bandits

During the period that followed, I noticed how Helen approached Art to ask about that feint. Art explained the details of the maneuver without any problem. Additionally, I discovered that Reynold, Adam, and Durden leaned in to listen attentively to the explanation.

During practice, Reynolds called me to also try the same maneuver. However, at that moment I didn't really feel like participating, as I was being pampered by Angela, the wind conjurer, who was delighted with my cuteness. To prevent them from continuing to insist, I simply showed them how to do it following Art's explanation.

This surprised everyone, and when they asked me how I had done it, I simply responded with my innocent voice: "Isn't it obvious? Just follow those steps." I must admit it was quite amusing to see their embarrassed faces upon hearing my response. After that, they dispersed to practice on their own.

It's worth mentioning that Jasmine was the first in the group to learn it, so I went to congratulate her. She simply looked at me and nodded, thanking me curtly. But despite that, I could see a small smile, so I knew she was also quite happy.

After that, the journey continued, but in my case, I wasn't as relaxed as before because I knew what was coming.

Until after a while, we finally heard what I was expecting.

ꟷ¡Bandits! ¡Prepare to fight!

Helen shouted, making everyone alert. Meanwhile, Alice covered both me and Arthur with her arms so we wouldn't see the fight outside the carriage, but this had little effect, as several attacks tore through the carriage's covering, allowing us to see everything around us.

Noticing this, I saw there were about 30 bandits in total, of which there were only 4 conjurers and the rest were ordinary people. Ignoring the absurd words of the bandit leader, I focused on the actions of some of the enhancers who were fighting.

After a while, the fight began to turn in our favor. The vast majority of the bandits were dead, leaving only the enhancers and some archers, which was good news for us.

Until a loud noise caught our attention.

It was Reynold, who had been thrown towards the remains of what was left of the Earth Wall spell and was struggling to regain consciousness, blood dripping from the corners of his mouth.

Noticing this, Art was the first to go out to see him, followed by Alice and me trailing behind. It was also revealed that mother was pregnant, which made the atmosphere even stranger.

When Mother's chant ended, both Father and she shone with a radiant golden-white light.

ꟷSonova! There's one who's a healer! Don't let him escape!ꟷ roared the leader.

After finishing healing Reynolds, Arthur looked at me and simply nodded, so the next moment we both grabbed Mother and ran to a slightly safer place, allowing them to worry a little less and fight at 100%.

We arrived at the spot where Adam and the dual-sword user were fighting, a few meters from the road.

ꟷArt, hurry up, I'll hold him off!ꟷ Adam shouted as he kept his opponent at bay.

Noticing that, we went down the slope, but my gaze was clearly directed towards the surroundings, as I knew someone was hiding. Until a few seconds later, I noticed an arrow approaching Alice from Arthur's side, who also noticed this and managed to deflect the attack.

Seeing her being thrown off, I quickly went to her side and helped her safely regain her balance, and then handed my wooden sword to Arthur, as his had broken from that arrow attack.

ꟷDamien! Forget the plan, don't leave any alive!ꟷ shouted the leader.

"It's time," I thought as I noticed a mage on the side chanting a spell. When he finished reciting the spell, a pressurized sphere of at least 3 meters in diameter was approaching, increasing in size with each passing second.

I acted quickly, placing myself in front of them. I gathered all the mana I could in my lungs and, with determination, expelled a burst of fire from my mouth. Meanwhile, Arthur pushed Alice to the side to protect her from the imminent danger.

The flame collided with the water sphere, which quickly absorbed it. However, this brief moment gave us a valuable opportunity. In which Arthur had already thrown his mana-charged knife and hit that caster while falling.

With the last trace of mana remaining, I directed it to my legs and ran with all my might towards Arthur and then jumped.

This whole process was quite fast and I managed to reach Art, so I quickly pushed him towards me and used my body to shield him, with the intention of protecting him and preventing him from getting hurt, as well as with other ideas in mind, which could give me a great advantage.

The impact of the spell caused me sharp pain, but I did not stop. Likewise, I felt Arthur pull a thread of maná which was connected to the knife stuck in the foot of the conjurer who had cast the water spell earlier, causing it to fall with us.

On their part, father and Helen had just killed the leader. Angela, supported by Jasmine, had managed to finish off the whip user. Meanwhile, I saw Durden desperately trying to cast a spell to save us, but it was already too late; the spell had thrown us too far.

BOOM

The impact against a tree robbed me of all the oxygen from my lungs. Its force was such that I immediately knew I had a broken bone or two. With the increasing pain, my consciousness began to fade, but I held on with all my strength to protect Art's body. I could sense that he was trying to say something, but my senses were quickly clouding until I finally fell into unconsciousness.

..

<< Pain resistance has been acquired >>

<< High-level healing magic detected invading the owner's body>>

<<Analysis. Skill [Self-healing] has been acquired>>.

<<Extra skills [Low-level healing] and [Self-healing] acquired, Combining upgrading to extra skill [Regeneration]>>

<<Solution. Extra skill [Regeneration] acquired, do you wish to integrate it? YES NO>>

The voice of the Grand Sage woke me up a bit, but honestly, I wasn't in the mood to read much, so I just accepted and fell unconscious again, unaware that slowly my wounds were healing on their own.

When I woke up again, I could feel that the pain in my body had recovered quite a bit. I looked at my body, and it was much better than I imagined, because although there were still a few bruises, I didn't feel such great damage.

I looked to my side and saw the corpse of that bandit completely torn apart, which made me feel nauseous, so I decided to divert my attention as much as possible and directed my gaze to Arthur, who was unconscious on the ground.

"Great Sage, what has happened since the moment I fell unconscious?" I asked with some doubts.

<<Received. During your unconsciousness, the owner acquired extra skill [High-level Healing], which, when combined and upgraded with a you already possessed, formed new called [Regeneration]>>

<<Additionally, the skill [Pain Resistance] has been obtained, which interrupts creation of pain. Your Melee Attack Resistance reduced amount damage received. The your body suffered is ten percent.>>

<<Due to the owner's conditions, these skills were acquired without permission, as it was beneficial for host at that time>>

"It seems my previous plan was successful," I thought as I looked at what I had obtained just by falling off a cliff, which in my opinion is a good price.

Having a more or less idea of my situation, I looked back at Art, who was unconscious, so I approached him and decided it was time to help heal him.
