

"Don't worry. I will continue to train. I hate this feeling of being so weak."

The youth opened up the map once again and selected the red dot. He could see his own location which was represented by the white dot. The red one was the mission location, his target, the wind dragon.

After a few more hours of traversing the forest and mountain, Neoma arrived by a cave entrance. His hair was a mess, his clothes were dirty and had torn in a few places, he had a couple of cuts and bruises on his body. It just wasn't clear whether they came from his training lessons with Juno or if they appeared when he had wandered off the pathway and into a few bushes.

However, Neoma didn't do anything as he just stood there by the entrance. It seemed like he was frozen in place. He could sense many different things now, especially after he levelled up and received training from Juno.

At this moment, the human could sense an enormous amount of wind magic flowing out of the cave. He felt even more pressure compared to when he had met Kyros. And…

'The smell of blood…'
