War pt. 3

After a while of waiting, our guest from the Last City arrived before us, looking surprised by the surroundings. Couldn't really blame them, we've amassed bodies and bones and used them as materials to fix ourselves, weapons, armor, and convert to ammo. Any undead I did raise were always destroyed, so at some point I stopped raising them. The guardians who arrived are six iconic figures that still look rather new as we glance at them. Giving them a slight lazy wave, I sat against a barricade made from SIVA as it crumbled slightly. The guardians before me are none other than Osiris, Shaxx, Zavala, Cayde-6, Ikor, and Saladin.

Looking at them still, I point suddenly at Cayde-6 causing him to snap to alertness. Grinning a bit at this, with my servos making a bit of an amused sound. I ask him something as SIVA makes some tendrils from my back, and gathers the dead bodies into piles.

"What is your name, rank, and years as a guardian? Because you lot are my juniors, and so I must ask a few questions. Also thank you, SIVA dear for making the room a bit neater."

Hearing me, SIVA gave me a tendril thumbs up making me chuckle a bit. Myriad went around grabbing the various weapons into one big pile for later. Cayde still looked confused by my sudden question and what's happening, but he eventually answered.

"Name's Cayde-00, I'm an apprentice guardian, I've been alive for fifty-four years. But uh, what do you mean by you're our senior? From what I know, the first guardian is lord Saladin."

"Wrong, if you asked your ghost, then you'd know that before the collapse began two guardians appeared. Two guardians who held this ground to keep the Warminds, humanity's greatest assets, safe. Granted, I probably had some undead slip by and help protect the population."

"If you and that wolf are the first guardians, why didn't you leave here for a century? There were times none of our enemies were actively attacking your location. You could've left to help the population and us, yet you sat here guarding the Warminds?"

The one to ask me so many questions was Osiris, who looked at me skeptically. Hearing him, me and Myriad looked at each other and then him before tilting our heads. This seemed to slightly erk the Egyptian man, which once he saw our small smirks he nearly nova bombed us. But SIVA created a particle cannon, and the Warminds all brought out war crime weapons, aimed at him. Grinning at him, forced to stand down, I stand up from the SIVA barricade.

"To answer your question Osiris, yes, I know who you are and what you'll become. I did do something before the collapse, the two of us and the Traveler did our best. We looked through the reports of strange sightings, we came up with plans, and we picked which individuals could be worth trying to revive. I bet you have all of Sparta on your side, do you not? King Arthur, Genghis Khan?, Adolf Hitler?, Fuck just anyone with a pair of balls worth having revived regardless of their past crimes we selected!

The Traveler carried out those impossible but important revivals the best it could. While I stayed here with the warminds carrying out protocol Survival. If we didn't keep them from falling, then more people would be dead, and there'd be no Last City. Hell, you wouldn't even have them up and running because they'd fail-safe themselves into a dormant state."

Osiris took a step back as my glowing insides got a bit brighter, dark necrotic fire forming around my fingers. Myriad was also snarling a bit at him as she looked ready to attack him until I calmed down with my necrotic energy receding. Shaxx, who is known for being a rash and undaunted war hero, stepped forward slamming a dawn hammer into the floor. He looked straight at us and what he said caught his fire team off guard a bit.

"I am Shaxx, former member of Dragoons Cavalry division. Now I am an Iron Lord and preside over the Vanguards Crucible. You are a Dragoon, aren't you?"

But hearing him, I blanked before tossing him a decaying insignia.

"Second lieutenant Chimera? It can't be…"

"That's General Chimera and Colonel Myriad now to you. But you're no longer a Dragoon, they've died out, we're just strangers now."

Hearing me, Shaxx silently approached us while his dawn hammer fizzled out. Standing before us, Shaxx actually hesitated, before saluting us and turning away back to his team. His fire team was surprised by this as they looked at him oddly for his actions. Ikora cleared her throat before looking at us and asked an important question.

"If you're the first guardians, then what class are you both? As myself and lord Osiris are Warlocks, Cayde is a Hunter, Zavala, lord Shaxx, and lord Saladin are Titans."

Scratching my chin a bit, I smirk at her question before spreading my arms wide. The dead corpses behind me in full sight as Myriad sits to my left looking smug.

"Well Ikora Ray, I'm a Warlock and Hunter, Myriad is a Titan and Hunter. Before you ask what kind we are, I'll say it clearly, Myriad is a Mythic Titan and Devourer Hunter. Me? I am a Beast Tamer Hunter, and a Necromancer Warlock, as I am a gray guardian."

Saying necromancer, the bodies behind me become covered in black energy before slowly reanimating. The dead were shambling to their feet as they lifelessly stared at the fire team. Seeing this, they all stepped back as the feeling of darkness mixed with the light filled the room. The only one not truly seeming affected was… Osiris, who would slowly but surely be the first turned guardian. As Osiris delved a bit too much into the darkness like Toland, Eris, and the Drifter.

Looking at the fire team, I chuckled as my undead army vanished with black flames. Gesturing my left hand out facing upwards, mine and Myriad's ghost materialized. Its outer shell had changed to a more weathered looking skull shell as it looked around. It looked at the fire team before us, opening its shell slightly as SIVA which had safely merged with it floated around inside. That was when its static low voice sounded off for the first time in centuries.

"Guardians… Bah, you fuckers are late, we've been fighting to defend our best defensive system. While you all, what? Built some fancy little city and tower that's, but, a shit stain among all the destruction?"

Our ghost completely stunted the guardians before us as his cyclops eye narrowed at them. He gave off the impression of fixing to bite them if they tried to argue. The guardian's ghost had materialized and tried to speak but got a tongue lashing, stunning them.

"You lot let them build their little shit stain? What was fucking around playing shepherd more important than the war? Bah, don't even try answering, I can already guess your damned reasoning. ANY QUESTIONS NOW, YOU SHITLESS BABIES?"

Cayde looked at our ghost, pointed at it and asked something very Cayde-like.

"Is your shell a skull, or are you inside a skull? Because it's honestly kind of freaky but stylish given what I just saw."

Our ghost blinked at him a bit before letting a rumbling mechanical laugh. It zipped over to Cayde quickly and floated in his face, almost gloating. Cayde seemed to like it as he smirked and flaunted his cloak, gloating about it silently as well.

"Glad you found one you can like Skell, but don't go getting married on us, you're our ghost."
