Chapter 21

Rose

Sunlight Town

5:39 PM - 9:35 PM

Location: The Comic Book Store

June, 29th, 2025

I look through the window to find any hostiles, "None." I'd say. Then walking out of the comic book store, I leaned onto the Jeep, then seeing a shadowy figure appear in front of me, "Who's there?!" I yell, but the shadowy figure is gone, "It could've been a feral, I'm sure Trevor can handle that if he/she is going in his direction." I said. I then climbed into the Jeep, as I spotted Audrey, aka one of my friends from school running on the street, dodging a bunch of zombies and monsters. "Audrey!" I yell, looking to the side and forcing my arms into the door, trying to get out of the car, but the doors suddenly are shielded shut with boards and nails, as a monster crashes through a house and STEPS on Audrey. I scream in fear and kick the doors over and over again, struggling to get out of the Jeep. I finally force the door open, to see everything back to normal. There was no sign of Audrey anywhere, and the giant monster that Rose was sure just killed Audrey had vanished. I wake up from my day dream, "AUDREY!" I yelled as I woke up, "Thank god, just a dream." I said, rubbing my eyes, I finish the last of my popcorn, then that's when I spot the shadowy figure again, but closer. I grab my shovel and hop out of the Jeep, "Who are you?" I said, pointing my shovel at the figure, "I'm a person that came here looking for you." The figure said, "You're a feral then." I'd say. "I sure am." The Feral said, "People like you must die! After you brainwashed me to try and kill my only friends in this wasteland!" I yell. I charge at him and try whacking him with my shovel. He dodges it and he punches my jaw, "Ah!" I said, then swinging my shovel around, and hitting him in the cheek. The man groaned in pain, "You're gonna regret that!" He yelled, swinging at me, I swayed back, dodging a punch, then he hit

me in the stomach. I then hit him with the wood part of my shovel. Blood comes out of his mouth, I cough, and hold my stomach, I then kick him in the place where the sun doesn't shine. "OHHHH!" The Feral yelled, I kicked his shin, and whacked him with the shovel again. He falls to the ground, I kick him, until he grabs my leg, and takedowns me on the ground. Then trying to stand up, he kicks my stomach. "Ow!" I say, holding my stomach, and squeezing my eyes shut. I get up, and punch him in the face, I run to my shovel, and pick hit up. "Help!" The Feral yells. "You've got no help!" I yelled, I kicked him as he's on the ground. He presses on my pressure point, I back away, holding my leg. The feral gets up, and pulls out a knife, trying to throw it at me. I spotted the knife before he threw it, and as soon as I saw his wrist about to flick that knife into my head, I rolled to my right, dodging it. I then ran over to him, and kicked his jaw. He held his jaw, slugged me in the face. I grunted, and before I knew it, he was running away. "You won't get away!" I'd yell, I ran as fast as I could. I felt like the flash, but female version. I got on his tail, and then… SMASH! I grabbed his head and tripped him, making him hit his head. I pull up his head again, and slam it to the ground. I pull his head up once more, but the Feral turns around and grabs me by the neck, throwing me onto the ground. I stand up and turn around, as the Feral attempts to stab through my heart. I dodge the attack and swing my shovel, but he grabs it, and tosses the shovel behind him, as it lands on the pavement. Then Feral uses his secondary knife and slices me across the chest, as blood drips from the cut. The Feral tries to cut my head off, but I duck and grab his shirt, sweeping him off the ground as the guy smashes into the ground. I collapse from pain and look at the Feral. The Feral gets up, and he still has his knife at hand, I thought to myself: "No! You can't burst in tears on the ground now! Your life is at risk Rose! Get up!" I get up.

The Feral tries to stab my neck, I lean to the left, dodging the stab, I grab his arm with my right hand, and pull him in, kneeing his stomach. Then I punch his face, and combo him with a kick to the chest. I then kicked him down, and grabbed his neck, choking him. He gets out of my grip, then his head butts me, but my mind motivation told me to never burst into tears again. So I just stay there, with a red spot on my forehead. "But, how?" The Feral says. "It's called, mind motivation." I say. Then punching his face, he kicks me off of him, and I fall back, he gets up, and runs away. Into Trevors direction "You're so gonna die because of the direction you're going in!" I yell. "You don't know if I'll be eaten by a zombie!" He yells, disappearing around a corner. I stand there, waiting for the scream, then, he screams. "AHHHHHHHH!" The Feral yells. "Welp, Trevor definitely killed that guy." I said. Then picking up my shovel, walking back to the jeep. I hop inside, a zombie stumbles to me, I wipe the blood off of my lip. I then see that the zombie had short hair, with purple highlights, wait, that seems familiar. Oh no, that's Audrey's hair! I saw that it was actually just a spill of purple light from a window in the antique shop. "Phew." I say. I then slice the zombies head clean off with my shovel, I walk back to the jeep, climbing into it. I sigh, catching my breath. I drive the Jeep back to my post, after a few minutes, I'm on the street of the comic book store. I arrive at the comic book store, then getting out and taking the keys with me. I leaned on the jeep as I closed the door, I climbed up to the roof, and sat there, relaxing. I look over to the destroyed mall and suddenly see Anthony and- AUDREY!? The duo run from an avalanche of zombies behind them. I widen my eyes and slip off the roof of the comic book store. "Rose!" Anthony and Audrey yell, bashing through the doors of the Comic Book Store. I turn around and shut the doors of the store shut and lock the doors. "What were you two doing at the mall!" I say. "No time" Anthony says, "we've got an entire horde coming to the fort, and I've only made a number of 2 gadgets!" Anthony says. "Ok, let's do this," Rose says. "Buckle up guys." Anthony said.
