I hold my ticket for the Hogwarts Express and smile. All I have is my wand and my ticket for the train ride.

"Are you excited about your first day at your new school?"

I nod my head as the taxi pulls up. Beth wraps me in a big hug, and I reciprocate. Beth has been there for me the most over the years. She's shown me love despite not being her child.

"I'm pretty excited about it. I should be coming back during the breaks. I'll send you a letter if things change."

She nods her head and kisses my forehead as I enter the taxi. Beth tells the man Kings Cross Station is the destination and pays for the fair beforehand.

The taxi driver approaches Kings Cross, and I exit the vehicle. I make my way to where platforms 9 and 3 quarters are supposed to be. I see some magical families entering and exiting the pillar holding the signs for platforms 9 and 10.

Albus did say a special charm keeps muggles from seeing the rest of the wizarding world.

I'm a little under an hour early before the train ride starts. Despite that, there are still plenty of people here. Families and friends talking to each other. Catching up from the previous year.

Doesn't take me long to walk up to the train and enter. While I might have to end up sharing a compartment, I'll enjoy the time to myself.

My hand reaches into my robe, and I take my wand. Using it to write down my thoughts on my current subject. I hardly got to practice with it due to living in the muggle world.

My body finds its way to the bench, and I lay down. Proceeding to stare at the ceiling of the compartment, my thoughts about Summa Exitium being written down. Occlumency has provided a new branch of thought power.

I close my eyes and continue to use the journal to write my thoughts down. My thoughts are interrupted by a knock on my compartment door. I open my eyes and wave my wand. It opens, and I see another fellow first-year.

He has dark black hair, is chubby, and has two buck teeth.

"This compartment taken?"

After shaking my head and I wave for him to come in. He stands across from me and puts away all his stuff. He takes a look at the floating journal and my use of magic.

"You're a first-year?"

I nod my head with my eyes still closed.

"My name is Neville. What's your name?"

I guess I have to socialize a bit. He seems like a friendly kid too.

[A/N: I'm not writing out the stuttering nature of Neville here. That's way too tedious to me.]

My journal closes and heads back into my magical book bag. I look at Neville.

"Alexander Aevum. Nice to meet you, Neville."

I hold out my hand for a handshake, and he shakes it.
