Book is about a young man with little talent in cooking work his way through life on becoming a chef. He has supportive friends, parents, and many willing to teach him. The system is more of a gimmick, think of it more as a tool to help the chef over most novels where they are reliant on it. Translation is not very good. Since this is a novel on Chinese food especially many regions, the translation gets many dishes incorrectly.

This novel is really bad with a very slice of life direction to it. The MC barely takes advantage of the system and so far only has used it to cook a few very specific dishes. The MC has no drive to try and systematically develop his skills. Basically no interaction within his main occupation as a student or his club activities. Uses system to "learn" his undergrad course knowledge but there is no followup or demonstration of his knowledge. Read "Valiant Life" or "I'm really a superstar" instead.
