Training Montage and Entrance Exam!

The next morning, after breakfast and getting permission from a barely awake Mother, the twins set off to Dagoba beach for training. All Might also said to bring Kyo along as well. Perhaps his training can help bot of them?

Arriving at the beach, the doul was met with a dump, it was a beach with bottles for sand and appliances for dunes, there were even some vehicles, like cars vans and even a giant rusted trucks. The only actual sand they could see had two silhouettes, one a hulking towering rabbit shaped man, and the other seemed to be a small oval with entente over top and a huge Nail blade dragging behind it.

Approaching All Might and the hobbit, they were introduced to the retired hero, The Nail Sage. This old hero was remarkably small, and not just small because he's old (like every old person it BNHA), but smaller then even recovery girl! But in an instant of logical reasoning the twins mutually mentally agreed to NEVER MENTION IT!

"HELLO YOUNG MIDORIAS! I HAVE BROUGHT, THIS 'WELL RENOWN' HERO, TO TRAIN THE TALLER YOUNG MIDORIA IN HIS NAIL ARTS, SO YOU CAN BOTH TRAIN IN YOUR RESPECTIVE FIELDS!"

"Yeah, what he said, c'mon kid we've only got ten months, follow me."

The small man seemed all to eager to escape the flamboyant pillar of muscle.

Hurriedly catching up the agile swordsman, Kyo wave back to his brother.

He followed the Nail man to, the parking lot behind the beach.

"Now, after your brother drags trash up here for the pick-up trucks, we will be chopping it up to smaller sizes to save money. So I will teach you to use your Nail more efficiently and effectively..." the cheapskate declared. "It seems like their taking their time... fine then. While we're waiting for them to be more productive, we might as well get to know each other. My name is, Sly Phlee, But you will call me sensei."

<Do you understand sign?>

"Sh*t."

They first improved the strength of his slash, by cutting weaker materials such as ply wood, then moved onto rusted copper, then to copper, choosing harder and harder materials until he could cut through anything as if it was cardboard. He was then told to work on his SOUL attacks, he tried squashing plastic bottles with desolate dive to increase its area and strength, and vengeful spirits accuracy and speed along with their cost of spirit. He even started throwing his Pale Nail and Mantis Claw so he could have more options. Then he trained his boost effect's accuracy by playing hopscotch, very time he made it flawlessly, the squares would get smaller and more spread out.

"I think it's time I taught you some of my *magnificent* techniques, the first one? Is the simplest: Great Slash. Now copy me..." jumping into the air, whilst somehow carrying the giant nail, he seemed to glow... and he didn't even use SOUL! *thwooh* In a flash, a bright crescent was drawn into the air, as the giant blade seemingly teleported to the end of the sword stroke. "The luminescence is called sword intent, to draw it out, one must focus; clearing your thoughts of distractions. Something I strangely believe you will find rather simple." He gestured for his disciple to take the stage. And that he did. He proceeded to flawlessly recreate a smaller identical, crescent of light, it felt like it could cut through anything, he also gained some extra airtime... somehow.

"Excellent keep practicing while I balance my bank account, I'm not doing this for free you know, I have a shop to run!"

Despite his sensei's dismissive declaration, still practiced just as eagerly.

The next day, the Yoda like teacher taught him the 'Dash Slash', it was essentially using a burst of speed to bat the foe further away, and create a more precise point of contact.

Once again he was taught a new move the next day. This technique's name is 'Cyclone Slash', and is used to attack in every direction repeatedly, and potentially also slowing your descent, Kyo saw this as a good move to use on stationary targets, as they would take a hefty amount of damage per rotation.

"There is still more techniques to teach you, but they'll have to wait until... after the sports festival. They require... a more specialized training ground. Now I believe you had a question for me?"

<Right.>

Instead of handing over his notebook, he held the position of a Nail strike... without his Nail. In place of his Nail, was what seemed to be SOUL at first glance, but there was something else. Particles of light, the particles looked like doilies, this must be essence! After charging it with sword intent, he swiped at the air. Although there was a slash, the air did not move, there was no sound.

"He's the Hollow One? Well I'll be damned..." Lice whispered. "So, your question is about essence? I'm afraid I don't know all too much. But I'll try my best: that is The Spirit Nail, when it strikes a living body, you will not cause damage, but will read their living essence. Living essence can not be severed from its host.

To collect formless essence you must slay dead spirits, dead spirits absorb formless essence to maintain their existence.

Sorry kid that's all I know." With that said, Lice started to leave.

"Keep practicing kiddo, there's still a lot of trash left to shred. Oh and here take this." He hands Kyo a note, with a strange item loosely attached. It says, 'for being an excellent student. Pho. XXXX XXX XXX XXX.' The item attached seemed to be carved from brass, it held an energy that resonates with his right hand's Nail marking.

"If you meet my big bro 'Zote', tell him I miss him, he's always had an inferiority complex. Anyways, good luck kid!"

<Uh, you too...>

Another five months pass by, and the twins are bong much stronger then before. Kyo can now cut through steel like tissue paper, and his 'raised spirit' mid-ranged attack, is now extremely accurate. His standard slash, along with the damage, increased in range, and speed. Izuku had grown visibly stronger, his hight has definitely now improved... he's still short.

