Naming The Nomads:

Once the food was done I noticed that the sun had begun to go down, so I decided to start getting to go to sleep, it seemed that I wasn't the only one though, as the nomads had all gotten into a group and were also preparing to go to sleep, with one of them staying behind to stay guard and make sure nothing happened to them.

Seeing this I waited until everyone but the person taking watch were asleep and walked up to him, he seemed startled that I was still awake, which made it clear to me that he was beginning to space out. So I just signaled him to where the rest of the group were sleeping then pointing at myself and my hammers before pointing at the jungle.

He seemed to understand that I was offering to take over, and although he did stare at me for a while, he eventually went with the rest. It only took 2 minutes for him to fall asleep, so I just decided to cover everyone in leaves to make it less likely for any predators to come, after all, taking over the position of 'guard' was only to get the remaining nomad to go to sleep.

As the system had already said, they had only recently been separated from their tribe, meaning that they were having to sleep less, in the sense that unlike in packs of 20-30 where people watching out for danger were able to easily switch with someone else in the middle of the night, and not have to serve as 'guard' for a long enough time to recharge completely, they, on the other hand, were only a group of six, and since nomads didn't have a way to measure time, I would say that at the very least they would switch 3 times every night.

That plus having to constantly hunt and defend from predators would eventually start to have a toll on them. At this point, even if a predator did appear it would probably kill all of them before they could run away, so there was really no point in having someone keep watch, Once all of them were covered in leaves, I did so as well and got ready for tomorrow in exitement, as I would finally be able to make some progress.

Genesis February 14, 0001:

Today I noticed that I had woken up later than usual today, thankfully, by the time I woke up, everyone else was still asleep as they would have probably started freaking out if they noticed nobody was keeping watch and blamed the person I let sleep yesterday, which would have the opposite effect of what I wanted.

Knowing that I had time to spare, I began weaving clothes using leaves for them, although they had already been wearing the dead skin of some animal which they probably received while they were in their tribe, it was for the best if they began wearing something that was less likely to give them a deadly disease, plus, the smell of dead meat would only attract more predators wherever they went.

In the end, I was able to make seven pairs of shorts, and one pair of shoes that felt more like slippers, and although it was nowhere near as comfortable as the clothes I used to wear, it was still something. So I just went away for a little bit and changed into the shorts before going back to wait for one of them to wake up.

As I waited I began to think about giving them names, after all, they were still human, plus, it felt wrong to refer to them as just nomads, as I would probably end up spending 4-5 years with them. It was only after I thought that, that I noticed just how much my mindset had begun to change, after all, I was in a position where the rest of their lives was just a tiny fraction of what I would be able to live for if things went well, I could only hope that I wouldn't start developing a sense of superiority, or things could start going downhill fast.

I was aware that there was no way for my ego to not grow exponentially since I knew of things that nomads couldn't even imagine, but I was also aware that if I got too carried away it would only hurt my progress as I would subconsciously try to prevent people from becoming 'better'. In the end, though, I couldn't exactly do much more than just try to constantly remind myself of my faults in an attempt to force my ego down.

Before I began overthinking about everything again I snapped myself back to reality and continued trying to name the nomads, in the end, I decided to name them Omar, Francisco, Josue, Daniel, Gabriel, and Carlos. Omar was the shortest of the bunch, while Fransisco was the tallest. As for Gabriel, he was the only person in the group with brown hair, Carlos was the only one with green eyes, and finally, Daniel the only person with curly hair.

"Congratulations host, you managed to do the unthinkable and find the five most generic names imaginable for your new closest companion, you are truly an inspiration to us all :D"

'...Nice to see you are still here… You are aware that you could just stay quiet right?'

"My thoughts are my gift to the world host, who am I to deny it such a grand honor?"

'...'

I just simply ignored the system from that point on, as it was obvious that talking to it would only encourage it to continue going, plus, Omar had just woken up, so I could actually get started with my day. After a moment of confusion, Omar just assumed that I had been keeping guard for the night, and calmed down.

Then he proceeded to notice that I had changed into the new plan shorts I had made. Before he could question me as to why I changed into them, I just handed him all six pairs, pointed at him and the rest, and went over to the river to gather rocks, it should only take him a little bit of time to piece everything together, plus, I had to start making axes as soon as possible if I wanted to get one done before the end of the day.
