Chapter 1

I was having the worst week of my life. Everyone was leaving me. I know that sounds selfish but it was true, everyone was leaving.

It started with my dad. He and my mom got a divorce, he wanted to stay with his football team, my mom wanted to settle down and live in one place, we had to constantly keep moving because my dad's team traveled to multiple states to play but it just caused an argument everytime we moved because he said that we would stay there, we never did, which then led them to the divorce.

"Bye dad." I said, a tear dripping down my cheek.

"Bye son, take care of your mom." He said this holding back his tears.

He wanted me to stay with mom, so she would have someone to talk to.

"I will." I then gave him a hug instead of a high five like we usually would.

My sister was also leaving. She got accepted into Logisentry, the most advanced college that every kid wants to go to. She left already. But saying goodbye was hard.

"Please, stay safe sis." I told her. Shaking, not wanting her to leave, scared for her.

"I'll try." She was crying this time too, but very little.

"Please, don't leave."

"Look Axle, I'll be back in a couple of years. We'll have fun then." She told me.

"Fine, but call me when you get there." I told her.

"I will." She gave me a hug while saying this.

Me and my sister are close, we don't show everyone that, but when we're on our own we do a lot together.

"Bye mom, bye dad." She said before leaving.

Which left me with my mom, she wasn't leaving, she decided to stay with me instead. When she was pregnant with me she got accepted to an Art school, but when I was born she stayed with me. We have the best bond a mother and son could have.

My mom is tall, blonde, and tan. Her and my sister look a lot alike.

My name is Axle Neal, I am 17 years old and I live in a little town named Hazard Field. Yes, it sounds dangerous but it's not, it's actually a cute little town. The town is in Delaware. It is always cloudy, but it never rains. Weird right?

"I'll see you later mom." I said.

"Where are you going?" She asked.

"Just to go see some friends at the Park."

"Which one?"

"Mom, you don't need to know where I am constantly, I'll be fine."

She got really protective when Hayley left, my sister, she didn't want me to leave her too. She thought if I was somewhere she didn't know, she was afraid I'd leave her too.

She looked at me, a worried look.

"I'm going to Cedar Park with Nate." I said quietly and fast.

After that she nodded and I left. It was cloudy as usual, which seemed about right at the time. It was July 13th, and 74 degrees out. When I got to the park no one was there, Nate wasn't there, and no random people walking around. Great all alone.

"Anyone here!" I shouted.

No response. Then out of the corner of my eye I saw something, someone, running around. As I looked they disappeared.

"Nice job, Nate. I'm not falling for your joke."

I saw the running again, a blur in front of me. I turned around following the blur and there was a girl. About my age, maybe a year older. She didn't move, she just looked at me.

"Hi." I said, a little shaken up.

"Hey." She said with the most beautiful-est voice I ever heard. "You scared?" She asked. "Your shaking."

I didn't even realize I was shaking.

"Should I be scared?"

"I don't know, you tell me."

"I d-d-don't know." I said stuttering.

I used to stutter all the time as a kid but it went away, Guess what, It's back.

"Who a-a-are you?" I asked.

"Mabel, It means lovable." She said. "And your Axle." She didn't ask, she told.

"How did you know t-t-that?"

"Your name means 'Father Of Peace.'" She told me.

"How d-do you know that?" This time I demanded.

She wouldn't look at me. She was looking at her nails, her very sharp and shiny nails. She was playing with them. Then she did look at me.
