Esme tried and failed at gently placing her cutlery down; instead, it dropped with a clatter as she blinked back at the hybrid. "The third time.. Your lifetime.." she murmured before clearing her throat and holding his gaze. "What do you mean?"

Esme had a pretty decent idea of what he meant, but it seemed too absurd to voice it aloud. It also completely rid her of any lingering anger. Her curiosity was piqued, and she could not deny, besides his little confession of holding more knowledge than most, this little trip was quite nice. Though, she wondered what Marcus was currently doing.

"The first time we met.." Einar smiled fondly if a little crookedly as he picked up his large glass of red wine. For some reason, his smile made the corners of her lips tug up, but she couldn't understand why; whatever memory this was, she did not have it anymore. "You almost killed me with your axe."
