The Plan

2 weeks later

okay so here's the plan I said to absolutely no one. Sometimes I like to say my plans out loud so I can correct anything. It's weird I know since anybody could be listening consider the fact we can hear things a mile away. But anyway, my plan so far was to scout the area and learn the formations of the outside guards. So, when I went in I knew who to avoid when and at what time. So far, I have spotted 4 guards near the east wing patrolling in groups of two they each carry flare guns with different colors I'm assuming its to signal each other just in case there is a breach. Their planning and safety skills really are good, like the Fae are known for speed agility and good sense (basically reflexes). The goblins are known for their smarts incredible fighting skills and strength. So, the guards didn't disappoint they were bulky and heavily armed which I assumed made them heavy. Better for me at least I didn't have to worry about trying to escape. But there were 5 guards on the west wing which made me wonder why the extra man or was there a guard who called in sick on the east wing.

I laughed quietly to myself imagining a 6-foot goblin with muscles that looked like boulders bulging with every movement, saying he couldn't come in for night duty because he had a cold. Or maybe they needed more people to protect something. I grinned to myself bingo, at least now I didn't need to sneak around the castle searching randomly. I climbed down the tree I was on and started to head home. But the 5th guard on the west wing caught my attention

He was skinnier than the other guards. not saying they were fat but they were bulky. He was lean and muscular with long silky hair that was half braided and half wasn't, the hair reaching his mid back. He was wearing a gold and silver cape connected to some ancient looking beads that went under his arms like a backpack then connected back to a gold and silver pendant that rested at the base of his throat. oh, he was also shirtless I couldn't see much in the dark so I couldn't confirm the muscular and toned body's they were fabled to have. But I did notice a sword hanging low on his hips in a gold sheath with an image of the sun etched on it. Over the years I learned that in goblin world the color of an ear ring on a goblin. the higher the rank. So, it went copper: for peasant's, silver: for officers, and gold: for high ranking officials. This guy had 2 whole earrings, on one ear he had a gold earring on the other he had another and it was pulsing a bright red like it was alive.

He started talking to one of the muscle heads pointing towards the woods to my right, when he finished talking they were saluting him and bowing at his back. Did they bow to high ranks in goblin world I thought that was meant for royals only? I was deep in my thoughts when I realized that earrings had stopped walking and was staring in my direction his goblin ears pointing upwards. I took that as my cue to run. Looking back only once to see him still looking at me with his fiery red eyes. Wait red, another strange thing, I thought only the royal family was fabled to have had red eyes. But they were all dead except the goblin king, Right?
