McGonagall always finds a way to keep me on my toes. I've been having to take different routes every night, and some nights she still finds me. The school year is entering its final stretch. I'm trying not to pass the 200-point mark.

As I pass a slightly ajar door, I hear the growling of a dog. Now that I think about it, this is where Fluffy is kept. The three-headed dog that Hermione told me about.

Why is the door leading into his room open?

My hand reaches out, and I pull the door open. A giant three-headed dog named Fluffy is waiting. It's too busy growling at the now open trapdoor. Guarding something from the looks of it. I pull the door open a little more, making it creak.

That's when a heavy gulp travels down my throat. The dog's heads turn in my direction, and each looks angrier than the last.

"Uh-oh."

Without thinking, I pull out my wand. As the dog thrashes to get to me, my mind races through all the spells I know. All the things I can use here. But a stray thought lingers.

I can't kill Fluffy.

A none leather spell that'll save my life and allow me to get through the trapdoor. I don't know why, but something down there is pulling me toward it. As the dog is almost on me, a relatively normal spell enters 1st place.

"Immobulus!"

The words leave me in a state of urgency. As the blue light leaves the tip of my wand, Fluffy stops in his tracks and can't move. The spell won't last long against a magic creature as strong as a three-headed dog.

I run toward the trap door and fall within. As the darkness of the fall surrounds me, the distance and echoing barking of Fluffy is heard above me.

The landing is strangely soft and squishy. I look around me, and that's when I realize I've entered another dangerous situation. I've found myself in a patch of Devil's Snare. However, I quickly sink through.

Upon closer inspection, the carnivorous plant is highly damaged. Near-death at this point. Getting my bearings, I dust off my clothes and take a breath.

"Find me..."

A voice in the wind fills my ears. Coming from the direction of the only pathway I can see. My wand is back in my hand, knowing it'd be dumb to walk around in the dark.

"Lumos."

A gentle and calming hum is heard as light emits from my wand.

Ron is unconscious as the attack from the opposing piece has taken an effect on him. Harry has gone on ahead. I hope he's okay. We've bitten off more than we can chew by coming down here. One of my friends is hurt, and the other is off doing who knows what.

The sound of crushed ceramic is behind me, and I spin around. Only to see a familiar face with his wand out. Lighting the way onto the board.

"Alex? What are you doing down here?! You shouldn't be here. It's dangerous."

Instead of answering me, he makes his way to Ron and kneels down. Placing his hand on his throat. A visible sign of relief takes form on Alex.

"Well, you guys didn't kill yourselves down here. Yet. You're lucky that I walked by the door leading to Fluffy. It was left slightly open."

Oh.

"Where's Harry?"

My eyes turn toward the hallway leading deeper into the corridors of Hogwarts. As I take a closer look, it seems that Alex has sustained a couple of cuts, probably from all those flying keys we had to deal with earlier.

"He went ahead alone. I'm worried about him."

Again, he doesn't respond to me. He stands up and starts walking in the direction Harry went. I want to stand up and stop him. But I shouldn't leave Ron's side. If the situation were reversed, he'd be here waiting for me.

You can say much about Ron, but he's a loyal friend.

"Somethings wrong... Something very dark is ahead..."

His low voice reaches back to me as I watch him turn the corner and leave my view.

I hope they'll be okay...
