Am I Dead?

*Chirp... Chirp*

The beautiful tweets made by the birds showed the beginning of a new day. The just-risen sun shone softly on the city streets, bringing with it a flurry of early-morning activity with exceptional warmth and light to the city.

The sun's golden rays shone through the window as they fell on a handsome teenager with unique facial features.

Blond, short hair is pulled back to reveal a relaxed and handsome face. However, a change of expression to that of a painful one showed that the handsome teenager was about to wake up from his long sleep.

With a rapid blinking motion, the handsome blond's eyes opened revealing a set of bright blue eyes.

"Am I dead?", this was the first thought that entered Jim's head as he opened his eyes. He then blinked to adjust his eyes before looking at his surroundings.

'Oh, So I am in the hospital', Jim thought as he inspected his surroundings.

'So, what happened now? Why am I here? I don't really remember! Guess I would have to go and ask the doctor', Jim thought as he tried to stand up from the hospital bed.

However,

"Ouch!",

Jim shouted as excruciating pain enveloped him. Half of his body felt numb while the other half screamed in agony. The sharp, burning sensation was all he could focus on. Cold shivers shot through his body and both his hands and legs were trembling. With the passing of each moment, the pain only seemed to get worse and worse. For a moment he feared it would never stop.

He massaged his temples and for a moment tried to block out all the pain in order to press onward and stand up. However, the pain only seemed to get worse and worse. He knew he couldn't ignore the pain, so he laid back on the bed and decided to wait for the doctor.

"So I am not dead, huh? Why does this ridiculous Idea always come into my head after I see the hospital's white ceiling?", Jim mumbled to himself as he lay on the hospital bed.

Jim was used to having this thought whenever he woke up to see the white ceiling in the hospital and also this wasn't his first time being in the hospital in fact he has been to this hospital countless times for various reasons. He always knew the reason why he was in the hospital. However, for some reason, he couldn't remember the reason why he got admitted to the hospital.

"So, what happened?" , Jim tried to remember what happened before he was admitted into the hospital.

Whiles Jim was lost in his thoughts a doctor entered his room. He was in a white laboratory coat and had a stethoscope around his neck.

Jim failed to notice the doctor till the doctor was right before him.

"How are you feeling?", the doctor asked in a concerned voice as he sat on the visitor's seat near Jim's bed.

"Yeah, l am fine, how did I end up here?", Jim snapped out of his dazed state and asked.

"You got into a fight again", the doctor answered quickly as if he already knew what Jim will ask.

"Oh, I remember now. it was with Grey, right?", Jim asked a light chuckle out of self pity.

"Yeah, it was Grey but let me advise you. Don't offend him again.", the doctor answered with a smile on his face.

"Where am I?", Jim asked the doctor.

Jim was very familiar with the hospital since it wasn't his first time in the hospital but he had never seen so many medical tools around him when he woke up so he was wondering where he ended up this time.

"You are in the injury room"

"What?! the injury room?! how did I end up in this place?!", Jim asked in a worrying voice.

This was mainly because Jim knew what the injury room was used for. It was used for patients who were seriously injured. It was also normally used to do various medical operations for patients who suffered serious injuries.

"Well, your injuries were pretty much serious so couldn't bring you into the normal treatment room".

Jim was startled he didn't think that simply falling into a fight with a person with a heavenly body will simply hurt him this way.

He thought people with heavenly bodies weren't that strong. He didn't know that there was such a huge distance between them. It seems what the doctor said was true.

"Is my mom around?", Jim asked after a moment of silence.

"Yes, She is in the corridor. She hasn't slept for two days. Your mom really cares about you so you should stop getting into trouble!", the doctor answered in a solemn manner.

Jim's heart softened after the doctor said this. His mother has always cared about him but he kept causing her more trouble as the days went by. He would listen to her now and stop his hot-headed behaviour.

******

In the corridor in front of Jim's room, a woman with blonde hair sat on a bench whiles wearing a worrying look. Her hair was dishevelled and there were huge eye bags under her eyes which showed that she hadn't slept for some days.

She stood up the moment she saw a doctor exiting Jim's room.

"How is he?", She asked the doctor.

"He is fine, He just needs some rest. I will discharge him by tomorrow. He is lucky to be still living. He was very lucky that he was admitted early or else who knew what would happen. I think you should talk to him about his hot-headed behaviour", the doctor replied.

"Thank you for taking care of him. I will talk to him", Mrs Rose said to the doctor in a grateful voice.

"It's nothing, just make sure that he takes a long rest before going to school", the doctor said to her.

"Ok, can I see him?", Mrs Rose asked the doctor.

"Yes!", the doctor replied calmly.

"Thank you!", Mrs Rose replied as she headed for Jim's door...

This is the beginning.