The beach was cleaned spotless at that point, combed of glass and metal shards. Zuku had just recently been bestowed All for One, via carbonated beverage with spit, (after being reasoned with by Kyo). Now in the winters morning, they're approaching the written exam area.

"GET OUT OF MY WAY DEKU!!!"

"Kacchan! H-Hey, l-l-let the best m-man w-win!"

<aaand, he's ignoring you. Good job. I still don't know why he hates you.>

"None of that matters now, this is a new beginning. Our first step, to being HEROES!" *trip* Izuku clumsily starts to fall onto the brick pathway. 'Huh?' But he was held up by his scarf and the scruff of his blazer.

<Watch that first step, it's a doozy.>

"... *sigh* thanks"

<Was it a nice trip?>

"Please, shush up?"

Although finding the situation funny, people around thought Kyo was reprimanding him, since most people can't read sign, and his face made them think he was being very serious. It was not a good first impression to say the least.

Upon entering the testing zone, they were seated in separate classrooms, and seated at desks with test, blah blah blah. Turns out Kyo had overestimated the required knowledge for the test, and passed each question with amazing speed and detail, and leaving lots of time to rest on benches.

Soon enough (after 3 hours), it was time for the practical exam debrief. Where they were forced to sit next to short fuse boy.

"WELCOME TO MY LIVE SHOW! CAN I GET A HEEEY!" The human parakeet, squawked at full volume. Garnering a total response of nothing.

'Coming on a little strong ther bud...'

"I'VE GOT SHIVERS DOWN MY SPINE TO LISTENERS! ALRIGHT EXAMINEES, LEMME GIVE YOU THE LOW DOWN, ON HOW THIS'LL GO DOWN! ARE YA' READY!?" ... silence once again...

Now ignoring the human megaphone, Kyo looks over his pamphlet.

'Robots huh? I might actually enjoy this.'

——————————————————————————————————————————————

The brothers were separated, due to the nature of the practical exam.

"GO!" The banshee abruptly screeched.

'Don't need to tell me twice!'

Summoning his equipment, he jumped high in the air and started dashing forward through the crowd. snapping some contestants out of their stunned state, they started stampeding through the lowered gates, out into the giant forest.

Immediately Kyo dashed and boosted from tree to tree, quickly finding his first foe.

The one-pointer bots? Quick but dainty, easy-peasy! Using =Dash Slash= they're instantly decapitated.

The two-pointer bots? Melee mashers, a mere sock puppet before the Pale Nail! =Great Slash= shut them up real quick.

The three-pointer bot? Slow missiles make big booms! Boosting of explosions, is great fun! (only possible due to his fights with Katsuki). Same death as the one-pointer!

But, he was training to be a hero! How could he not help those in need? He keep an eye out for those that can't destroy and dodge missiles as easily as he can, they were usually either exhausted, or needed to charge up attacks more then in dire straights.

Seeing only five minutes left on the proverbial clock, he took up post on top of a near by hardwood.

A large geometric robot; towering over the nearby trees(which were very tall for their artificial ages). He figured that 'he had time to destroy, so why not, he had the skill set, there might even be someone in trouble!' With that in mind, he took of at high speeds towards the robotic behemoth.

"HELLO!?"

Arriving, he noticed a frog-like girl stuck in some visibly solidifying tar. No doubt due to someone abusing their quirk to sabotage the competition, right at the end too! But, if Kyo just arrived in front of her, she would feel intimidated or uncomfortable. Fortunately he had come up with an intelligent countermeasure! Taking some form of plastic/wax-paper from his pocket he used a black sharpie to draw... a harp? and peeled it in half before sticking it on his mask! The mask now looked much friendlier, with a smile on it... right? Anyways he revealed himself to her. Although the mask didn't have the intended effect of reassurance, it did cheer her up somehow.

Now, redrawing his sword, he sent a vengeful spirit to the eight eye-cameras on the face of the mecha-bot, breaking if not blinding the titanic droid's vision. Using this distracting destruction, he started scaling the zero-pointer effortlessly due to his Mantis Claw and his weightless athleticism. Then entered the metal beast's head by carving a hole for himself, and severed the head entirely by using an angled Cyclone Slash!

Done with his masterpiece, he went back to check on the victim, who was staring at her ghostly savior curiously.

Unmasking himself and letting the sticker fall, his handsomeness showed it's worth by inducing a light blush on the amphibious girl. He then signed.

<Do you speak sign?>

"...*ribbit*"

On the walk home, Zuku and Kyo were talking about their scores, and the events during. The green boy felt kind of ashamed, comparing himself to his adopted twin, despite Kyo's constant support.

Once at home they were welcomed home by a loving mother, and their favorite dinner. Then went to their room for further debate on professional heroes values.

This is kinda like a passion project to me, and I don’t like leaving thing unfinished, so please show support and suggestions.

Do you like the pairing?

Do you want an AUHornet to be added?

I will not be doing 18+ scenes, as I don’t feel comfortable writing them, and I’m not good at it.

BUT THER WILL BE FLUFF!

There will also be secrets on academy grounds!
