The Galge System

I dunno, comment a synopsis for me? But I don't claim ownership on any of the materials included in the story, excluding the originals mentioned within. If an original somehow resembles your idea, I am now stating that this is all a coincidence and we can have a discussion on the matter.

The grass is always greener on the other side.

Now that my curiosity is now sated, I returned my attention to the nominal student as he is about to face the demon.

Talk about good timing.

As far as I can see, he got good sense, but not yet adopted to the common sense of this world.

I mean, people won't really expect such enemies to come from that direction as any movement coming from there would be too easily noticeable.

This may be weird coming from me, but knowing things, seeing things, experiencing things and adopting to things are quite different.

Like now for example.

As the rustling of the leaves announced the entrance of the hunter, the nominal student immediately stood guard and faced upwards and prepared to the demon coming from above.

But what can he do?

Demons, by nature, are stronger, faster, and more resilient than humans.

They can exert more force than humans that winning head on is the last on the strategy guide.

They move faster that running away was ever the futile thought. Sunrise was the only answer.

They can also shrug off deadly injuries like being stabbed in the gut. Ordinary means won't do.

Now that I think of it, isn't better to consider having a race change?

I think jumping off ship won't really matter, since nothing really much prevents me from becoming a demon.

- Now that I remember, demons do have this curse-like thingy on their blood that prevents them on going against... what was his name again? M-m-mikail Jackson? Jordan? Uh...?

Anyways, also the detriment of not being able to walk under the sun is a big no no for me as it would hinder my mobility overall. It's not that I am planning to spend my whole ten years on this village you know? Gotta go outside sometimes for some soul-searching, food tour, or sightseeing.

Enough of being side-tracked as as I returned my attention to the nominal student as he scurried away from where he was standing to evade the surprise attack. Oh... those awkward side rolls made me remember of a game I used to play in the past.

As I try to reminisce the good old days, the battle(?) between the two became an awkward version of playing tag where the nominal student tries to gain distance in all kinds of ways possible with the demon stubbornly attempts to lounged at the nominal student, maybe take a good bite at the same time?

The demon lounges, the student rolls. The demon charges, the student evades. Surprisingly, despite being slower than the demon, the student always manage to create distance from the demon, that he is now making me doubt why he is always evading and not make any retaliation. In the back in my mind though, I knew that evading is the only thing he can do.

But an opportunity came as if someone finally ran out of patience.

The demon, maybe out of anger, lounges forcefully that he crashed against a tree and managed to stun himself for a few good seconds.

That few good seconds was used efficiently by the student.

Correct posture, deep breath, concentrate.

I may have heard it actually, but I felt like I heard this directly within my mind.

"Thunder breathing first form: Thunderclap and flash"

Like a lightning appearing suddenly and shaking your insides, a flash of light approached the demon. As the light fades away, is now replaced with the student in an iai stance.

The ground beneath them was gouged from the force that overwhelmed it.

The time felt like moving slowly as if to emphasize this moment.

The student unsheathe the sword.

As the time regained its natural flow, what came next was the demon being blown away sideways as if being hit with a rampaging truck, making me hallucinate as if the demon was an isekai protagonist experiencing the prologue of the story.

I admit, the special effects accompanying every breathing move is too cool it made me think of learning one or create one if it became too much of a hassle in learning existing ones.

It was a wonderful blow, but there is an accompanying subsequence.

Like a puppet had its strings cut, the student falls down powerlessly on the spot.

Like adding, no rubbing salt to the wound, the demon gradually stood up again, despite receiving such a powerful blow.

As if he was already convinced of his victory and dinner after seeing the state of his prey, the demon slowly made his way towards the student laying down on the ground defenseless.

As I ponder of many inconsequential things, I sneak a peak at the expression the student is now wearing.

He was satisfied, and at the same time not satisfied.

What's with this shonen manga protagonist like expression. Incomprehensible.
