Prologue

[Unedited.]

"Lucian!" My father yells as I run out of the house into the forest while breathing heavily.

'What is happening?'

"AHHH" I scream as my body starts to tear itself apart and reattach itself.

Before I know it I start running, in no particular direction I just start running. My heart starts to race and I start to cry. But when I cry nothing falls, my eyes just start to get foggy.

(remember he is only 13 right now.)

I hear my dad yell one last time in the far distance, not knowing what to do I continue to run away.

With no destination in mind I just let my feet carry me.

Unknown to Lucian but Billy and all the other tribe leaders are in the midst of trying to find their lost pup.

"Where did he go?" Billy asks no one in particular.

"Billy, his trail ran cold about 50 miles east of here, we followed it until he crossed a river."

Billy starts to pace around the room.

"Come home Lucian."

Random person POV.

4 years later.

"Where is it?" A student asks with a camera in his hand.

"Just wait, once you see him you can't miss him." I respond.

I am currently leading a group of kids on a tour around Yellowstone.

A couple years back a massive wolf made its home in Yellowstone, since then massive amounts of tourists flock here each year To catch a glimpse of this massive beast.

A herd of bison starts to walk out into the open field.

"Get your cameras ready, I think he's about to show himself," I say grabbing my binoculars.

As if on cue a massive black and grey wolf darts out of the forest and slams into the side of a bull bison knocking him over, the wolf doesn't waste this opportunity and sinks his teeth into the bison's neck.

*crack*

Everyone takes a step back unconsciously, the sound alone can scare an adult.

After killing the bison, the wolf lifts the bison and starts to trot back into the forest to eat in peace.

Everyone's shock starts to wear off.

"I-Its bigger in person." a kid says not taking his eyes off the area the wolf ran to.

I just nod my head.

"Alright, now I will take y'all to old faithful." I say as the kids make there way into the bus.

Lucian POV.

I don't remember much before I became a wolf, I remember the taste and smells, but people and places are a foggy memory, after running for while I started to remember the old stories Dad used to tell me, and that's how I figured I was a wolf, although now I don't even remember those.

The only thing I know for sure is that I have a Dad and my name is Lucian other than that I am lost, I don't know how long I've been like this but it can't be a long time.

My wolf has grown tremendously ever since I started feeding on the massive prey around here, where ever here is.

I have started to become more wolf than human and that scares me, when I go on the hunt I let my instincts take over, but recently it's been harder to gain control again.

'I'm starving.' I think before I stand up and stretch.

I lift my head in the air and take a big whiff to see if there is anything nearby, and I smelled the sweetest and most delicious thing I have ever smelled.

Without thinking I let my instincts take over, and I start to run through the forest.

It didn't take me long but I soon reached the source of such a smell.

A human, reading a book while humming a song.

'I can't.' I think to myself while trying to gain control again, I start to walk towards the girl. I try my hardest to take control again but nothing is working.

Olivia Woods POV.

*humming Surrender by Natalie Taylor.*

I flip a page of my book, you may be asking why I'm reading a book in the middle of a forest, well it's soothing.

Before I could finish another page I hear and twig snap and start to hear a growl.

I quickly stand up dropping my book on the ground, I look toward where I heard the sound and see a massive wolf.

I go to run but I trip over my book and I fall on the ground, as if waiting for this to happen the wolf jumps on top of me, before I could even scream it opens it's mouth but before It could kill me our eyes meet and from that moment on my whole life changed.
