~~~(POV: Alexander Aevum)~~~
~~~(Location: Gryffindor Common Room)~~~

~~~(Date: September 2nd, 1991)~~~
~~~(Time: 3:15 PM)~~~

All the Gryffindors, including me, plop down on the many couches and chairs around the common room. I missed most of my classes today, and you don't get grade penalties for missing class.

I might cause the house to lose points. It depends if I get discovered or not. I sit down near the fireplace since it's rather cold today.

I pull out my bag with all my books and cast Engorgio on it with a slight wave of my wand. It gets bigger, and I dig some books out. The first one is a book on potions that aren't taught at Hogwarts.

The other two are history books on the architecture of Hogwarts. I lay two of them down and start reading from the potions book. While potions aren't practical for use in the middle of a battle. It can give you many advantages before going into one.

"How come you skipped most of your classes today?"

My reading is interrupted by the familiar voice of Granger. I'm surprised she has the courage to approach me after what happened in DADA. The Finnigan boy did a good job embarrassing her in front of everyone.

I lift my head from the book and see Granger's waiting for an answer. She's calm and collected, trying to act like an adult even though we're 11 and 12.

"Other things to do, Granger. I'm sure I'll get what's coming from skipping classes, so don't worry."

She straightens up her back and looks like she wants to say something. I could read her mind, but that wouldn't be very nice. It's already hard for her to speak.

She lets out a huff in frustration, which is cute, and now I can see that she doesn't usually act like this, and it's making her mad.

"What were you talking about with that girl from Slytherin? Greengrass is her name."

I smile lightly and close my book. After a few seconds of awkward staring, I hold out the potions book to her. She looks at me with confusion.

"What's this got to do with my question..."

As she's a bookworm, I'm surprised she's questioning why I'm handing her knowledge.

That means she's earnest about her question regarding Greengrass.

"She was worried about me not taking any notes. She's a sweet girl, considering she's from Slytherin."

Granger squints her eyes and scowls ever so slightly at my words.

"Potions class is hard because of the teacher, Snape. This will help you stay on his good side. As long as you do good in potions, life will be easier in that class."

She looks down at the book and sees it's an advanced textbook on potions that isn't part of the Hogwarts curriculum.

She takes it with a giant smile appearing on her lips.

"Thanks..."

It comes out as a small whisper, and she quickly leaves for the girl's bedrooms. I was going to spend some time reading. But there is one place I want to check out, and I must sneak out tonight.

The Restricted Section of the Library will surely have books I haven't even read yet.

The hard part is not getting caught, and while I can cast an Invisibility Charm. I'm sure there are plenty of protection charms keeping students like me out.

I can always ask Albus, but he's already taking time to train me in The Room of Requirement. I can't ask too much of the man. Many will accuse Albus of special treatment.

Which he's giving me. It's around 3:30 now, visiting time and study hall. I can go to the library and scope it out. Look for weaknesses in any of the Protection Charms.
