The Heretic Sword God

The Heretic Sword God, The One Who Betrayed All, The Thousand-Faced God, The Jester's Blade... These were all names given to one person by the masses; Khoru. But, that's too far into the future. Let's start at Khoru's beginning, his start on the path to both supreme and unparalleled strength, and godhood... Khoru, originally someone from a distant planet known as Kale Planet, perished and reincarnated on another planet. In his next life, Khoru realized that there was a drastic difference between the two worlds. This world had supernatural powers. The people of this world could awaken supernatural beings known as 'Martial Spirits' at the age of 12. Not only would these beings aid people in their cultivation, they could even provide people with magical items or abilities. Khoru just so happened to be born into a small noble family in Yellow Apple Town; The Ghostly Blade Family. They were a noble family full of sword fanatics. It was said that each member of the family would awaken a weapon type, almost always a sword-type, Martial Spirit. They were all extremely powerful as well. So now, not only did Khoru have to survive in a supernatural world where death was as common as eating, he also had to live up to the expectations of his overbearing family... And even worse, he was born as the illegitimate son of one of the supreme elders of the family! Fear not though, because Khoru won't fold under pressure so easily! = = = = = [Cover does not belong to me, I only edited it a bit.]

Air Collapsing Yin-Yang Sword Art

"Visit the family library tomorrow to look for a sword-art that you think would match your Martial Spirit." Xin Xuan said to Khoru before leaving his room. After that, he fell asleep...

"Until now, I've only been in the front area of the library, as I wasn't allowed any further than that. Plus, there was even detection magic encased inside the rest of the library building. Now, I'm officially allowed further into the library..." Khoru walked through the hallways that were laced with red velvet carpets.

He reached the family library shortly after, which was about the size of two small buildings. It was also four stories and contained numerous cultivation manuals, as well as sword-arts and other fighting techniques.

But mainly sword-arts.

Khoru entered the library confidently and looked around. He then walked up to the old man who seemed to be sleep with a straw hat covering his face. Khoru found it quite amusing that someone akin to a country bumpkin was in charge of the library.

"Hello, mister. I've come here to look for a sword-art and cultivation manual." Khoru said. He waved his hand, in case the man didn't hear him.

The man jumped up and rubbed his eyes, clearly indicating that he was fast asleep just now. he then inspecting the small child before him and spoke.

"You? Who's son are you? Wait...You're the bastard child aren't you? Sorry kid, but you're not allowed past the first floor, one of the supreme elder's partners said so." The man looked sincerely disheartened.

Khoru expected something like this and immediately knew that it was a ploy crafted by Huanfeng's wife.

'You thought something as simple as that could hinder my growth?' Khoru thought to himself before speaking again.

"That's alright. I don't plan on looking for anything special anways." Khoru said before walking past the man and entering the first floor of the library. He was amazed by the amount of books that filled the rows of bookshelves.

The bookshelves covered the entire first floor and made him feel so small. Khoru felt as if he was in some sage's library.

'It's like the temple of knowledge or something...' Khoru thought to himself with a grin on his face. He then explored the library, trying to find something that he thought would match with his Martial Spirits.

Yesterday, he had done extensive tests with his Martial Spirits. He discovered that his dark blue sword was able to inflict physical damage, while his dark purple sword was able to inflict mental damage.

He came up with an idea, and that was to find sword-arts that corresponded with the properties of each sword. He also wanted to try his luck at getting a cultivation manual that could do something similar to cultivating both mental and physical power.

As Khoru looked around the library, he dragged his fingers across a row of books until he stopped. He narrowed his eyes and read the words on the casing of one particular manual.

It read 'Air Collapsing Yin-Yang Sword-Art'.

Khoru was intrigued by this and opened the manual to read it. The manual regarded the elements of Yin and Yang, two contracting elements the would either create chaos upon imbalance, or create serenity upon an equilibrium.

"One is gentle like the quietest of lakes, and one is as chaotic as the raging seas." Khoru read those introductory words and instantly felt a weird sensation within his body. He subconsciously made the decision to choose that manual for his Martial Spirit cultivation.

'Now I need something for mortal cultivation...' Khoru roamed the library with a manual in hand and a pleasant smile on his face.

He suddenly heard gentle footsteps approaching him and turned to his left, in which he saw a familiar face.

"Why are you here?" A childlike feminine voice disturbed the silence and tranquility of the library. It was a voice that Khoru had conversed with recently.

"I've no business with you, pardon me." Khoru spoke as he walked away from his half-sister. He heard her footsteps approaching him again, so he increased his pace and walked behind the bookshelves.

Every few seconds he'd see his half-sisters silhouette following him on the other side of the bookshelves.

'Troublesome.' Khoru thought. He noticed his half-sister's body turn into ghostly shadows every few seconds as if she was teleporting. Just as Khoru was about to do something to get rid of her, an overwhelming pressure fell down upon the entire library.

Khoru felt it originating from the front of the library, probably from the old man.

Finally, his half-sister restrained herself and stopped following him like a pest.

"I sense no aura around you. To get this far without prior cultivation, maybe you aren't too worthless as I presumed." She said in a cold tone.

After that, she turned into ghostly smoke and disappeared from the library. Khoru then went back to looking for a mortal cultivation manual.

Before he moved, his eye caught the words on a manual that seemed to have grabbed his interest.

"Four Devils Body Strengthening Technique..." Khoru's eyes glistened with excitement as he opened the manual with haste. He tried his best to keep his mouth tightly shut as he read the words written in the manual.

"Be tortured by a devil to temper your body. This technique has four stages and each higher stage summons an even stronger devil."

Khoru's body shuddered when he thought about being tortured by devils. Regardless, he was never one to back down from anything and he knew full well that success wasn't achieved through slacking and laziness.

If he wanted to get stronger, he have to work for for strength!

Khoru decided to choose the manual and exited the library. He stopped at the counter at which the old man sat. The old man diverted his gaze towards the manuals and was surprised.

"Kid, you think you can cultivate these? Even though their on the first floor, they have the potential to rival weak second floor techniques. And their requirements are harsh..." The old man looked worried.

Khoru reassured him with a look of confidence. "Don't worry, old man. I can take care of myself and handle these manuals just fine."

The old man lightly grunted before grabbing the stamp and stamping both manuals.

"These stamps wear off in two months. Once they disappear, return them and you can choose whether or not to renew the time limit or put them back. Now go..." The old man explained everything to Khoru.

"Got it."
