Explanation

I woke up after a good eight hours of sleep, and got all my morning necessity's finished. After I was ready for the day, I headed for the bridge to see our progress towards the Falx Empire. A couple of minutes passed before I walked through the sliding door connecting to the bridge where I saw all of my droids steadily working at the monitors, and APD-01 was standing next to the captain's seat overseeing all the work.

"APD, what's our flight route and status?" I asked as I walked over to my captain's seat and sat down in it.

"Master Zen, we are currently taking the western route along the Corellas Nebula, where we should end up on the western borders of the Falx Empire in an estimate of thirteen more days." APD-01 replied inorganically, with not that much enthusiasm surprisingly.

"Why do you see so down today APD?"

"Well it's because we're not going somewhere new, even though it's been awhile since we have been to the Falx Empire, it's not new." he said sounding somewhat depressed.

"Ah you'll be fine APD, your a robot after all! By the way is Sarah still in her room?"

I asked as I stood up from my seat, walking towards the door.

"Yes, after going in last night she has yet to come out. And Master, why did you bring this female human on board? Your not gonna do anything that might be deemed inappropriate now?" He said while winking his top eye at me, which actually looked pretty disturbing.

"Spare the thought APD, I just decided to do something different and travel with another living person for a short while. Don't worry about it too much, she'll die of old age before you notice." was what I finished with right before I walked out of the bridge heading back towards the quarters section.

It's nice to be back on board and to see that all the droids are back to normal and working as I walk through the corridors. I arrive in front of Sarah's room within minutes of my walk, lightly knock her door.

Thud. Thud.

Surprisingly she opened up right after I knocked, with nothing seeming out of the ordinary.

"Hey Sarah, I visited because I thought I should explain a couple of things to you since we have the free time."

"Yeah, come on in. Since I didn't get the time to bring anything with me, my room is pretty plain right now. What surprised me was that the droids actually brought me some female clothes, from another room down the hall. What's that about?"

"Oh those are from a long time ago, and old crew member of this ship. I'll explain in a minute, in which you'll understand." I tell her as I sit down on a chair in the corner of her room, while she sits on her bed.

"A long time ago, about 2.3 billion years ago in the galaxy was a great war among the first of this galaxy's races.(Refer to first chapter) I was involved in that war apart as a member of the royal Versanos family which governed the Immortal race."

"Wait your Immortal, like can't die immortal?" She exclaims in surprise as if she just found out that she was adopted.

"Don't interrupt please, I was going to explain that. We are not what you would call true immortal's as we can still be killed like any other normal being, but what I mean by immortal is that we never age nor can we die by any natural means. From the moment we Immortal's are born, we age normally until the age of 21, where we stop aging completely. Even we who were regarded as the most intelligent of all species still could not fathom at how this phenomenon exists. This Immortality just means that we cant die by age, disease, sickness nor any other natural way that exists. With our longevity we had procreated so much where our populations reached into the trillions. We also had devised many customs that would seem impossible for other races, such as that to become an actual captain of your own ship, you must build it yourself with no help from anyone."

"You mean that this ship, you built yourself?!" She looks at me incredulously.

"Yes, in fact it took me exactly 847 years for me make the Evanescent with my own hands, piece by piece. By the way the reason it's name the Evanescent is actually from a joke my father said about it when I finished building it. He told me " Zen my son, it's a beautiful ship but with you leading it, I don't think it will last long in space! Haha, it would be ironic to name it something like the evanescent where we who live forever command it. Hahaha!" After that I decided to prove it worng by naming it that and making my ship last the longest in our history, sadly it came true in a way I did not expect."

"Here let us order some food from the kitchen bots, before I continue my story! I think you'll enjoy these delicious Abirion steak burgers that are considered a delicacy in the Falx Empire!"
