The Guardian and Protector

Guardian There was a new virtual reality game out called "Fantasia" where you could be anything you wanted, except at the beginning you had three class options and the option you chose determined your path. The good thing is that you could choose your preferences of what class you wanted to be. I got interested in the game because of the ads and because all my friends were talking about it. I was able to buy this capsule because I am a guard protecting a mansion so when I entered I was instantly presented with a blue screen asking me various things like what my job preference was but most importantly it asked me what I wanted my class to be which I answered "Guard". When I answered, three blue options appeared. [Guardian of the capital] [Rare class]. A prestige position you will make sure that no monster or suspicious person passes the gates of the capital at any cost including your life. [This class can evolve]. [Dungeon guardian] [Rare class]. You make sure that no monster leaves the dungeon and that no adventurer passes without paying. [This class can evolve]. [Guardian of progress] [Rare class] [Rare class]. You will start from the bottom of a guard, but you will also be able to climb from the top of the guard job. [This class can evolve.]

I was in the slave trader's caravan and I tried to get up, but with this body that still needed rest it was a difficult task, so I stopped trying when I heard someone approaching.

"Camus, you are awake! Thank you so much for what you did, I will give you extra pay when we get to the capital so get some rest" said the slave trader with some sadness.

"Let's hope I can get up, how are the other guards?" Camus asked

"Two are dead, one is half blind and the others have only minor injuries," replied the slave trader.

When I heard that I was shocked even though we had not spent much time together we all got along well we had laughed together fought talked together, and now they are gone.

What a strange thing death is I thought from one moment to the next you can be with someone and the next day never see them again, I looked at the floor in shock with nothing to think about but death.

"Where are their bodies?" I asked dejectedly.

"We have already buried them, they knew the risks, and you know it too, just rest, it would be good if you could get up with those wounds, although I doubt it".

I also doubted I was waiting to get up again.

When I woke up again I tried to stand up even with a lot of pain I was happy to get up after that bloody battle so many arrows in my legs arms and all over the body is good to be able to do something as common as getting up.

I put on my helmet the caravan was still moving, so I waited for it to stop, when the caravan stopped I got out to confirm some things and see my companions.

My companions looked discouraged, I approached one of them and asked them the reason for their sadness, although I thought I already knew there might be more reasons besides the death of our comrades.

"Why are we like this? Well I guess one reason is obvious, but the other is that the slaves escaped, no slaves, no pay" replied one of the guards.

"Why don't they complain?" I asked.

"If only things were as easy as complaining Camus" I was told by an old looking guard with a bandaged eye. "If we complain they will stop hiring us and this is the only job option, we have no right to anything" said the old guard angrily.

We were a few days late in reaching the capital due to bury the corpses so in the course of days I thought about the words of the old guard wanted to do something to help them, in those days I thought of something.

I approached the slave trader to strike up a conversation. I told him if he could pay the other guards and I would stay by his side to deliver three caravans of slaves without pay, he accepted, but he gave me a bag of money and told me not to call him by slave trader but by Jax.
